Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5215: Free Dessert?

Chapter 5215: Free Dessert?

"I- I recognize him. Isn’t he the Galehorn Kingdom King’s second uncle?"

"I heard he was living as a vagrant, but was extremely daring to do anything since he is known to be powerful. To think it was true..."

Whispers echoed before one of them roared.

"He possibly couldn’t have any connection with the Divine Emperor of Death. This means as long as we remain at the edge, we can also enjoy it!"

Another High-Level Exalt also raised their voice, "Everyone, let’s all jump together. I don’t believe he will kill us all. Let’s see how the Divine Emperor of Death can handle us if he truly wants to become this realm’s shadow ruler!"

"Yeah!"

The surrounding experts all raised their voices as though patting themselves on the back.

"Fools."

But before they could make a move, a cold voice echoed across the skies.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s gaze was as cold as ice but filled with a murderous darkness as she panned her gaze around.

"Do not disrupt the cultivation session of the Divine Emperor of Death. I’ll give that old man ten seconds to get out while the rest of you who have nothing to do in this place scram, maintain a distance of one hundred kilometers from the edge of the lake. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being ruthless."

"...!"

The crowd was evidently frightened as they took a few steps back the moment they tried to charge.

However, certain Peak Stage Exalts and Primarchs still entered the lake boldly.

They appeared to be either Grand Elders from major powers such as the Galehorn Kingdom, Abyssal Radiance Empire, Stillwater Profound Sect, Gale Burial Pavilion, and many other powers Davis had seen in the Bastion Cities.

There were also rogue cultivators who didn’t belong to any major power but were still very powerful.

All their prowess ranged from Level Nine Exalt to Level Thirteen Exalt Stage.

"Courting death."

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s spatial energy brimmed, but suddenly, heavenly flame energy also rose from the other end.

Venerable Knight Foredawn also surged with his cultivation base, his gaze full of warning.

The Divergents were given a reprieve, but that didn’t mean they could go killing others.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar glared at him.

Who did this Venerable Knight think he was in front of her? Even if he was an Absolute Primarch, so what?

She was an Omega Exalt Divergent. Her Law comprehension should be much more profound and more consolidated than the other party, not to mention she was a master in the fusion Laws of Twilight.

*Bang!*

At this moment, someone in the heavenly life lake erupted into a blood mist.

"..."

It caused everyone to turn in shock before they saw who had died, leaving them speechless and terrified.

It was none other than that old man who entered the heavenly life lake first.

He had erupted into a blood mist without any signs of attack falling on him! He was dead. Truly dead!

At that moment, they sensed his truesoul essence make its way to the center of the heavenly life lake. Instantly, they knew who was responsible for this murder.

It was none other than the Divine Emperor of Death!

He still had his eyes closed, but there was a faint smile on his lips.

*Bang!~*

Another Peak Exalt exploded into a blood mist, finally making the others in the heavenly lake rush out in terror.

"Wait!" A Level Eight Primarch raised his voice fully, but before he could even raise his breath, a dark chill encompassed his soul.

*Bang!~*

He exploded from the soul to the flesh, erupting like a bloody fountain.

The experts who had boldly plunged into the heavenly life lake began to falter one after another as an invisible tide of deathly karmic energy coiled around them like unseen serpents.

Those at the edges of the lake started to leave, but they still hoped to siphon even a fraction of the boundless life force. They found their bodies seizing as dark, ethereal wisps of karmic judgment manifested from the depths of their soul sea.

A Level Nine Exalt from the Gale Burial Pavilion clutched at his throat, his eyes widening in horror as black veins spider-webbed across his skin. His cultivation base, so meticulously forged over tens of millions of years, rippled like a collapsing pillar in an instant, and with a wet, explosive pop, his form disintegrated into a swirling mist of blood and shattered soul fragments.

Panic rippled through the remaining intruders.

Another rogue cultivator, a Peak Stage Exalt known for his ruthless exploits in the Southern Abyssal Tidal Sea, tried to flee by surging his spatial energy and darkness energy, but the deathly aura latched onto him like a predator claiming its prey. His movements slowed even as his own energy delayed all, if not most, karmic attacks. His immortal energy turned sluggish and corrosive, and within moments, his body bloated before bursting apart in a gruesome fountain of gore.

The heavenly life essence around him barely rippled, as if rejecting their unworthy presence entirely.

Screams echoed across the floating expanse as more followed. Grand Elders from the Abyssal Radiance Empire and Stillwater Profound Sect, their faces twisted in regret, exploded in rapid succession. Each death released a surge of truesoul essence that streamed unerringly toward Davis, nourishing his breakthrough.

"Stop! You dar-oahh!"

"Forgive me! My Cindermarsh Poison Toad Clan can help with taking over the rea-aaaaaa!"

"We don’t dare enter anymore! We’ll leave now-vlop!~"

They exploded one after another until there were no more experts left in the heavenly life lake. They had been purged quickly, a heavy silence descending over the area.

Neither the Heaven’s Warriors nor the Divergents reacted, their gazes still cold as they watched the Divine Emperor of Death use the strange death-karmic energy that the Celestial Transcendent dared not bear and could only deflect it back to him.

Davis opened his eyes at this moment as he gazed at the desserts.

To think people would be nice enough to gift him soul essences of this level- he supposed he should be thankful.

Nonetheless, he turned to look at them, his sapphire gaze full of killing intent.

"You all wanted to kill me, which is an unforgivable sin. However, trespassing into my heavenly lake and stealing the life essence- that’s an even more unforgivable sin. If you have a problem, go deal with the Supreme One and get him to open up the lake to the public. Otherwise, don’t even dare."

"...!"

The High-Level Exalts and Primarchs and those closer to the lake all felt like they could explode at anytime turned around and fled without saying a word.

With them having left, Davis returned to cultivating.

His absorption never stopped as his Chaotic Genesis Body Physique and Everlasting Samsara Tribunal Soul Physique kept drinking insane amounts of heavenly life essence.

However, with his soul sense fully encompassing the heavenly life lake, he sensed a strange crimson crystal hovering in the middle of the lake.

He recognized this as it was something that dropped like a remnant piece from the Desolate Source. He had wondered if the Celestial Transcendent had taken it away, but it didn’t seem like it as it rested in the middle of the ocean. He slowly pulled it towards him, choosing to not attract attention as he felt it might be something extremely good for him.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar watched with a satisfied gleam in her eyes. She exchanged a brief glance with Venerable Knight Foredawn, whose heavenly flames dimmed as he seemed to not dare target the Divine Emperor of Death.

She creased her brows.

For a moment, she wondered if they also held some respect towards Davis, as their hatred seemed to have considerably lessened.

She mused whether this was because the Heaven’s Will was no longer wrathful.

Regardless, she didn’t care.

Now all they needed to do was wait for Davis to finish his cultivation and power up before they could leave. However, she imagined that he might not want to leave for these seven days to plan for his goal of having a family member sit in this realm as a Realm Master.

Suddenly, she turned to look into the distance, in the direction of the Galaxy Wormhole Battlefield.

She could sense the unique presence of her flying palace that she gave to the Frostcloud Sword Empress for them to rendezvous.
