Chapter 5374: Don’t Bother?
Chapter 5374: Don’t Bother?
Yufella descended through the open dome of Gralex’s obsidian palace.
She wore a dark blue robe and carried a serene air, her sapphire eyes as dark as the ocean’s depths. Her beauty was nearly on par with a Celestial Fairy. It was unknown whether it was natural, from inheriting her parents’ human looks, or if she had subconsciously projected the face of another human she’d known as a child, or when she first transformed into a human.
The air around her soared, forming a dragon’s tail as she slid on it and landed in between Skylia and Rakshira.
"I can’t pretend I didn’t hear that."
She said calmly as she glanced at the two of them before gazing at the person with the most authority here.
"Young Master Azariel, I do hope you will also consider me if you’re looking for someone who can be loyal to the Emperor. I, Yufella, am an important asset who is partly responsible for our sanctuary’s karmic formations to work and will be important in the future more than ever."
She stated in a polite tone, but her gaze was ardent as her sapphire eyes looked like they were set ablaze instead.
"..."
Azariel continued to take a sip.
Gralex, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed the drama he had set up.
’Now then... what are you going to say to them, Young Master? When there are subordinates who need your help that they would even go as far as to plead, do you have the courage to decline them and risk a chance to offend them? Or will you make them a promise just to appease their requests and risk offending your mothers?’
He inwardly chuckled as he sat down, ’When your father makes a promise, it’s never empty. I want to see whether you’re truly capable.’
Azariel finally placed the glass cup on the table and stood up, his hands crossed over each other behind his back.
"Everyone, the reason why I dared to call Fairy Vereina my mother is because Imperial Father has already shown great interest in her. I simply predicted that the time he would accept her wouldn’t be far off, but I truly don’t have any idea if imperial father wishes to be with any of you."
He paused, taking in their disappointed reactions before adding.
"However, I understand your requests and will do my best to ask Imperial Father when I leave and perhaps even direct him to make his stance clear."
"Ah, no need to push him." Skylia instantly raised her hands and shook them, "It’s best to leave boss be... lest he says he won’t."
"..."
"True." Rakshira nodded, "Many thanks for listening to our words, Young Master. We’ll seek him out later by ourselves when we have the chance."
"I understand, but it’s not needed. I won’t disturb you any longer." Yufella cupped her hands and left serenely.
"..."
Azariel could only blink.
They didn’t even want his father to make his stance clear, afraid that they might be permanently locked out of the opportunity to be with him. He felt this was insane. After all, which of these women didn’t have suitors? He bet many beasts tried giving out signals, only to be beaten up or killed.
Only Skylia and Rakshira were left, glaring at each other as though they didn’t let each other get ahead of themselves.
Vereina praised Azariel for his insight.
She gained more confidence that Davis had affectionate emotions towards her, and Azariel reconfirmed that he really wasn’t lying, saying he recognized the way his father would talk to his mothers, and that was similar to when his father had talked to her recently.
Vereina only grew more excited, wanting to reward Azariel for being a good son. However, she had nothing to offer as she was penniless. All the resources she earned, her soul physique ate them all.
Eventually, Skylia and Rakshira harrumphed and also left together.
However, Azariel advised them to seek out Mother Fiora and Mother Zenova respectively since they shared nearly the same attributes and would certainly be taken under their wing. As for Yufella, she was already under Tia’s wing, so there wouldn’t be a need to advise her.
"Whoa~ That was excellent, Young Master. You dealt with them smoothly without offending them. So awesome."
Gralex gave a thumbs up, nearly making Azariel fume.
Whose fault was this misunderstanding!?
Azariel suppressed the urge to punch and nodded, "Senior, I hope you won’t forget our deal. We’ll meet tomorrow. I still have some work left to do."
"Don’t worry." Gralex scoffed and waved him off.
Azariel and Vereina left together.
In the skies, Azariel opened his mouth, "Father isn’t at the estate, Mother Vereina."
"Ooh..." Vereina’s speed slowed, but she caught up again, "I’ll go visit Ellia then and maybe even meet that new girl, Jillian. A poison user who could cure mental afflictions with poison. Interesting..."
She said with an amused tone.
Azariel’s gaze flickered.
He remembered Vereina digesting the old witch, a Divine Exalt sealed in the Shadow Dimension, and was nearly killed by a team of Heaven’s Warriors led by Aunt Clara. Now that Vereina was seeking out such a figure, he wondered if it was for amusement or health reasons. Nonetheless, he didn’t involve himself since his mothers, who told him this, knew better.
However, he had completed his survey of the Magical Beast Dominion and decided who to bring with him since he wouldn’t be going alone either, as some people needed to be accompanying him, including one or two Exalts.
The most prominent candidate in his mind was naturally Azbel, the Nether Orb Cobra.
By the time he had exited the Nether Dimension along with Nyoran, Nadia, and the others, he was already a Level Nine Empyrean Beast due to the fortuitous encounters he had there. Like Illumina once had been, he was just a thin line away from breaking into the Exalt Beast Stage. Even becoming a True Exalt Beast wasn’t a dream for him since he had brought back a resource that would allow him to enter that stage.
The Shadow Dimension truly had many treasures worth risking their lives for.
It was also the place Illumina had spotted her chance to become a True Exalt Beast.
The second, or perhaps even the first, was Gralex, since he was also a hydra and had a smart head. The third was King, the Four-Eyed Azure Dragon. However, all of them lacked the evolution opportunity to enter the rank of a Grand Ancestral Beast, so he intended to speak to his father about this matter.
Without evolution, they couldn’t even break through to the Exalt Beast Stage.
After all, a Great Saint Rank Bloodline’s magical beast had a hard bloodline limit at the peak of the Empyrean Beast Stage.
Suddenly, he thought of something that distracted his mind.
"Mother Vereina," Azariel opened his mouth, "Is the reason why you don’t force Imperial Father to accept you despite your obvious power and ability to enter the Exalt Stage quickly and even become an Alpha Exalt easily, also the same as them?"
"..."
Vereina blinked. She blushed a bit, looking away, "Don’t ask me. Believe what you see."
"I see."
Azariel’s speed slowed, and he shot in another direction, leaving Vereina stranded and having no excuse to enter the Davis Family’s estate like she had a free ticket.
"You-"
She pointed at him, but he was already gone.
As for Azariel, he had changed course, heading to the Misty Pill Palace to meet the woman whose heart he’d apparently stolen with his handsomeness, some of his mothers encouraging him to go meet her if he had the chance.
While the son went to see his secret admirer instead of following the arranged marriage script, the father was in the northern icy lands, throwing an icy phoenix on the bed.
The two of their hearts chilled in knowing what they were about to do while they had their reasons to not go meet them in this way, yet, it was damn near exciting.
