Chapter 3064: Silkbind Gu
Chapter 3064: Silkbind Gu
The project began with the creation of the raw vessel.
Fortunately, the Undying True Clone Body Scripture contained some details on creating a Magus-grade body. Unlike the original process, this version did not require a Grand Magus corpse, though it still demanded a small amount of blood essence and a portion of flesh to serve as the foundation for the new body.
With Emery’s true body unavailable, that burden naturally fell to the next best source.
The dark avatar was not particularly happy about it.
"You need more?" he complained, irritation clear in his voice.
He had already been forced to return several times, donating another limb and another portion of his blood essence each time while the light avatar worked on the vessel for hours.
Two weeks and eight failed attempts later, the vessel finally stabilized, forming a complete Magus-grade body.
But that was only the first step.
The real challenge was next.
Nothing about this part had ever been properly tested before.
"Alright. Experiment One."
For the first attempt, the light avatar followed the scripture exactly as written, attempting to synchronize his soul with the empty vessel.
The result was an immediate failure.
There was no tribulation or dramatic backlash. The soul core simply shattered in the middle of the process, violently ejecting the light avatar before the newly formed body began to crumble and dissolve.
"Don’t get discouraged. The result was within expectations."
The dark avatar, however, wasn’t nearly as optimistic.
He had once again been called back from the frontline to provide another limb and another portion of his blood essence, leaving for battle again before his limb had even fully regenerated.
A second raw vessel finished forming several hours later. Its surface was still slightly unstable, flesh rippling faintly as the newly formed body struggled to maintain its shape. Around the same time, Klea’s guest finally arrived at Neo Terra.
"Thank you for your willingness to help, Instructor Bael."
Grand Magus Bael arrived carrying a small lacquered case. Its interior was lined with soft moss to preserve the delicate contents, divided into six individual compartments. Each held a single cocoon no larger than a peanut, their pale surfaces gently pulsing with life and radiating a faint warmth.
"Willing isn’t quite the word I’d choose, Master Klea." He handed the case over without ceremony. "Though I admit I’m still surprised you managed to talk my own faction leader into this."
He opened the case slightly and explained its contents.
Each cocoon contained a Tier 5 Gu—the Silkbind Gu, a superior-grade specimen even in its dormant state. It was the same variety given to the most excellent students of Hall 48 who were ready to break into the Magus realm.
The Silkbind Gu had been bred and raised entirely by the Mammon Clan. Their bloodline had been refined for generations, making the creatures exceptionally stable and reliable as long as the accompanying bonding method, [Bloodsilk Resonance], was followed precisely.
Bael handed over the complete technique alongside the case.
"I don’t need to know the details of your plan." He paused at the doorway, giving Klea a knowing look. "But if you have questions, you know how to reach me."
With the six carefully preserved Gu in hand, the second phase of the project could finally begin in earnest.
Klea glanced into the case at the six small cocoons and offered a faint, knowing smile.
"Looks like we only get six tries."
The light avatar didn’t rush into implantation. Research came first.
Fortunately, the light avatar had already spent time studying Gu-related parasites, and even extensive research on the Scourge parasites. That groundwork made the Tier 5 Silkbind Gu far less mysterious than it might otherwise have been.
The real difficulty was figuring out how to reconcile the Mammon Clan’s bonding method with a vessel specifically constructed according to the Undying Clone Scripture. The two systems had never been designed to work together, and even the slightest incompatibility could cause the entire process to collapse.
The second month came and went amid research and experimentation. During that time, the light avatar found himself no longer particularly interested in trading places with the dark avatar.
Somewhere amid the repeated tests, the project had stopped feeling like an obligation and started to feel like something of his own. His fascination with the Gu only deepened with every experiment. It was a creature born from nature, yet somehow touched by the Laws of Heaven and Earth in a way he found increasingly intriguing.
His first attempt came two weeks later.
It failed.
Three more attempts followed over the next two weeks, each ending in the same miserable result—the vessel collapsed, and the Silkbind Gu died with it.
Four failures in total.
Four precious Silkbind Gu had been consumed, leaving behind nothing but a growing understanding of exactly where the process continued to break down.
Running low on both patience and materials, the light avatar finally sought out Ronan directly for advice through the Cosmic Palace.
Ronan listened to what he was attempting and looked more amused than anything else. Then, unexpectedly, his amusement turned into genuine interest.
Decades ago, Ronan himself had been deceived by Occulus spies. He had unknowingly carried one of their implanted parasites within his body for years before finally discovering the truth. That experience had given him a practical understanding of parasite behavior that proved surprisingly useful for the problem facing the Undying Clone body.
With Ronan’s guidance, the fifth attempt began.
They changed the clone recipe and adjusted several of the formations to better accommodate the Gu parasite. Once everything was prepared, the synchronization process began.
The light avatar carefully connected his soul to the new body, guiding the Silkbind Gu into resonance with his energy.
For a moment, everything seemed stable.
Then the connection broke.
The fifth attempt still failed.
However, it came close enough for them to finally identify the flaw in the process. They now knew exactly what needed to be changed.
Three months after the project began, the sixth and final attempt was initiated.
This time, it finally succeeded.
A new body stood before them, almost identical to Emery. It looked slightly younger, with light-brown hair and a much softer, calmer aura.
[Magus Realm — Crescent Moon]
[Battle Power: 1920]
The body possessed only around fifty percent of Emery’s true physique, but for a Magus Realm individual, such physical strength was already beyond any comprehension.
His bloodline gene was also completely intact, along with the light avatar’s mental capabilities.
There was only one difference. At the center of his soul core lay the Silkbind Gu, no longer a cocoon but a Tier 6 larva.
Heaven’s Law had finally been tricked.
The second Undying Clone successfully formed, its core synchronizing directly with the Silkbind Gu rather than attempting to create another independent soul core.
Given the light avatar’s considerable comprehension of the Laws, nurturing the new body toward the Grand Magus realm seemed less a question of possibility and more a matter of time.
Klea, however, already had other plans in motion.
She looked at him with a smile that carried just a little too much satisfaction.
"This is just the start. Your mission will begin soon enough."
