Chapter 923:- Inside Scattered Zone
Chapter 923:- Inside Scattered Zone
"You can sit and relax."
Laura wasn't polite. She nodded and then took out a chair to sit down behind Aditya. "This is way better than fighting that Ancient Komodo Crawler." Just that thought of facing that scary creature again made her shiver. She really hated these creatures.
"I can freely use my strength without needing to hold back."
"But on the other hand, I have been itching to try some new ways to use my powers." Earlier, he used a laser beam like Superman to turn the small Desert Crawler to ashes.
As the undead skeletons neared them, his eyes once again turned red. The red glow in his eyes kept getting tense until he fired two powerful laser beams from his eyes.
Boooooom...….!!!!
Laura curiously watched as the red Laser beams destroyed the army of the undead skeletons. None of the undead Skeletons were able to dodge or block his attack. Their bodies started to turn to ash due to the intense heat.
"Interesting!"
"I can make this attack even more intense!" But since he wasn't used to using his Crimson Flames in this manner, it was starting to put strain on his eyes and the nerves of his eyes. But he felt he could keep going at a much higher intensity for another 20 seconds.
"Aha.....!!!" The Two Laser Beams became more intense. Both beams had grown double their original width.
Now, even Laura could feel the intense heat within that attack.
There were close to a few hundred Skeleton Undead, and within 40 seconds, almost everyone left of them was wiped out by his attack.
"Aditya, stop!" Her sharp tone made him stop.
When he stopped, there were only a few more Undead Skeletons left.
"What?"
"If you kill those undead Skeletons as well, then this place will automatically bring us back to the desert where that Ancient Komodo Crawler still might be waiting." It hadn't even been two minutes since they came to the Zone. Even if the Monster had left, it still might be nearby, and as soon as they got out, it might sense their presence and chase after them again.
Hearing her words, Aditya quickly understood.
"You are right!"
"Then let me do this!" The next second, he appeared behind the three remaining Undead Skeletons. He took out an artefact that could suppress the Cultivation. After putting the artefacts around their neck, he tied them to a pillar with a very strong rope that was enchanted with Rune Magic.
"Now, we can stay and rest here until tomorrow morning." This was a much safer option than sleeping in some cave where they would need to constantly watch out for other Magic Animals or other travellers.
Even in a place like this, there were Bandits who killed and robbed travellers of their valuable possessions. And they often disguised themselves as travellers. Sometimes, some bandit groups would even disguise themselves as the escorting groups.
He came to her side and then took out a wooden chair and sat down.
"It's really hard to think that this whole desert was tamed and changed by the Ancestors of the Dwarves."
"Those Dwarves' Ancestors even managed to drive the rulers of this place, who were the Desert Crawlers and Ancient Komodo Crawlers, to the brink of extinction."
"All these factors make me wonder, if the Dwarven Ancestors were so powerful, then how did they even fall? How did the Dwarves lose so much of their former glory and power?"
While listening, Aditya took out a big tent from his storage ring. The tent looked twice as big as a normal tent. But inside, there was more than enough space for ten people to sleep in it.
"Who knows?" He replied as he began setting the tent.
"The history of the Main Continent is too big and Complex." There was a reason why the Main Continent was the end goal for most cultivators. Or even if it wasn't their goal, to reach their goal, 99.9999% cultivators would have no choice but to come to this Continent.
"For example, from what I have heard, the History of the Celestial Dragon Empire is very deep. One of the reasons why that Empire was able to maintain its strength despite changes in time, trends, and regional powers is because every Emperor of that Empire had the power to adapt to change."
"How many Powerhouses lasted as long as the Celestial Dragon Empire?" There was a hint of pride in Aditya's voice. Even if he was no longer a part of that Empire, it would be impossible for him to not have any feeling towards that empire. After all, that place was his birthplace, and birthplaces always have a special meaning to everyone.
"On the matter of longevity, there have been so many powerful factions, empires, dynasties and cultivation sects, but none of those have lasted multiple years. Your Celestial Dragon Empire is an exception."
"Most perish because the latter generation leaders are incompetent or arrogant. Some perish because of their greed. A good example of that could be the Dune Sovereignty Empire. Some get backstabbed."
"All these factors make me wonder whether, tens of thousands of years from now, when our successors take over our empires, they will be capable enough to preserve our legacy."
Hearing this, Aditya also stopped and thought for a second.
"Who knows! But one thing is clear: I wouldn't let any incompetent descendant of mine sit on the throne." Aditya planned to live for millions of years. Obviously, he won't be the King of the Istarin Empire for millions of years. But that doesn't mean he would allow his successors to do whatever they want with his Empire.
'I built this Place! Brick By Brick!'
'I nurtured this Empire like it was my own Baby.'
'There is no way I would let my Empire fall because of some stupid decision that my descendant took.'
"We are thinking too far ahead." Aditya looked at Laura, and both of them smiled.
He then went back to setting up the tent.
Once he was done, he took out some firewood and began setting up a campfire, as the place was growing darker with the approach of sunset.
"Would you ever take the Throne of the Celestial Dragon Empire?" Laura couldn't help but ask.
Hearing this, Aditya stopped and then resumed what he was doing.
"Curious?"
"It felt like you still hold that Empire in very high regard, even though you are stripped of your title as the Crown Prince and thrown away."
"Well, there is no denying that I still feel something for that Empire." He used to think he felt nothing for that Empire or its people. But strangely enough, as they entered the Tunnel World and got closer to reaching the Main Continent, he began remembering good things about that Empire.
The feelings that he had buried for so long were starting to come out.
"To answer your question, I heard that My Cousin was chosen to be the New Ruler. So there is no hope." From what he remembered, although his cousin sometimes showed signs of jealousy, he still had the qualities to become a good Ruler.
'Now that I look back, I was too immature and naive to notice that he was jealous of me.'
'But he was good at politics, and he was also considered a genius Cultivator.' There were a few other admirable traits about him that made him even more fit to be a Ruler.
"And it's not like I am having any thoughts of the Throne. I am the Emperor of the Istarin Empire, and one day, I will make sure that the Istarin Empire becomes a bigger and more powerful Empire than the Celestial Dragon Empire."
"You know, now that he is the Emperor, I wonder if he will try to find a way to sever the contract that binds you with the Seven Goddesses." Saying that, Laura's cheeks slightly turned red as she realised that she was also a half-goddess, and it meant that on paper, she was also his fiancée.
"And then marry all Seven Goddesses." He once again paused. Laura's words made sense.
Back then, his cousin did show signs of jealousy whenever the conversation about the Marriage Contract was brought up.
He looked at her and said with a light smile, "Well, if he really dares to do that, then I'll kill him… and take down the whole Celestial Dragon Empire with him."
His love for his homeland, the Celestial Dragon Empire… his bond with his cousin… all of that was on one side. And on the other side was his woman.
If someone placed both sides on a weighing scale… his woman's weight would pull it all the way down. And the other side? It would be so light that even a feather would feel heavier.
