Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4457: Nether Devils Invade

Chapter 4457: Nether Devils Invade

"Old Savur, don’t tell me your old bones already got to the Divergent? That would be silly, considering you’ve never responded to our intentions to have a friendly battle all these years."

From the distance, the Shadowtusk Nether Boar snickered.

It was a massive crimson-black boar with a purple-black tusk. Its towering body was over a thousand and six hundred meters long and proportionately long. Judging by its aura, it appeared to be a King-Tier Level Nine Empyrean Beast. However, its aura was as strong as a Mid Stage Exalt, which meant its prowess was as high as fifteen or seventeen levels higher.

"Hss~" King Savur hissed at the Shadowtusk Nether Boar, "Shut up, Gutong. Do you want to attract the Nether Devils to us?"

"..."

The Shadowtusk Nether Boar harrumphed lightly before he also turned to look in the distance towards the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan.

In their region, only the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan was nearby and powerful enough to take care of the threat. If they fought against the Nether Devil army, then they could kill one or two Exalt Stage Nether Devils but then would be grievously injured, and their clans would be jeopardized.

Therefore, they would have no choice but to rely on the Nether Springs Death Wolves or the other Grand Ancestral Magical Beast Clans. It was a pity that they weren’t near and wouldn’t easily invade the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan territory.

The other Empyrean Beast Clans also remained silent as they gazed at the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan, hoping they would come out to chase the Nether Devils away.

As for the Divergent, they guessed it was probably hunted by the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan already.

"Where did the prey go?"

At this moment, the grating and horrifying voice of the Nether Devil echoed across the region.

Its figure was absolutely hulking, making them nearly cower since only the Grand Ancestral Magical Beasts would be able to take them on without having to rely on the Divine Nether Totem.

"Nether Devils, for what reason are you here?"

The Patriarch of the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan rose to the skies, his tiny form abruptly enlarging into a six-hundred-meter-long wolf. Compared to the other Immortal Emperor Beasts, it was still small for its stature, but its majestic form was extremely imposing, death energy billowing out in waves as the divine image of a dark wolf appeared above its head.

It made the Nether Devils shudder- but not the Exalt Stage Nether Devils.

They remained smiling evilly as though they had finally found a match.

The Nether Devil at the forefront, the one who wore an insect bone-skull mask, raised his giant bone cleaver and cackled lightly.

"Nether Springs Death Wolf, I have heard about your reputation despite your small stature of an Immortal Emperor Beast that will run like cowards the moment they sense our presence."

"Is that so? Then can’t you leave? Your presence is extremely offending to us."

The Patriarch said with a cold voice, completely different than how he talked before, "If you stay for a few more seconds, then I will have no choice but to take that as a declaration of war."

"Rarrahara!"

The Nether Devil laughed boisterously before he struck the cleaver on the mountain to the side, cleaving it apart in one stroke. A Peak-Level Empyrean Grade Mountain flew off slightly and sank to the surface, creating a mound just like that.

The tremors in the region were heavy, shaking the hearts of many.

"..."

Illumina and the others still held their breaths, faintly understanding what they were talking about.

After all, they were speaking in the language of the Nether Devils. Since they stayed here for six months, they had taken the time to learn the language of the Nether Devils. For Illumina, Nyoran, and Azbel, it was easier to understand than the others since their inherited memories already contained extremely vague recollections of the language.

It was simply called the Nether Devil Language when translated to the Sky Word Language.

"How daring of you to tell us to scram, you lowly mutt?" The Nether Devil grinned, his aura reverberating.

*Bzzz!~*

Level Eight Exalt Stage undulations roared into the territory of the Nether Springs Death Wolf, causing an intense wave of nether haze to soar like a windy storm.

The Nether Devil raised his bone cleaver, his mouth opening once again, "Kill!"

"Rrrrraaa!!!"

The Nether Devils collectively roared from behind, raising their weapons and letting out a bloody war cry that made the blood flip inside out. They took a step forward and rushed toward the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan like madmen, their blood-red eyes turning even more bloodshot, filled with utter savagery.

Yom jumped into the fray, divine light rising from him as the image of a dark wolf appeared above him. His nether-death energy rose into the sky and filled his claws with immense power.

In front of him were an Exalt Stage Nether Devil and a hundred Empyrean Stage Nether Devils.

*Boom!~*

Yom’s descent from the skies cracked the very air. He swiped at the Exalt Stage Nether Devil.

