Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4622: Placing Bounties

Chapter 4622: Placing Bounties

The last batch of the survivors looked at the Divine Emperor of Death with their hearts at their throats, wondering if he would let them go.

As supreme geniuses who had the aspirations to grow, enact justice, and eventually help the human race fend off the other galaxies and other races, the calamitous incarnation, the Divine Emperor of Death, would’ve also been one of their targets, but it was confusing for them to see him command them to kill the villainous supreme geniuses.

What was his intention?

They couldn’t tell. The evil rumors about him couldn’t let them see through him.

Davis looked at the survivors with a cold outlook.

In front of him, the number of tables had increased. On top of the tables, there were the heads of over twenty-two supreme geniuses whose prowess was over nine or even ten levels higher.

Right now, he was thinking about how this was unprecedented.

These supreme geniuses actually weren’t from the major powers that ruled realms, but still, they managed to reach this far. This told him that the intrusion into the Elemental Dimension’s secret realm has been beneficial for not only the hegemons but also the powers under them. It benefited nearly every power.

Empyrean Grade resources were plentiful, never running out unless the Shard Region had been cleared. Only a few Shard Regions after the Eternal Twilight Shard Region have been cleared so far. As for the rest, there were still a lot of resources waiting to be found.

Immortal Emperor Grade resources were mostly ignored. The supreme geniuses were still conscious of the environment, or it was better said that they valued their time just like how the Davis Family prioritized harvesting Exalt Grade resources over Empyrean Grade resources.

Pondering over how the human race was improving at a faster pace than what history would consider an average or desirable rate of improvement, he narrowed his eyes, wondering if the human race would ultimately be his enemy that wanted to end him, no matter what.

Davis didn’t like such an outcome.

Even if he imagined slaughtering the entirety of the human race in the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy after being pushed to the furthest corner and made to be full of hate, he couldn’t derive any happiness from it. There was only a sense of loss, ultimately telling him that he was still human.

He didn’t wish for the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy to die off or lose against any other galaxy.

Davis tapped the armrest with his finger, the sound of it echoing like a death knell to the supreme geniuses who are unsure of their fate.

"Leave."

He said one word, and his silhouette began to fade.

As he disappeared, the illusory dome he had erected around the basin also disappeared.

"...!"

The supreme geniuses were stunned.

They saw hundreds of other geniuses staring at them from the cliffs. It instantly made them ask the question if this was one whole farce, but after learning from the others about what had happened, they were stunned.

The Divine Emperor of Death really did adhere to his words and allowed the ones who survived to leave. They hurriedly checked themselves, wondering if they were implanted with something, but couldn’t find anything.

They could only return to their powers and have their seniors or elders check.

Regardless, their expressions turned complicated.

The act of serving justice to the villainous supreme geniuses, something that they hadn’t been able to do because of the powers backing them and the challenges they would meet, was something that made them feel frustrated and helpless. Even in the secret realm, hunting them was nearly impossible since they were cunning and wouldn’t hesitate to commit atrocities that would make them puke.

Now, they couldn’t help but feel grateful to the Divine Emperor of Death inadvertently.

There were a few eyes shining amidst the confusion, believing that the Divine Emperor of Death was a calamity to- evil.

Nevertheless, there were a few who were overly righteous and wouldn’t dream of praising the Divine Emperor of Death even in their dreams.

One such person hurriedly moved to Houdini Terssky with an angered expression.

"You traitor! Why are you obeying the Divine Emperor of Death’s words? Do you want to be publicly executed?"

Houdini Terssky’s lips curled as he expected this to happen. His expression remained cool, "I don’t know what you’re talking about. All I’m doing is hunting some scum and exchanging their heads for rewards. Even without rewards, I would do it, but since there are rewards, I would do it with even more motivation. It doesn’t matter who is giving out the rewards since anyone who helps clear evil in any way possible is partaking in making the world a better place."

"..." That supreme genius turned speechless, unable to retort since he also had the same opinion.

However, he was also of the opinion that they couldn’t join evil to defeat evil. It will only end up aiding the other evil to grow!

"Don’t you know the Divine Emperor of Death has also announced rewards for those who can find Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion, Vile Enchanter Kieran Hartley, and Wicked Tamer Jaxon Harrow back then? It’s obvious they share enmity, and we would also like to see those evil souls disappear; so many are looking for them, hoping to get the bounty from the Divine Emperor of Death. We aren’t flouting any rules nor breaking any taboos." From the crowd, a secret admirer quipped with a sneer.

He also belonged to Houdini Terssky’s team.

"Oh, right. The Divine Emperor of Death also announced a bounty of one Low-Level Primarch Grade resource for the heads of the Six-Headed Hydra Race’s Hexadra Clan each. If they have a significant status, then the reward can rise twice or thrice or even obtain a Mid-Level Primarch Grade resource."

"What?" That righteous supreme genius was stunned.

Most of them- no, nearly all of them didn’t obtain any Primarch Grade resources since the major powers tended to take or reserve them with sheer numbers on their side. They also couldn’t easily harvest Primarch Grade resources since they lacked the necessary education to defend themselves from the instinctive reaction of the resource to defend itself. They might easily die from trying to harvest one.

Hence, this kind of bounty had a greater effect on them.

That righteous supreme genius was instantly approving of the mission, "It seems like the Divine Emperor of Death has some aversion to evil and some sense of justice despite being an innate calamity. Regardless, the Hexadra Clan has always escaped justice, and the higher-ups are embroiled in politics and are restricted by rules, but we, the young geniuses, are different. If we are able to get rid of these evil hydras here once and for all by crippling their young generation, our human world would take a better step into the future."

"Yeah!"

"Now you’re talking!"

"Let’s go hunt some corrupt and wicked geniuses who will only bring disaster to the human race!"

The others instantly echoed, leaving Houdini Terssky speechless.
