Dungeon of Lust: Managing Otherworldly Beauties

Chapter 195: [Stay Safe]

Chapter 195: [Stay Safe]

’First things first...’

Vale looked down at the blue crystal hanging around his neck.

[Nexus of Beginnings] - [We all come from somewhere. But there was once a time when that somewhere was one — when the nexus of existence wasn’t a tie but a singular entity.]

’So, like... is vagueness going to be a theme in this world. Because, what the hell does that mean?’

Under the description were two Enchantments.

Enchantments: [Dimensional Storage] [Unload]

Thankfully, the descriptions of these were much easier to understand. Dimensional Storage was the ability that allowed him to put things in the nexus, which was apparently a tiny portal to a pocket dimension.

’Mias would probably love to hear this.’

Understanding the pendant could very well unlock a secret of the portals to other worlds.

But besides that...

[Unload] - [Sapping the pendant of Aether will temporarily dispel the connection and eject everything.]

Before he’d read it, Vale had assumed it was the ability allowing him to pull things out, but no.

’There was a lot of wisdom in that sentiment Greed said.’

Never assume.

’At least I can finally empty the water now...’

Vale would feel much better once all of that was gone and he could store the map somewhere safe and close by, instead of in the Dungeon Core.

And speaking of the Dungeon Core...

’It’s... an Item?’

Vale’s eyes had accidentally glossed over it when a description had popped up. Not that the description said much of anything. But it was curious that one popped up at all.

[???] - [???]

’I wonder...’

The glasses were ranked UR, the second-highest class, third including Vice.

’Can it only assess things at or under its rank?’

Vale had no particular way to prove his hypothesis, but there was another hint pointing toward that answer.

Despite the Throne of Lust being his, the glasses couldn’t discern what it was. When he looked at it, it also read:

[???] - [???]

’I see.’

Next on Vale’s list was another Item from the Starter Kit, his pickaxe, C-rank [Reshaper].

[Reshaper] - ["Why is something so simple this hard to make?!" a man cried at his desk, his head pressed against his hands.]

Enchantments: [Convergence]

[Convergence] - [???]

’Well, that’s odd...’

The description was a quote.

Beyond that, it was a C-rank Item, but the glasses couldn’t read its Enchantment’s description.

’Is it because it’s linked to the Dungeon Core?’

Curiously, Vale looked at his wrist and at the R-ranked [Embrace]. The bracers which could expand into armor.

[Embrace] - [The cold hands of bronze warm only in the heart of battle.]

Enchantments: [Compact] [Expand]

’How simple.’

Vale could read the armor’s Enchantment descriptions with ease, but they were nothing special.

’So, is it simply because the pickaxe is tied to the Dungeon Core?’

Vale looked at the next named Item in the Starter Kit.

[Whip of Beginnings] - [A thorny whip befitting the path its master must walk.]

It had no Enchantments, and quite an odd description.

It didn’t reveal much to him other than the fact that it was most likely created for him.

’But then, who created it?’

Who was the voice of the system?

If the Dungeon Core were an Item, who engineered it?

Who exactly brought him here?

Was it Lust? Despair? Hope? Someone else? All of them?

Vale shook his head

Finally, there was one remaining named Item from the Starter Kit...

[Under Where] - ["The vessel they take over will wake up naked, right? Yeah. I should probably send them some underwear to be nice," a man laughed to himself as he tinkered with a dial.

"But where did I put that pair?" The man looked under his desk. "Ah! Found it.]

Enchantments: [Unsoiled]

[Unsoiled] - [Naturally cleanse all impurities over time.]

’Another quote?’

Who the hell was making these items, and why was that the description?

The rest of the Items from the Starter Kit were all nameless and mundane, so nothing special about them. Meaning, it was now time to look at the Items he had acquired himself.

Before he got too involved doing that...

There was something he’d noticed.

Despite the [Dawn’s Eye] being ranked SR. It was quite common for Vale; he had around thirty. And because he had an ample supply, a few were left at convenient places, affixed to the ceiling in case Awilix needed them.

Vale, as he looked over [Under Where], had noticed the description of the orb embedded in the throne room ceiling pop up. While he was about to ignore it, already having read the description of his personal [Dawn’s Eye], that’s when he realized something odd.

Very odd.

The Dawn’s Eye in the ceiling had a different description.

His personal one read: ’Oh, spider of heaven who looks upon the brink of day.’

But the one in the ceiling had a different description.

[Dawn’s Eye] - [A hundred eyes, reflecting destruction.]

But despite the different description, it held the same [Luminous] Enchantment.

’Umm...’

Curiously, Vale took his spare Dawn’s Eye from the Nexus of beginnings.

[Dawn’s Eye] - [Your web is the net catching the fallen heavens.]

’What?’

Did...

’Do they all have different descriptions?’

Vale got up and walked down the hallway and stood outside of Ximena’s room, where another Dawn’s Eye was stationed.

[Dawn’s Eye] - [Your eyes see Despair and are the key to his freedom.]

’Despair?’

’His freedom?’

Vale hadn’t even been that curious about the Item before, but now?

There was obviously something weird about it.

Something that had to do with Despair.

Vale pondered the possible implications as he wandered into the master bedroom, but before he could sit on the bed, his eyes went wide, and his rumination on the Dawn’s Eye drowned out.

’Huh?’

[Stay Safe] - [Miach. I’ll always be watching you and praying to Celestia for your safety. Stay safe, brother.]

Enchantments: [Tracker]

Curse: [Imprecise]

While the description wasn’t the most alarming thing in the world...

[Tracker] - [Relays location to Enchantress]

[Imprecise] - [The tracker is always slightly off]

Vale shuddered as he remembered what both Greed and Mias had said.

’A band of Celestia Knights was nearby investigating Liora.’

And if this robe was a tracker and Miach, whoever he was, was from Celestia...

Vale gripped the robe and ripped it from his bed.

’They came here looking for me.’

Vale clutched the fabric in his hand.

He knew it was no coincidence that he came to possess such an item.

’That damned oracle.’
