Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 3057: Eternal Body

Chapter 3057: Eternal Body

Success.

Despite the scripture’s nine elements forming the foundation of the technique as a whole, the first stage was heavily focused on metal.

The transformation was immediately noticeable.

His skin became denser and tougher, able to withstand minor cuts without even breaking the surface. Beneath it, the metal-aligned weave strengthened his flesh, turning his body into something closer to living armor than ordinary flesh.

Heat spread beneath his skin as the entire weave rearranged itself. Every nerve seemed to awaken at once, allowing Emery to sense things his body had never been able to perceive before.

He almost laughed out loud at the strange sensation.

His entire body felt incredibly alive.

The successful comprehension also brought an unexpected reward.

[Your understanding of the Law of Nature has increased.]

Elated, Emery didn’t hesitate to move directly into the second stage.

This one also contained three restrictions, though they were noticeably more intricate than those of the first stage. Even so, with the Mark of Divinity revealing the hidden structure and the Astral Link Artifact helping him manipulate the spiritual threads, Emery managed to break one restriction each day.

After three days, he successfully mastered the second stage.

[Second Fold — Eternal Flesh]

The same nine-element foundation underpinned the entire scripture, but this fold leaned heavily toward earth.

The change was subtle at first. His flesh became denser and more resilient, better able to absorb and distribute impact. Rather than simply yielding under force, his body seemed to absorb the shock like packed earth absorbing the weight of a footstep.

[Battle Power increased exponentially.]

By the third day of cultivating this fold, exhaustion had begun to catch up with him.

It wasn’t the usual fatigue that settled into his muscles after strenuous training. This exhaustion seemed to sink all the way into his bones, the price of keeping the Mark of Divinity active while simultaneously forcing his body through constant structural changes.

Emery took a few hours of rest before pushing through once again.

Each time he successfully broke a restriction, the exhaustion would briefly fade, replaced by a rush of satisfaction as his body settled into a slightly stronger state than it had been when he woke that morning.

The third fold followed a similar rhythm.

Three restrictions.

One at a time.

By now, Emery’s comprehension was becoming faster. Having finally understood the underlying structure of the scripture, he no longer had to spend as much time figuring out what each restriction represented.

[Third Fold — Eternal Muscle]

This time, the dominant element was wind.

His muscle fibers became lighter and more responsive, allowing his body to react faster and sharpening his reflexes. Every movement seemed to require less effort, while the power behind each motion remained unchanged.

[Battle Power increased exponentially.]

Days continued to pass.

By the time Klea finally sent word that the formation array for the True Clone was ready, two weeks had already gone by.

The news meant he now had roughly two months before the Tartarus mission.

Emery acknowledged the update, but he didn’t stop.

He still wasn’t finished.

The fourth fold proved considerably harder than the previous stages.

Emery eventually decided to call upon his Khaos Seeds directly. Six of them responded within a short time, their minds connecting with his through the Voidweave. With six additional minds sharing the burden, Emery was able to gradually consolidate the first three folds properly before turning his attention fully toward the fourth.

Even with their assistance, the fourth restriction resisted for nearly a week.

By the time it finally broke, Emery’s hands were shaking so badly.

[Fourth Fold — Eternal Bone]

This fold was dominated by ice.

The bones throughout his body became increasingly dense and resilient, gradually approaching a state that could almost be described as unbreakable. They became rigid enough to withstand forces that would have shattered them outright before.

[The Fifth Fold — Eternal Meridian]

Lightning-bound, following not long after. Energy moved through his meridians with none of the resistance it once had, every technique drawing on his reserves more cleanly than it ever had before.

[Battle Power increased exponentially.]

Another two weeks passed. Emery had committed to finishing all six folds properly, and he held to it, though full consolidation of everything he’d broken through so far took longer than any single fold had on its own. Ten days more for the last of the restrictions to give way, and then, finally—

Skin. Flesh. Muscle. Bone. Meridian.

[Sixth Fold — Eternal Organ]

Water-bound, closing the set. Every organ in his body settled into something adaptable, self-correcting, resilient in a way flesh alone had no right to be.

All sixteen top-grade beast cores finished burning down almost simultaneously, their remaining essence completely absorbed into Emery’s physique alongside the transformations granted by the scripture.

The system responded.

[Battle Power increased exponentially.]

[Calculating physique...]

[Battle Power — 3585 → 4150]

Another 20% increase on top of his already formidable physique.

And this was without activating a single cultivation technique or transformation.

This was his raw baseline.

Nothing borrowed. Nothing activated.

From his exceptional half-blood physique, to the Star Beast Refinement Art, and now the addition of the Ninefold Eternal Body Scripture, Emery had pushed his physical body to an extraordinary level.

If there had been a reliable way to compare physical strength among Grand Magus, Emery suspected he might now possess one of the strongest refined bodies among them.

Emery sat quietly for a long moment, savoring the result.

He could feel the changes throughout his entire body—not merely in his muscles and bones, but in every part of his physical foundation.

The scripture’s true purpose was becoming clearer.

Beyond the increase in raw strength, his stamina and spiritual recovery had both risen dramatically. It no longer felt like a simple improvement. Instead, it felt as though the scripture had laid down an entirely new foundation for his body, one capable of supporting a level of regeneration he had never experienced before.

And alongside the surge in his understanding of the Law of Nature, something else appeared.

A faint, almost imperceptible connection to the Path of Undying.

Emery had successfully comprehended the six initial stages of the Supreme’s art, breaking through 24 of the 81 restrictions.

He briefly examined the seventh stage and understood why the first six were called the initial folds.

They were only the foundation.

The next three folds were where the true power of the art would begin to emerge.

Emery couldn’t help but wonder what kind of transformation his body would undergo if he managed to comprehend all nine folds. How much deeper would his understanding of the Law become? How much more of the Path of Undying would be revealed to him?

And perhaps...

There might even be a trace of Origin hidden within it.

The thought alone made Emery excited.

Unfortunately, that excitement quickly faded when he sensed the profound restrictions guarding the final three folds. The difficulty was on an entirely different level. Even with the Mark of Divinity and the Astral Link Artifact, he could tell that breaking through them would likely take months or even years.

Six folds were more than enough for now.

Emery spent the entire following day testing the new limits of his body, allowing the changes to settle completely before finally stopping.

Less than one month remained.

It was time to build the True Clone.
