Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 3075: The Plan

Chapter 3075: The Plan

"Submit!"

Ilyndra’s voice remained completely emotionless.

The moment her fingers moved, the nine suns responded.

They spread outward.

Boom!

Nine pillars of solar fire descended from the heavens, connecting the spheres to the earth and transforming the entire desert into a sea of flames. The battlefield seemed to disappear beneath the radiance, leaving Emery standing inside what looked like the heart of a newborn star.

And within that blazing domain, the enormous projection moved.

It raised a spectral javelin.

The weapon was far larger than Ilyndra herself, its surface formed entirely from condensed solar energy. As the projection drew its arm back, countless layers of golden runes appeared along the javelin’s shaft, each one feeding more power into the weapon.

Then it thrust forward.

The attack did not travel through the air.

It dragged the sunlight itself forward with it.

The entire battlefield seemed to collapse toward the tip of the javelin.

Emery’s expression became solemn.

He didn’t hold back either.

Khaos erupted through his arms while the Elysian power stabilized his body, and the Dao of Heaven and Earth surged through Excalibur.

He swung.

[Star Rending Cleave]

One strike.

Then another.

And another.

Three immense slashes tore through the air, each carrying enough force to split mountains. The first collided with the incoming spectral javelin and cracked its golden surface. The second followed immediately, ripping through the projection’s overwhelming solar force. The third descended with all of Emery’s accumulated strength.

BOOM!!!

The spectral javelin finally shattered beneath the combined force.

But Emery barely had time to breathe.

The nine suns came next.

Emery made his decision instantly and flew behind Soltz.

The desert erupted.

A terrifying bombardment descended from the sky, golden beams of solar energy crashing down one after another. The first strike swallowed Soltz’s position completely, and the following attacks piled onto the same spot with enough force to tear the earth apart.

The old Grand Magus instantly dissipated, vanished into ashes beneath the overwhelming radiance.

The ground where he had stood was blasted into a massive crater, its surface glowing red before rapidly melting into a sheet of molten glass.

Emery didn’t look back.

He had already fled at full speed.

Behind him, the infected Supreme paused for only a moment before giving chase. Her dark figure shot across the sky, wrapped in blazing solar energy, while the nine suns of her domain followed like nine miniature stars.

For more than an hour, the pursuit continued.

Emery pushed his speed to the limit, repeatedly changing direction whenever Ilyndra’s locked onto him. Every time he thought he had gained enough distance, another terrifying bombardment descended from above, forcing him to twist away or Rift Step in another direction.

The desert suffered beneath their passage.

Dunes were flattened into glass, ancient rock formations were reduced to dust, and enormous craters appeared wherever Ilyndra’s attacks struck. The Supreme’s solar javelins tore through the sky like streaks of falling stars, each one carrying enough destructive force to erase a mountain.

Emery kept running.

But eventually, inevitably, she caught up.

He stopped in midair and turned to face her once more, his chest rising and falling heavily. His body was exhausted, his energy reserves severely depleted, and even his powerful physique was beginning to feel the accumulated strain of more than an hour of fighting and fleeing.

Yet there was no fear in his expression.

Only a faint, exhausted smile.

"To think I could last this long against a Supreme," he said, wiping a trace of blood from the corner of his mouth. "Good experience, at least."

Ilyndra gave no response.

The nine blazing suns behind her continued to orbit slowly, bathing the entire desert in unbearable heat.

Emery raised one arm.

The power of his Elysian Roots surged outward.

[Elden Wildburst]

The earth beneath him exploded upward.

Countless ancient roots and enormous vines burst from the ground, twisting together into a towering fortress of living wood. Thick trunks intertwined into massive walls while countless vines wrapped around the structure like enormous serpents, forming layer after layer of dense natural defenses.

For a brief moment, Emery disappeared completely behind the living fortress.

Then the sunlight came down.

BOOM!

The first solar bombardment struck the fortress and turned its outer layer into burning charcoal.

BOOM! BOOM!

Another followed.

Then another.

The enormous wooden walls shook violently as golden flames poured through every gap, while the vines writhed and regenerated only to be burned away again moments later.

The fortress was powerful, but against the full might of a Supreme’s Solar Law, it was never going to last.

The final bombardment tore through the remaining structure, reducing the towering fortress to a collapsing mountain of burning roots and shattered wood.

But Emery was already gone.

Ilyndra hovered above the wreckage, her blood-red eyes sweeping across the devastated landscape.

She searched for his aura.

His spiritual fluctuations.

His presence.

Nothing.

###

More than three thousand miles away, far from the direction in which the chase had led, the sand beneath a lone dune shifted quietly.

Soltz

The golden sand slid from his shoulders as Earth Meld slowly dissolved around him. He looked exhausted, but his eyes immediately turned toward the surrounding desert as the waypoint connected to his Khaos Seed finally trembled back to life.

A moment later, Emery emerged beside him.

He staggered slightly upon reaching the surface, breathing hard as exhaustion settled heavily over his body. After more than an hour of pushing himself against a Supreme, even Emery’s monstrous physical endurance had been drained almost to the bone.

Soltz looked at him with clear relief.

"You made it," the old man said. He glanced around cautiously before lowering his voice. "Did we fool her?"

The plan had worked exactly as intended.

Before the battle began, Soltz had slipped beneath the desert using Earth Meld, completely concealing his presence beneath the shifting sands. In his place, Emery had created a Khaos Shadow Clone wearing Soltz’s appearance and aura.

It had been enough to fool the infected Supreme, as it taken the bombardment meant for Soltz.

Emery managed a tired smile.

"Let’s hope we’re far enough from her senses,"
