Chapter 3065: Gu Cultivator
Chapter 3065: Gu Cultivator
It was a strange feeling.
Having a foreign being reside within his core took him longer than expected to get used to.
Not because the parasite was intrusive—quite the opposite. Once the Bloodsink Resonance bond finally settled properly, the Silkbind Gu no longer felt like a foreign presence at all. It became something closer to a second, quieter heartbeat tucked behind his own, a warm thread woven directly into his core. It remained there without demanding his attention, occasionally stirring whenever his intent sharpened toward something, almost as if it were listening and responding.
He had expected to resent it.
He didn’t.
His divine sense finally allowed him to see the parasite clearly.
Strangely, it looked different from the descriptions he had received. It was a small, snow-white, silky worm-like creature, but a faint prismatic sheen covered its back, shifting subtly as the light caught it.
Unwilling to leave something unknown residing within his core, the light avatar recorded every detail and sent the information to VIA for analysis.
The result came back a moment later.
A mutation of some kind.
Something had apparently occurred during the body’s formation and its synchronization with the light avatar’s soul.
"Interesting."
Now it was time to test the power of his new body.
[Soul Force: 315]
His spirit power sat at less than one-fifth of what he could produce in his true body, an uncomfortable number to see. Even so, it was still roughly twice as high as Emery’s had been in the Crescent Moon realm.
His spellcasting was capped at Tier 6, with his overall output barely reaching one-tenth of what his true body could produce. Fortunately, his deep comprehension of the Laws meant that even with a Tier 6 ceiling, his spells carried far more power than the realm alone would suggest.
His soul force told a very different story. It remained at the Seventh Pagoda Tier, strong enough for him to barely control the Willow Sword formations even at such a low realm.
Twilight Transformation also carried over cleanly, remaining every bit as potent as it had been before. Primal transformation was much harder to control, as expected.
His physique, however, remained the real problem.
Nearly two thousand battle power sounded formidable enough on its own. Compared to what his original body could produce, however, it was nothing remarkable. Even after a future breakthrough into the Grand Magus realm, he doubted this body would ever surpass three thousand—a genuine achievement by any outside measure, yet still a hard ceiling far below the four thousand his true body possessed as a baseline.
He let out a slow breath, turning the number over in his mind one more time before finally setting it aside.
"It’s fine," he said aloud, mostly to himself. "As long as this body doesn’t actually die on me, I’ve got time to close the gap some other way."
That other way lay exactly where his current limitation did—the Gu, which was still settling deeper into the body’s foundation.
"Let’s check what this Gu ability is..."
He raised a finger and activated the Bloodsink Resonance, sending a thread of spiritual energy toward the Silkbind Gu resting within his soul core.
The parasite stirred.
A faint warmth spread through his chest as the Gu responded to his command. Then, from the tip of his finger, a thin white thread slowly emerged.
The light avatar narrowed his eyes.
Another thread followed, then another, each one so fine that they were almost impossible to see unless they caught the light at exactly the right angle.
Silk.
The threads extended directly from his skin, thinner than a strand of hair yet remarkably tough. With a thought, he guided them outward, sending them across the room. They stretched farther and farther before branching apart, forming a delicate web that floated almost invisibly through the air.
He gently touched one.
A faint vibration immediately traveled along the thread and returned to his finger.
His senses picked up everything—the slightest movement, the direction of the disturbance, even the difference in pressure caused by his touch.
The light avatar’s eyes brightened slightly.
This wasn’t simply silk.
The threads had become an extension of his senses.
He experimented further, changing their shape and tightening their structure. They could be woven into nets, bindings, or other forms suitable for combat. More importantly, through the Bloodsink Resonance, he could channel spiritual energy through them with remarkable precision.
The Silkbind Gu could probe, manipulate, mend, and restore spiritual energy.
At first, he had assumed its greatest value would be healing and restoration. But the more he experimented, the more applications he discovered.
The threads could reach into the delicate energy structures of another Gu, carefully repairing damaged pathways or stabilizing an unstable connection. They could even help regulate the flow of energy within another parasite, preventing it from falling into a state of imbalance.
The light avatar finally understood why the Mammon Clan had nurtured this particular Gu as one of their foundational parasites.
The Silkbind Gu wasn’t simply powerful on its own.
Its greatest value was its ability to maintain, stabilize, and restore other Gu, making it an invaluable tool for any serious Gu cultivator.
He was still turning that thought over when Klea arrived, carrying something small and carefully cradled in both hands.
"A gift for your birthday."
It was a small tube containing another Gu parasite. Smaller than the Silkbind Gu, its pale surface was patterned faintly like the grain of old wood. Unlike the Silkbind Gu, which had always carried a subtle, restless pulse, this one remained completely still.
Now that the light avatar had reached the Magus realm and officially become a Gu cultivator, he could begin nurturing a second Gu parasite.
This was one of the specialties of Gu cultivation. Each Gu could provide a unique boost to its host, and with a sufficiently strong soul and higher cultivation realm, powerful Gu cultivators could eventually nurture several Gu parasites within their bodies.
"What is it?"
"Tree-bound Gu. Stillroot, they call it." She placed the tube in front of him. "It should be highly compatible with you. It wasn’t cheap, either."
The Stillroot Gu was a Tier 6, Nature-based Gu parasite whose passive ability was to nurture the host’s comprehension of the Law of Nature. Its active ability was body transformation, reinforcing the host’s physique, hardening the flesh, and greatly increasing its durability in battle.
But Klea had specifically taken note of its second ability.
It could conceal the host’s presence, suppressing their breath, heartbeat, and spiritual signature until they became almost indistinguishable from dormant plant life.
Precisely the kind of ability that could hide considerable strength behind an entirely unremarkable presence.
Along with the new Gu parasite came a box filled with dozens of spiritual serums and pills, all prepared for the light avatar to begin raising his cultivation and strengthening his new body.
With the additional resources, his progress accelerated rapidly.
Within just a week, the light avatar had reached the peak of the Crescent Moon realm. He had also successfully bonded with the second Gu parasite, further strengthening his physique while gaining complete control over its concealment ability.
By then, Klea arrived with everything prepared.
Including a new identity.
She placed the information in front of him and smiled.
"Now... are you ready to infiltrate the Occulus faction?"
