Chapter 5339: Fairy Qiyra’s Recovery
Chapter 5339: Fairy Qiyra’s Recovery
Davis had initially thought it was just a petty murder case by a Divergent who wanted to bring down the Phoenix Priestess of the Starshroud Family, including her jealous family members, but he had never imagined that there was much more to it.
He had seen astral stars from a close distance.
They were big and majestic. Many of these stars made up a constellation, so he could only imagine how many stars a Major Constellation would contain. If such a thing was nearly corrupted in a short amount of time from Alicia Starshroud’s death, then he began to wonder if that Divergent was the mastermind.
How could it be possible for an Exalt-level Divergent to corrupt tens of thousands of Exalt Grade Stars?
Was the other party an Omega Exalt-level character in the Astral Path to be able to do such a thing?
If this was the case, Davis felt that it was a pity he had killed the Storm Divergent in the Elemental Dimension with just one move from a cursed artifact. He should’ve asked more details on what the hell Divergent Stars truly were since the Storm Divergent was also using astral energy from Divergent Stars. He had regretted this quite a few times now since he had Xiesha, Arc, and Eldia’s well-being in mind.
Divergent Stars were now a problem plaguing his family, so he just couldn’t pretend as though he hadn’t heard it, making him wonder if he should tip this off to the Celestial Transcendent.
Nonetheless, he treated Lydia first.
He used Fairy Qiyra’s bed with permission, laying her down and letting her rest after completely healing her.
Fairy Qiyra went outside, flying around as though rediscovering how good it felt to use her cultivation again, although her face was cold as ever. Everyone swarmed her, congratulating her on her recovery.
Mingzhi was practically fawning over her, seeming to truly consider her as her master in her heart.
Laphria Rinmei watched from the window smilingly before turning to look at Davis as she walked over to him, "You’re so wonderful, like master. Many thanks for curing senior sister. Ah, if you don’t mind, I can make it so that Little Lydia didn’t lose her astral essence by regenerating it from whatever’s left- probably. It shouldn’t be much considering she’s not an Omega Exalt at the level of a World Hegemon."
Davis blinked before his smile became wry, "I would’ve taken that offer if Fairy Qiyra didn’t say the Grand Divine Phoenix Constellation was going to be corrupted."
Laphria Rinmei pouted, "Is that dangerous? Aren’t we all Divergents? Just tell senior sister Qiyra, and she’ll get rid of the corruption like it’s nothing. This time, the Divergent Stars won’t be able to devour her because she is not in a weak state anymore."
"Ah, it isn’t so simple." Davis sighed, "The Grand Divine Phoenix Constellation is in the First Layer, the First Astral Sea, so it’s unreachable by us unless we get to a Greater Realm. It cannot be dealt with by Fairy Qiyra unless she ascends, but then she would have her hands tied from being hunted. And I don’t think a Starshroud Family or a Divergent born in it or infiltrating it is capable of corrupting a Major Constellation that has tens of thousands of stars- at least not without alerting an entire Greater Realm."
"Ah~"
Laphria blushed, "I... I apologize. I didn’t know. I don’t know much about astral cultivation."
Davis calmly nodded, thinking that was the case.
He raised his hand and tried to grasp the empty air, trying to capture what little of astral energy he could sense from the astral sea, but it just wasn’t working anymore as it did when he was linked with Lydia. In fact, he felt his control over immortal energy weakening when he tried to control astral energy. It made sense considering he hadn’t cultivated a support cultivation base in his dantian using an astral cultivation method.
With a flick of his fingers, he sprinkled the shimmering astral energy in his palm into the air, discarding it decisively as he knew he couldn’t take any more complications into his already complicated cultivation.
Besides, he couldn’t fight with his fifth son for the title of the Emperor of Stars, could he?
If he got superb senses for it, what should he do?
"Ah..."
Davis raised his hand and ran his fingers through his blonde hair, feeling narcissistic for a moment before flicking his sleeves.
"Go on. I’ll watch over Lydia."
"Are you sure? You don’t want to talk to my senior sister?" Laphria blinked innocently.
"Go, just go."
Davis waved her off, causing Laphria to giggle cheekily before she flew off.
He watched her leave before inwardly contemplating, ’I should keep my stares to a minimum. Now everyone can tell that I’m trying to unveil their emotions, and have even shady intent beyond my position for some of them. Regardless, my stupid Will that wants to dominate cares less and less about what others are thinking anymore and even wants to confront. How infuriating- die! Learn some discipline again.’
He tapped his forehead, trying to teach it a lesson before sitting by Lydia’s side, gently caressing her forehead.
"You did fantastic. Saving an Omega Exalt, you can be proud of that for centuries to come."
His smile grew more fond.
It wasn’t until seven minutes later that Lydia opened her eyes groggily, flinching in pain lightly before she tried to sit up.
"My sweet Lydia, you’re awake. How are you feeling?" Davis asked worriedly.
Lydia cast a gaze at her father, and then realized she wouldn’t be in danger. She checked her cultivation that was at the Seventh Stage for the body, soul, and essence, and then circulated it using her cultivation method through the active usage of Amethyst Eversoul Radiance Physique, finding no problems as two waves of healing energy swept from her soul and shrouded her soul, amethyst light shining on her pink-white cherry-patterned robe.
She stopped and then uttered with a gleeful laugh, "As expected, when there are multiple Saints and Saintesses in the family, it’s hard to die or even get crippled."
"Haha, right?"
Davis chuckled, "Again, I cannot emphasize enough how great a task you have accomplished. You have saved an Omega Exalt. You could be proud of this for centuries- no, millions of years to come."
"Ahaha~"
Lydia giggled, her cheeks blushing healthily. She loved to be praised by her father. Just before she could response, another voice echoed from above as a person entered through the window.
"Time numbs emotions. When you have lived for so long, everything other than what you’re clinging to feels blander than ever."
Fairy Qiyra Darkstar appeared through the window, landing on the opposite side of the bed, "Today, you have saved me. I won’t ever forget this matter. You have my gratitude."
She appeared to be looking at Lydia when she said that.
Davis watched her intently before moving his gaze to the stunned Lydia.
He nudged her, causing her to react.
"It’s not a big deal." Lydia smilingly shook her head, "I have heard martial grandmother helped us a lot. It can’t compare. In the end, with the Grand Divine Phoenix Constellation being corrupted, it all worked out well."
’This sneaky little daughter... she retained consciousness for a while in intervals, huh...’ Davis laughed inwardly.
He didn’t use his Heart Intent actively to know if she was awake. He didn’t want her to feel the lingering resonance of the Perception Confluence, after all.
