Davis recollected a bit through his old memories that resurfaced upon her mention.

“I do.” He wryly smiled and touched her other hand on his arm, “I’m afraid I can’t reciprocate now.”

Forget Fallen Heaven. He couldn’t even reveal most secrets since he didn’t fully trust her. They were just starting to know each other, starting to hold hands. That would be so careless of him.
