Chapter 4529: The Seraphims’ Otherworldly Perception
Chapter 4529: The Seraphims’ Otherworldly Perception
Davis’s brows furrowed.
He noticed that these Seraphims were deeply afraid of him.
He noticed it at first, but he guessed that they had noticed his Divergent aura. However, their reaction was just too exaggerated or even abnormal. After all, if it was just the Divergent aura that they have noticed, then they should be now composed since they would’ve already seen Myria’s Divergent aura.
He couldn’t help but ask, his eyes narrowing, "What do you three see?"
"Father, don’t scare them."
"Be quiet, Viridia." Evelynn’s seductive voice echoed with authority.
"..." Viridia pouted but ultimately quietened down.
She realized she was wrong to be hastening her father, but she just didn’t want to see her friends being wronged.
"Viridia is right. Where are my manners? I cannot be rude to my children’s friends."
Davis smiled at them before he turned around and cupped his hands, "I’m the Divine Emperor of Death, an Anarchic Divergent stemming from the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy, and perhaps a scourge to the universe, but I don’t personally think so, as I want nothing but peace. Now then, care to introduce yourselves?"
The three Seraphims tried to calm down. It didn’t seem like they were surprised by his introduction.
Davis realized that Azariel and Viridia had already revealed their background. It was no wonder they acknowledged them as friends. He guessed it should be because the Seraphims accepted them for who they are and not because Azariel and Viridia looked up to them just because they were Seraphims.
He inwardly nodded at Azariel and Viridia’s mentality.
"Ulna-Von-Elsa"’
Suddenly, the female Seraphim answered.
Her buxom body was clad in resplendent robes of woven light and feathered silk, threads cascading with hues that shimmered like the rising dawn, golden-white with faint opalescent luster. Her six white wings, pale as moonlight and twice the size of her, folded behind her like a sacred prayer. Her eyes were like a set of twin stars of pale amber. Those deep eyes of hers held both wisdom and wariness, and yet there was a noble pride in the way she held her chin up.
The other two Seraphims followed suit.
"Malz-Von-Knine," the first male Seraphim declared, his voice deep, like a hymn cast from ancient heavens.
He wore golden armor. His armor was not made of metal but something else entirely, translucent, glowing plates that pulsed with celestial runes of unknown origin, as if the stars themselves had congealed into a form fit for battle. His wings were sharp and radiant, bigger than the female Seraphim’s, flaring with a silvery-blue tint, perhaps a sign of his attribute.
"Malz-Von-Zaine," the second male spoke curtly, his voice lighter but firm.
His appearance was the most reserved, draped in a long flowing robe etched with faint runes of unknown origin, his halo hovering slightly higher than the other two. His six wings fluttered gently, appearing almost ethereal, yet the faint ripple in the surrounding energy suggested they could cleave space itself.
His purple eyes never left Davis for even a second, full of caution.
Davis nodded at each introduction, registering their strange names away as his gaze swept over their divine forms with interest. These didn’t appear like ornamental angels or humans dressed up in some strange suit. Every aspect of their feature, attire, aura, and composure bespoke of an entirely different nature.
Their racial aura was not human, even though they looked like one. That much was extremely clear.
"Hmm... interesting. Setting aside what the names relate to, I guess you’re all from the Von Family of the Seraphim Race. I have no idea who they are. If I were to guess, are they the rulers of the Seraphim Galaxy?"
"Indeed." Ulna-Von-Elsa answered, her shimmering brows frowning yet her voice quivering, "Why do you look- like that? Your aura... it’s scary. You appear like a human male, but you’re not. The color of your soul... it feels like the requiem of an era that has long passed."
Davis’s expression subtly shifted.
He had heard many descriptions before- that he was a monster, fiend, anomaly, hope, catastrophe, but never had anyone framed his essence with such haunting poetry.
He cast a closer look at Ulna-Von-Elsa, figuring she might know more about his true origin if he had one behind Myria’s split.
"Do you know what you’re sensing?" Myria suddenly asked, her voice cool and calm as falling starlight.
However, Davis could sense the intense curious fluctuations stemming from her soul.
Ulna-Von-Elsa hesitated but then shook her head, "It’s like... like you’re what we were taught to avoid, but also... to never provoke. You possess the shape of the Being of Original Sin."
"Wha-?"
Davis nearly burst out laughing, "What kind of being is that?"
He saw that the other two Seraphims shudder, causing him to become solemn.
"Tell me what you know of it. Anything would do."
Ulna-Von-Elsa lightly shook her head, appearing scared. She turned to look at the others for help.
Malz-Von-Zaine looked hesitant, then spoke under his breath, "Only what we remember from the celestial inheritance passed down by the Heavenborne Archive. That the Being of Original Sin was a form of universal defiance... the last primordial soul that refused reincarnation, that bent the heavens to its Will instead of following the heavenly path. A soul that... sought to become the judge and executioner of existence itself."
He looked up, and his emerald eyes quivered.
"And your soul... feels like that."
"..."
Davis’s heart shook.
Could it be that his true origin wasn’t some kind of soul latching onto the yang split during rebirth but a dimensional being?
’How can that be!?’ Davis refused to accept.
He pointed at Myria, "What about her?"
He guessed if he was indeed some dimensional being, then it should be Myria and not him.
"She... her soul embodies the Being of Original Virtue, the first primordial soul to emerge in the universe that spread life and allowed them to flourish with its sacrifice."
Ulna-Von-Elsa didn’t look as scared as much when she gazed at Myria.
Moreover, there was still a sense of respect and reverence in her eyes when she looked at her.
Davis was dumbfounded by Myria being addressed as a different form of entity. Although he still refused to believe it, karmic burden was crazily falling on him and Myria at this moment, making him feel like it could not be far off from the truth and it was the right choice for him to have sealed the space around them and not let anyone hear or see what they were talking about lest karmic burden fall on them too.
