Chapter 4572: Encumbering Worlds
Chapter 4572: Encumbering Worlds
Davis really thought about it.
If he was going to use Tia’s divination, then it would’ve been better to just take the long route. To head back to the Eternal Twilight Shard Region will take around two to three months, and from there, traversing to the Shard Region Shirley was in was going to take three to four months.
But in the Shard Continent, it was around fifteen days.
Fifteen days compared to six to seven months, the answer should be obvious.
However, it wasn’t obvious since the danger levels in the Shard Continent were extremely high.
Furthermore, they couldn’t travel to Bylai’s Shard Region without heading back to the Eternal Twilight Shard Region again.
Just going back and forth to retrieve Shirley’s group and Bylai’s group and finally heading back to the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region would take one to two years overall. That’s why heading through the Shard Continent was much more time-conserving and also resource-driven. They might also find dimensional pathways leading to the realms, so they could extract all the Primarch Grade resources they have harvested.
They already had a dimensional pathway to exit, but it wasn’t the best place to extract since it led to some sect’s abandoned outskirts. If they got caught, then the entirety of that Upper Realm would be upon them, and that would be the end.
Davis once again decided against using Tia’s divination before he continued the journey.
Daylight left, and moonlight shone across the region much more brightly, even though the suns and moons were still above. It made for a fantastic scene that took their breaths, causing Davis to come to a stop before they continued again.
But at midnight, they had to come to a stop since they got tired of traversing this dense energy region.
Davis turned to look at the multitude of moons with relish, thinking of his harem before he turned to look at Myria and the others.
“Let’s make a camp here. Traveling in the night while being exhausted can be dangerous…”
Davis felt like he was good, but Nadia was already out of stamina since she was maintaining the concealment at full force. Other than mental fortitude, Myria and Fairy Thunderblaze were quite tired since they had to walk on foot.
“Alright, we’ll keep a lookout.” Isabella and Tia said at the same time.
Although they were also tired, they weren’t as tired as Nadia since they were not the ones who walked. Their psyches were strained, but their muscles were fine.
Davis considered for a moment before he nodded.
Isabella was attuned with the earth, and Tia could feel incoming danger most of the time. If they remained vigilant, then nothing should be able to ambush them. He looked at the map once again and saw that the nearby danger zones were still over two hundred thousand kilometers away, which made this a fairly good place to rest.
Davis built a makeshift tent. He didn’t light up anything, so it was still dark. Only the strange cyan-silver light of the moons gleamed on them, giving some brightness to their vision.
Inside the tent, Davis summoned a wooden bed and plushy bedding, making himself comfortable. Nadia snuggled inside his arms and began to sleep. Myria and Fairy Thunderblaze walked in, noticing that there was a sound suppression talisman here.
Finally, they could talk freely.
“Phew, just one day and we already completed one-third of the journey… Good.”
Fairy Thunderblaze summoned a comfy sofa and lay down, making herself comfortable. Her eyelids quivered, never having felt so tired in a single day. Wherever the energy concentration was high, the body would already have trouble digesting it, but if there was also suppression cast on them, making them fly slower and restricting their soul sense, then they would only get exhausted faster.
She knew she was in such a situation.
“Didn’t you see the map?” Davis lazily replied while trying to sleep, “Our traveling speed is indeed much faster than the others, so it will take at least seven to ten days for us to reach Shirley. But from this point on, the distance between each danger zone widens, so it’s not like we completed one-third of the journey as you said.”
“Deceive the mind in order to feel energized. Don’t be so realistic…” Fairy Thunderblaze heaved a breath, yawning as she hid her mouth.
Davis’s shoulders shook lightly as he silently chuckled.
Myria stood between them. She wondered where to sit when she found Davis opening his eyes and gesture for her to come closer. She smiled and walked towards him, sitting by his side and lying down while facing Fairy Thunderblaze.
His arm came over her waist as he held her close, and Nadia changed her position to be much more comfortable as she jumped over and nestled against Myria’s bosoms.
Myria caressed Nadia and kissed her forehead with delight.
Who didn’t like a little puppy wanting to snuggle against them?
Davis embraced Myria from the back, kissing her lovely nape. She shivered, feeling pleasured.
“Shameless…” Fairy Thunderblaze rolled her eyes, turning to look away and sleeping.
Davis kissed a few more times before he also descended into sleep. Time passed. Three hours later, he woke up, still finding everyone asleep. Even Tia came in and was sound asleep. He couldn’t help but chuckle lightly before he stepped out and saw Isabella all alone, keeping a watch under the moonlit night.
“Alright, you go to sleep. I’ll take care.”
“Thanks, my love. I need it…”
Isabella’s eyes already had bags. Davis blinked, having to admit this region was extremely hard to traverse. It was also difficult to maintain vigilance when everybody else was sleeping. The collective nature of a group was an attractive force.
Nevertheless, he looked at the multitude of moons, wondering if they had some kind of sleeping effect. Otherwise, he didn’t feel like the world would be so quiet with giant lifeforms roaming around.
He kissed Isabella’s lips goodnight and even carried her to bed.
Isabella’s cheeks reddened at being treated like a princess, but as soon as she was put on the bed, her body automatically needed the rest, and she sank into sleep.
Davis came out of the tent and maintained vigilance.
A few hours later, it was sunrise.
Fairy Thunderblaze was the first one to come out. She appeared by his side and cast him a strange look before suggesting that he go get some shut-eye.
Davis shook his head.
He was the least tired of them all, so he only needed a little bit of rest. His chaotic body wasn’t to be underestimated.
Golden light shone across the land, exuding warmth.
Davis went to wake everyone up. They left after a few minutes after clearing their traces. Continuing their journey, they moved across the mountain forest. They had crossed a fiery region and a lightning region. There were some Empyrean lifeforms that were Void Calamities that threatened them, but since they were concealed, they could easily get past them.
Four days passed. Every night, they made sure to rest.
It was the morning of the fifth day.
They crossed fifteen danger zones, leaving only nine left.
The next one was the one they needed to be most careful about, as there was another existence that was extremely dangerous. The notes mentioned that it was awake and could detect concealment, so the only way to cross this region was to bait it away for at least two hours or wait for it to leave.
It was called the False Dawn Harbinger, a Realm Calamity, a four-winged giant of unholy radiance that forces all lifeforms to submit and burn in light-attributed fires of immolation to devour their souls and explode into a supernova that is capable of destroying a realm.
