Chapter 4570: Traversing The Blue Line
Chapter 4570: Traversing The Blue Line
Davis gazed at the map as he traversed this mountainous region.
Fortunately, it was also a mountain forest, so they were able to remain concealed amongst the giant trees. The thickness of the trees here was truly mindboggling, spanning over ten meters, and their height was as much as thirty kilometers.
Even the small ones quickly grew to five kilometers tall.
Myria guessed these were Emperor Hardwood Trees that can grow up to High-Level Empyrean Grade. If they gathered this much of Emperor Hardwood, then they could profit significantly just as a business venture since it was a luxury wood attribute material in the Upper Realms, but they didn’t have time for that, and neither did they want to expose their location by starting deforestation here.
Nadia also occasionally looked at the map Davis was gazing at.
At first, she didn’t know left or right, but as Davis explained, she saw that the blue lines were the path taken by those who first came here. The red marks were confirmed danger zones, and the golden arcs were possibly gateways to other Shard Regions, but it was uncertain, as they could be gateways to somewhere unknown, too.
The blue lines stretched in multiple directions from this point. Most ended up being cut short, which meant their life had mostly come to an end. Only a few blue lines ended up making their way to various locations, even traveling afar.
The Shard Continent was absolutely massive.
But fortunately, from the looks of it, they only needed to traverse one part of the map to get to the nearby Shard Regions. Hence, it was theorized that the pathways found in distant parts of the map led to somewhere else, another cluster of different Shard Regions entirely.
It was possible that they could get lost and remain stuck there forever, so no one wanted to go far away.
Hence, their current part of the map was a bit more detailed than the last. The additional drawing of landscapes and landmarks made it easier to follow the path.
However, the danger zones were also plenty.
For example, there was an upcoming danger zone with a Low Stage Primarch-level lifeform. But in their path until the Shard Region where Shirley was, there were as many as twenty-four danger zones. It was ridiculous.
But it wasn’t exclusive to the territories of these lifeforms because of the giant bone-masked bird they had seen. It was a Low Stage Primarch-level existence, and that place, straight near the entrance, wasn’t even marked. This meant that some of these ridiculous existences don’t stay in one place, making it even more dangerous.
One misstep and they could be gone.
Hence, they were walking on foot.
One part of their minds said it would’ve been better for them to traverse all the way back and then reach the other Shard Regions where Shirley and Bylai were. However, they weren’t just here to traverse. They were also here to hunt for treasures as they went.
They were sure that Primarch Grade resources here were plenty, unlike the Upper Realms and Greater Realms that had long been excavated and exclusively controlled by many powers, taking millions and billions of years to nurture one single Primarch Grade resource.
Most importantly, they knew that High-Level Primarch Grade resources here should be more obtainable, and even Peak-Level Primarch Grade resources might appear in their faces. It was a pity that their power was low in this place.
Otherwise, they’d be able to take it all.
Now they could only move stealthily.
Davis walked on a downward slope. The others followed, their eyes vigilant. They did not speak much nor exchange soul transmissions since their little soul power would be like lighting a flint in a dark forest, instantly picked up by wild lifeforms and spirits alike.
Their eyes alone showed their intentions, and their thoughts could be read as long as they made enough bodily gestures.
Fairy Thunderblaze was walking beside Myria to the right, so she kept an eye on the east side of their journey. She was worried about the silence of this forest. It was too big, and even the minor spirits dared not make a sound, surviving to the best of their ability.
She gazed above and saw the weather wasn’t too bad.
Other than the extremely dense wood energy here, there was a tinge of darkness energy from the shades created, wind energy blowing through some paths, and an ounce of earth energy in the ground. Although they were small, the energy was comparable to Peak-Level Empyrean Grade, which meant it was easily accommodating to Peak-Level Empyrean Grade powerhouses.
She could only wish how she could cultivate here, as it would give over five to ten times the result, but it was unfortunate that they, the outsiders, were still suppressed. They couldn’t break through even if they wanted to. That was how strong the suppressive force was. If they forced it, they might implode like a vessel that couldn’t contain any more.
Two hours later, they entered flatlands, and half an hour later, they began moving on an upward slope. They were still in the same forest mountain, but they had traveled over a hundred thousand kilometers at their walking speed. That was like fourteen kilometers per second, extremely fast, but for their speed, it was extremely slow.
After all, as Immortal Emperors who were capable of achieving Empyrean-level speeds, they hadn’t even used one percent of their full speed. Their flying speeds per second could easily go up to two hundred million kilometers per second in a free, unoppressive environment. Davis could even achieve three hundred kilometers per second easily, as he had done so during his battle with the Venerable Knights.
However, the world was different. Even in the Upper Realms, they would be subject to certain restrictions based on the place and weather. So this place was no different.
Their speeds were not only restricted, but traveling fast through the dense atmosphere consumes more heaven and earth energy, leading them to spend their stamina faster.
Regardless, they had successfully made it past two danger zones. However, there was an upcoming danger zone that they had to traverse no matter what.
Looking at the map using the jade crystal, it was written that there was a Level Two Primarch-level existence, a Realm Calamity. The Abyssborne Monarch Wraith, a darkness-attributed Realm Calamity that was shaped like a humanoid wrapped in multiple shadows. It was capable of spawning legions of shadows that eventually mold into a realm and seal it in darkness, slowly devouring it away.
In this way, it was similar to the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend rather than the Nefarious Darkwill Rakshasa. The Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend turned out to be a Realm Calamity that spawns Unfettered Behemoth Ice Fiends and Unfettered Ice Fiends. Fortunately, the Frostcloud Sword Empress sealed it before it became a significant threat. It also didn’t have resources to grow into the Empyrean Stage in the First Haven World, so it was not a threat to begin with.
Still, if it reaches the Exalt Stage, then it would be a whole different threat.
Davis and the others arrived before a space that swirled into darkness.
The giant trees could no longer be seen properly. The entirety of the area was engulfed by a huge shadow that made the darkness energy concentration extremely high.
The True Peak Emporium’s notes on this place on the map were: The Primarch-level Realm Calamity is asleep. Concealment talismans, sound-suppressing talismans, and grave caution are advised.
