Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4509: An Extravagant Feast

Chapter 4509: An Extravagant Feast

"Brave of you to stand before me while knowing that it may not end well for you. Where’s your little brother? I might have a few words to say to him since I haven’t received the shipments for the last two years. Oh? It’s you, isn’t it?"

Davis raised his brows at Jiayi Crystalveil.

She raised her hand and stood straight, flicking her crimson hair with poise.

"Indeed, it’s me."

Davis nodded.

He suspected as much since Ragoon Crystalveil would be far away, somewhere nearby Isabella and the others, since he would need to deliver using his subordinates. He could not come here, which leaves Jiayi Crystalveil in charge of the True Peak Emporium’s people at the entrance.

She seemed to have stopped sending the shipments to him and was now even bravely standing before him for some reason.

Davis couldn’t help but smile since it had been a long while since an outsider intrigued him.

"Speak. You must want something from me for you to interfere."

"Interfere is a big word." Jiayi Crystalveil smiled behind her crimson veil. She waved her hand, and two female servants walked out from the alleyway behind her, walked forward, presenting Davis with two spatial rings on luxurious plates.

"With the shipment that was supposed to land in your hands, I traded and obtained a lot more resources, making significant profits of fifty percent. I will give them all to you as a sign of good faith. The receipts are also inside, unchanged and untampered."

Davis didn’t move. He glanced at the rings before he gazed at her, a curious smile stretching across his lips.

"And why would you do that?"

"Let’s not stand and talk. If you please, let me host your eminence in our restaurant."

Jiayi Crystalveil gestured to the side elegantly.

Davis stared at her veiled expression, wanting to see through before he nodded and followed her. Tia also grabbed his hand, snuggling over him as she threw out a tongue. From the moment she saw Jiayi Crystalveil, she knew the other party was a vixen.

Jiayi Crystalveil smiled behind her crimson veil before she turned and walked forward, shaking her hips.

Tia reached out her hand to hide Davis’s eyes.

His shoulders shook ever so lightly, inwardly laughing since he had never seen Tia jealous. It seemed like she wanted him this hour all to himself, but it was ruined.

Finally, Davis arrived at the True Mystical Dish Restaurant, a name that invoked one’s appetite swell but also had a funny undertone to it as something that could be hunted wouldn’t be mystical, and something mythical couldn’t possibly be real in most cases. In any case, they went into a private room, and Jiayi Crystalveil kept the spatial rings on the table for the taking.

She also kept two pairs of appetizing dishes on the table, instantly causing Davis’s heart to swell and his stomach to grumble.

"Please feast on Seven-Colored Phoenix Wings, Spicy Azure Dragon Rice, and Azure Dragon Bone Soup~"

Jiayi Crystalveil personally placed the dishes on the table.

Tia also gawked, her little nose struck with an aroma she couldn’t resist. She wobbled for a bit before turning to look at Jiayi Crystalveil.

"Are you lying? If it’s fake, I won’t forgive you~"

Jiayi Crystalveil shook her head, "These two ingredients, Azure Dragon and the Seven-Colored Phoenix, are very hard to get since the two races ban them from being traded. I had a tough time procuring them, especially since they’re only at Immortal Emperor Beast Stages, but because of that, I was able to bring them in. It’s all for you, Divine Emperor of Death."

Davis pointed at her, "You- are not getting killed today as long as you’re not stupid."

He then grabbed the large piece of tantalizing wing, ripping it in one bite and dug in a spoonful of Spicy Azure Dragon rice and chopped bits of meat before stuffing it in his mouth, his eyes opening wide as a burst of delicious flavor, spicy and sweet, attacked his tongue.

Instantly, he ripped more meat apart, paying no attention to his image.

Jiayi Crystalveil was momentarily taken aback before she smiled.

"I see your eminence is not afraid of poison one bit."

Tia glared at her as though reluctantly forgiving her for disturbing her time with Davis before also digging in.

The two of them looked satisfied as they ate, occasionally giving a thumbs up to Jiayi Crystalveil when she went out of her way to describe the cost, ingredients used, preparation method, cooking method, and other details that would be explained in a high-quality setting.

The restaurant was also fancy. There was no need to say anything about the wealth of the True Peak Emporium. They were one of the wealthiest powers in the Upper Realms, definitely in the top ten or even top five.

Nonetheless, Davis and Tia were quickly done with the two dishes, their lips greasy. She grinned, "More~"

"As you please."

Jiayi Crystalveil raised her hand and snapped her fingers, making the servants bring in more dishes of the same and more beasts with more variety.

"Oh, Heavenly Ghost Crow, Azure Thunder Kirin, Six-Headed Hydra and more~"

Tia’s purple eyes lit up at these delicacies. She didn’t imagine the True Peak Emporium would be so brazen, but she loved it. Any of these meats could get them in trouble if it were revealed that they were used, so it seems like she was sincere in wanting to speak with them.

Davis reached out with a clean hand and caressed Tia’s head.

She had never seen these beasts before, much less their aura. His Tia always knew more than she let on.

He looked at Jiayi Crystalveil, indicating for her to sit with a flick of his head.

Jiayi Crystalveil nodded and took the seat opposite them. She sat gracefully, looking at them with a calm gaze.

"My first request is for the Divine Emperor of Death to release my little brother. I admit he made mistakes and deserves death, but he is my only little brother whom I took care of since little, so I won’t allow him to die."

"Secondly, you can use my trade services. I can make you a larger profit than my little brother can. I have dealt with many underground transactions, so exchanging goods with suspicious people is also my forte. I promise you won’t suffer a loss."

"..." Davis nodded, thinking it was along these lines.

"Are you not worried that we were seen together back there? I also put your brother’s name out."

Jiayi Crystalveil shook her head, "It is public knowledge that the True Peak Emporium bought my little brother back from you. Hence, it is not strange for me to have dealings with you. Besides, every one of our esteemed clients requests me to obtain Primarch Grade resources from this secret realm, and I am of the thought that the fastest way to obtain them is through you, your eminence."

"My dear, you’re so cunning..."

Davis leaned to the front, his smile turning playful, "Let’s say I agree but only agree to one thing. Either your little brother gets released, or we trade Primarch Grade resources. Which will you choose?"

"Naturally, we will trade Primarch Grade resources~"

Jiayi Crystalveil didn’t even hesitate to answer, making Davis blink.

But she continued, "Then with the same Primarch Grade resources, I’ll seek his release. Clearly, his life isn’t worth a single Primarch Grade resource in your eyes, no? I would be making a profit."

Davis leaned back, putting his leg over the other as he smirked, "Interesting woman you are... truly cunning. Even if you’re less than expected, I think I will have more fun trading with you than your little brother."

"Many thanks for the compliment~"

Jiayi Crystalveil smiled, her gaze flashing with a shrewd light.
