Chapter 922:- Trapped
Chapter 922:- Trapped
"But why is he attacking us?" The Desert Crawler was extremely fast despite being so large.
Hearing this, Laura rolled her eyes. "Didn't you just kill a baby from its race?"
"This thing, which seems to be an Ancient Komodo Crawler, is heading towards us before I kill that baby Desert crawler."
"I thought the dwarves had long killed all Ancient Komodo Crawlers." Before the dwarves settled in this desert and claimed the entire Mount Soulripper, Ancient Komodo Crawlers and Desert crawlers used to rule this entire desert. This whole desert used to be their hunting ground.
Before the dwarves, there had been multiple attempts to conquer this desert and build civilisation here, but every attempt ended in failure because of the Ancient Komodo Crawlers.
"It clearly did not." Though their most Ancient Komodo Crawlers died when the dwarves took over, there were still some left, hiding underground and silently protecting the last of their race members.
When a Desert Crawler reaches 10,000 years of age and attains Peak Fifth Order strength, it can undergo evolution to become an Ancient Komodo Crawler.
In the desert, this thing moved like a fish in water, despite its immense size.
The Ancient Komodo Crawler was 347 meters long (approximately 1,138 feet), making it a true monster of the desert. Its body was thick and wide, around 42 meters (138 feet) across at the belly.
Each of its legs was about 28 meters (91 feet which made it really tall. It was close to the height of a 9-story building. Its claws were longer than a small Flying Ship, and each claw had the power to crush rocks like they were made of paper.
The creature's mouth alone was 39 meters (128 feet) wide, big enough to swallow an entire fishing ship in one bite.
Its teeth were each 5.2 meters (17 feet); its teeth were long and sharper than stone spears and as tall as a two-story house.
"What should we do?" Laura asked while glancing back. The Ancient Komodo Crawler was no different from the Desert Crawler. The only difference between them was their huge size.
Those red, menacing eyes filled her with fear.
"We cannot keep running like this!"
This thing was moving too fast. Even if they ran at their full speed, they still would struggle to outrun this massive thing. In the desert, this thing was moving just too fast.
"I know!" Just then, the Ancient Komodo Crawler opened its mouth and fired a massive, powerful golden beam towards them.
The attack was too fast. Fortunately, Aditya was keeping an eye on the monster while running and was able to escape before the attack could reach them.
Swoosh!!!
Just before the golden beam could touch them, the space around them started distorting, and they disappeared.
The golden beam travelled all the way outside of the Sand Mirage desert and hit a random Boulder.
Boooooooommmm!!!!!
This ended in a massive explosion that shook a part of the desert. What was left as the aftermath was a huge straight canal without water from the desert to Boulder.
Meanwhile, Aditya and Laura teleported 100 meters above the ground. He did not waste a single second before teleporting 2000 meters away to an area that they had just covered, and knew that this was a safe area to teleport. Teleporting in a random direction was not an option, as they could teleport directly onto some scattered Zone and get trapped inside.
[ - 500 Mana ]
This teleportation alone cost him 500 Mana.
In this desert, Teleportation skills are heavily restricted. The fabric of space in this desert is 5 times stronger. So it requires 5 times more Mana to perform a simple teleportation. So what should have cost 100+ Mana now costs him 500+ Mana.
This only reminded him why he didn't use Teleportation in this desert to travel. And also, with the locations of the scattered zones, even if he did use teleportation, the risk of them getting trapped inside one was just too high. Because Aditya couldn't see the scattered zones, they only had a map of the area. Some areas are covered in densely packed scattered zones, leaving them no option but to travel along the borders of each scattered zone. And in such a scenario, teleporting to travel wasn't really an option.
"I thought I was gonna die!"
"You won't die! And this isn't over yet!" Both of them glanced back only to see that the ancient monster was already running towards them at full speed.
"We have to do something. We cannot keep teleporting." Even Laura knew the huge cost of Teleportation.
The desert covered their tracks very quickly. Aditya took a massive risk by deciding to teleport 2000 meters away. His teleportation relied more on luck. Even with his enhanced vision, it wasn't easy to spot which trial they had used to travel here.
"We have two options. First, we fight this monster. However, due to the Scattered Zones that restrict our movements and the inability to fly for more than 5 seconds, this will make the entire battle extremely challenging. If it were a Beginner 6th order or even a mid-sixth order, I would have chosen this option. However, when facing a peak sixth-order powerhouse, we cannot overcome those disadvantages. This is where my second option comes, or more like our second option comes."
"Since any monster cannot get inside the scattered zones, I suggest that we purposely trap ourselves inside one of them." Hearing this, Laura hesitated.
"At least, by the time we get out of the scattered zone, this guy should be gone." But it wasn't certain that this would work because even a magic animal of that power had human-level intelligence. Now, everything depended on its mindset. Maybe it believed that with both of them trapped, their situation was hopeless, so there was no reason to stay, and it would simply leave.
"Let's go with the second option." Laura was very determined. Within a few seconds, she had made up her mind.
Hearing this, he was surprised. Even now, he was still unsure of what option to pick.
"Or should we take the risk and keep using teleportation?" Anyways, they had plenty of Mana recovery pills and potions that the Goddess of Alchemy made for them. Even if he ran out of Mana, he could simply consume the pills and potions that Julia made for him and keep going.
"No! Even if we continue like this, at some point, either the Monster will catch up to us or we will run out of luck and fall into one of the Scattered Zones."
"Let's do it now, while the Crawler is away from us."
"Let's not make it look intentional. Who knows, given its intelligence, it might decide to stay."
"Let's make this whole thing unintentional!"
The Monster was about 200 meters away. It decided to fire another golden beam to destroy the foreigner. As it opened its gigantic mouth to fire a beam of light, those outsiders once again teleported. They teleported 4000 meters away.
Luckily, nothing happened. They teleported again, but this time, they weren't so lucky.
The area that they stepped into was a Scattered Zone.
The moment their shoes touched the sand, the whole area lit up in a bright flash. Only the area of the Scattered Zone lights up. This phenomenon allowed the Ancient Creature to see the shape of this particular Zone, which looked like a diamond with uneven sides.

Scene Change_____
When Aditya and Laura opened their eyes, they found themselves in an underground hall. The hall appeared to be extremely big, almost half the size of the Dragon Palace.
At the same time, both of them experienced a sudden Mana loss. Within a second, they had lost half of their Mana. This mysterious place had drained half of their Mana. But one thing that Aditya and Laura were glad about was the fact that they were no sunlight and they did not feel like they were gonna die of thirst anymore.
"Finally!" Aditya felt relieved even with half of his Mana Drained.
"Yeah! I think getting ourselves trapped in one of the Scattered Zones was the best choice." Both of them took out a blue shiny potion that was in a small transparent glass bottle.
After drinking the Mana Recovery potion, their Mana immediately started to recover.
Laura felt her Mana would recover within a few minutes.
For Aditya, it would take anywhere between six and eight minutes to recover his Mana. His Mana Recover was just too enormous; that defied logic because no Peak 4th-order cultivator would have that much Mana.
"Do you have enough Mana to fight?" Laura asked as they watched the summoned monsters surround them. The monsters ran from all directions in the hall.
"Of course. I can comfortably end this fight." Aditya was very relaxed.
"You can sit and relax." The monsters that were summoned from half of their Mana were undead skeletons. And the monster's strength reflected their own cultivation. About half of the Monsters' cultivation was Peak 4th-order, and half had Laura's cultivation strength.
So it was a really easy battle.
"This is way better than fighting that Ancient Komodo Crawler."
"And also here, I can freely use my strength without needing to hold back."
