Chapter 4553: Incurring Her Wrath?

Fairy Xiu Juili felt fluttery inside. Her heart was beating loud, and the atmosphere around her turned pink with giddiness in her mind, filling her with bliss that she had never experienced before. This feeling was utterly surreal.

She had just come to meet with Davis since she heard that he was leaving for the Shard Continent, and it might be years before he could see her, so, using this chance, she had sneaked out and searched for him.

Catching sight of him, she was in high spirits and finally felt like she could speak her mind with no one watching, but never did she imagine he would just embrace her out of the blue. Regardless, it was an unexpected surprise as she welcomed it all, finally understanding that her affection for him was not some imagination she had contrived but her reality.

She realized she really had fallen for him.

“Well, well…”

Abruptly, Fairy Thunderblaze’s voice echoed, causing her to react like a cat that had its tail stepped on as she flinched and looked back, her twin emerald pupils locking onto the opponent as though it was the most natural thing for her to do.

Her brows went wide as she recognized Fairy Thunderblaze, not expecting her to come all the way here.

She had seen the show of force and was surprised, but it wasn’t really to the level of overturning her confidence since she knew the other party was a Divergent for her to be easily mingling with the Divine Emperor of Death and his family.

“Seems like I have interrupted your secret affair…” Fairy Thunderblaze’s expression turned amused.

“No such thing…”

Fairy Xiu Juili quickly retorted, her cheeks blushing behind her green veil.

Regardless, she calmed lightly, thinking that Fairy Thunderblaze could only be here for him and not her.

“It’s not really an affair if the other party with whom I’m intimate is mine to begin with.”

Davis said with a calm smile.

He pulled Fairy Xiu Juili to his side by grasping her frail shoulder lightly, causing Fairy Xiu Juili to freeze again. She felt this was too bold for her heart, but a sense of belonging increased in her when she saw that Fairy Thunderblaze glaring at her as though she had what Fairy Thunderblaze couldn’t have.

Again, he was basically saying that she should not touch Fairy Xiu Juili.

However, it served to only light up the fire in Fairy Thunderblaze’s heart, “You say she’s yours, but don’t you know that she has suitors from the Heavenshade Clan, Serpenzal Clan, and Hexadra Clan? I never heard of her publicly declaring her affection for you like Aila Cherryweave did, and her public image is now that of a virtuous Celestial Fairy of a minor world, so her current action is that of a…”

“I suggest you stop right there.” Davis’s smile faded.

“…” Fairy Thunderblaze glared at him, her bosoms heaving.

“Zenova,” Davis called out her name, his gaze calm, “All I want you to do is to be my ally for now. I said previously that I’m not blind, and I meant it. You… are… blindingly beautiful, but your thorns are not something that my family can endure. Until I cut these thorns of yours, I won’t ever be vulnerable to you.”

“…”

Fairy Thunderblaze went silent, her eyes wide while her expression behind her red veil was lost.

She didn’t know what to say anymore.

“I don’t want you harming anyone important to me. Just be my ally, someone whom I can depend on.” Davis’s tone became soft, “So when it’s really dangerous, I can show my back to you without worrying.”

“…”

Fairy Thunderblaze was still silent. Her eyes kept narrowing until they were tiny slits.

“Is she that important to you?”

“Since Fairy Xiu Juili came to search for me and didn’t resist my embrace, I must say… she is important to me. We’re no longer just in the seeing period of courtship. Do you not agree, Juili?”

Fairy Xiu Juili’s heart shook. She turned to gaze at him, her eyes turning moist and determined as her lips moved, “I am honored to cross that period and become yours, Divine Emperor of Death. Within a week, I will have collected enough resources to start negotiating with the Heavenshade Clan to clear all debts. Please wait for me…”

Davis turned to look at her, his gaze astonished.

Her tone, her lovely voice, and the way she said it… It seems like this was what she came to say here. To think it had been a reply to his proposal.

Davis was a bit taken aback as he had expected this to come years later. He couldn’t help but reach out his hands to hold hers. Her soft hands were very cold, probably full of nervousness and worry.

“You are my fairy, Juili,” He said as he stared at her mesmerizing jade twin-pupils, causing her expression to blossom, “But I’m sorry. I need to go to Shirley and the others right now.”

“Ah, I didn’t mean it that way.” Fairy Xiu Juili shook her head, “I meant that when you leave this secret realm, please take me with you.”

Davis’s heart shook. The woman in front of him had just decided to forsake the normal world and enter chaotic waters. That wasn’t an easy feat to take, considering it was practically expected that he would be killed upon entering the Upper Realms.

He closed his eyes for a moment before looking at her with a renewed gaze.

“Then from now on, you should stay with my family. I promise that they will take care of you and shield you from harm.”

Fairy Xiu Juili unwittingly nodded. After a light pause, even her ears began to blush as she couldn’t believe she had exchanged a promise of marriage with a man just like that. It was so easy but unexpected, causing her to turn to look away from the sheer embarrassment she felt right now.

She spotted Fairy Thunderblaze, quickly focusing on her to get rid of the heat on her face.

“You- I don’t know what you want from Saint Davis, but I’m serious about our relationship. You can spread rumors about me, and I won’t care since I have had my fair share of facing such scenarios. But this time around, I’ll say to the world that they are correct- that Fairy Xiu Juili is no longer a maiden in heart.”

Her hand pressed over her bosom, her expression determined as though she was saying it to herself.

“And if you really want to offend me, go ahead. I will return in kind when I’m strong enough, since all I need is a brief window to end you with my eyes.”

Fairy Xiu Juili’s eyes narrowed. Her twin pupils began to revolve within as they shone with a jade light, exuding a strange aura that was different from her original aura.

“That’s…” Fairy Thunderblaze’s eyes squinted, “You have been hiding a physique?”