However, the Exalt Stage Nether Devil lunged first, its stone club dragging along the ground before sending a wave of nether energy rippling through the battlefield.

*Clang!~*

The two forces collided with an explosive ferocity, clawing against a bone club. Sparks erupted, and the shockwave blasted away the surrounding Empyrean Stage Nether Devils who tried to run past them, causing their bodies to tumble through the air like ragdolls as black blood sprayed from their mouths and their bodies cracked.

They were not a match for the Exalts.

However, that didn’t seem to stop them. They still looked excited and tried to get past from far away.

"Haaa!~~~"

Yom now unleashed a terrifying shockwave from his mouth that was filled with nether-death energy. It blasted towards the Exalt Stage Nether Devil like a dome, flinging him back while the bone club itself sank a bit, nether-death energy sinking inside the club from the clawed imprint, causing it to lose its density ever so lightly before it dispersed.

But the Exalt Nether Devil stood its ground. Its blood-red eyes widened with thrill, its tongue licking its cracked lips beneath the ordinary bone mask of a wolf, "You’re better than I thought, mutt!"

Yom’s gaze sharpened, "You’ll regret not running."

To the eyes of the onlookers, they appeared to be evenly matched. They could tell that the wolf-masked Nether Devil was a Level Seven Exalt with a prowess that was one level higher. The density of Yom’s undulations was also at that level, allowing him to hold out against this terrifying Nether Devil.

They felt it was incredulous that Yom could even match blows since they imagined that his claws would be easily crushed along with his body.

However, they held their breaths, knowing the Nether Springs Death Wolves weren’t to be underestimated.

"How powerful~" Illumina’s gaze shook.

Judging by the prowess that Yom could emulate with the Divine Nether Totem, she felt it was almost fifty-three or even fifty-five levels higher. It was extremely crazy that such an elevation in strength could even be possible without breaking one’s body in the process, like a sword that was swung with too much power, only for the sword to disperse into fine particles.

However, the Divine Nether Totem somehow made this possible, only asking for a massive use of lifespan in exchange.

Nonetheless, she also ventured out, her form blurring.

She had grown to a fifty-meter-tall silhouette of a Nethermoon Mirage Rabbit, her fur glimmering with a soft spectral glow. She felt this size was good to deal with the Nether Devils. Her long ears twitched as her feet slammed against the air itself, propelling her forward like a silver comet. She dropped into the enemy ranks like a meteor.

*Ripp!~*

A dozen Empyrean Stage Nether Devils were cleaved in two. Their blood sprayed across the sky like crimson mist. She danced between the enemies, a phantom blur of white, silver, and violet light.

"Don’t fall behind!" Nyoran yelled from afar, her winged form descending in a vortex of dark crimson nether flames.

The Nether-Winged Abyss Raven appeared terrifying in looks alone.

Such an image didn’t fit Nyoran at all. However, with her big, wide black eyes, sharp beak, and black-gray raven body, she looked like an avian predator born to dive down and erase every ground creature in existence. She waved her dark crimson wings, sending a tsunami of crimson nether flames that breezed through the Nether Devils.

Instantly, their blood started boiling, like they were inflamed. Their skin started cracking, bleeding steamy black blood.

"Rrrraghh!"

They roared in pain before melting from the inside out.

Azbel and his father, Veralt, also attacked in their giant cobra form. They even spat their deadly nether poison at them.

The Nether Devils were stunned. They stopped right at that moment and flicked the poison off their bodies using their hands and lapped it up with their tongues. Instantly, their eyes lit up.

"Rahra! Tasty poison!"

"Give me more!"

"No, it’s mine!"

Nearly six Empyrean Stage Nether Devils began to chase them, causing Azbel’s scales to turn numb.

"Fuck!" He turned around to flee.

"Son!?"

Veralt was dumbfounded.

Weren’t they supposed to defend the clan behind them to the death?

Veralt didn’t spend time thinking much as he also turned around and escaped. However, Azbel rushed past a black-robed woman who was seated on a peak. Veralt also noticed her, imagining this lady could take care of them.

As he expected, Vereina opened her eyes. The image of a single head of giant Six-Headed Hydra appeared above her before it split into three heads, nearly resembling her face in all three of them. Those three pairs of eyes glowed crimson-gold like that of a murderous serpent, gleaming with cold intent as she reached out her hand while licking her lips.

"Nether Devil souls are unexpectedly delicious~"

With a swipe, she directly and forcefully snatched their souls out of their triangular heads, causing them to fall like kites whose strings had been cut.
