Chapter 3105: Mysterious Woman
Chapter 3105: Mysterious Woman
Emery watched the sudden change with concern, but that moment of distraction proved costly.
The infected Supreme immediately seized the opening.
A savage attack crashed into Emery before he could fully prepare his defense. The impact tore through both of his arms, forcing them apart as blood sprayed into the air. The force also knocked Excalibur from his grasp, sending the divine sword spinning away across the battlefield.
"Urgh!" Emery groaned in pain.
Another attack followed without giving him even a moment to recover.
Emery’s eyes sharpened.
With his Divine Sense already spread across the battlefield, he instantly summoned two hidden weapons. A silver flying needle, moving almost invisibly as it shot through the air under the precise control of his Divine Sense. The second needle followed from another angle.
Both weapons targeted the infected Supreme’s head.
The Supreme reacted immediately.
His massive body shifted, and the weapons were forced back by the overwhelming power surrounding him. The flying needles curved through the air and returned toward Emery, unable to penetrate the Supreme’s defenses.
But that brief exchange had given Emery exactly what he needed.
His Divine Sense locked onto Excalibur.
The divine sword flew back into his hand just as his torn arms began to recover. The Elysian Roots surged from within his body, wrapping around the damaged flesh and weaving themselves through the shattered muscles and bones. The roots reinforced his arms, stabilizing them and restoring enough strength for him to continue fighting.
Emery tightened his grip around Excalibur.
The power of Heaven and Earth surged through his body and poured into the divine sword, causing its blade to erupt with overwhelming energy.
He swung.
[Dao Edge]
The slash tore across the battlefield, carrying the combined might of his Dao and the power of Heaven and Earth as it cut toward the infected Supreme.
On the other side of the battlefield, the possessed Soltz suddenly flew toward Bragnir.
The dwarf lord was still locked in battle, his massive metal body covered in cracks and wounds. He barely had time to turn before Soltz landed beside him.
The expression on Soltz’s face was completely different from before.
His eyes were dark, his expression cold, and the presence surrounding him felt strangely unfamiliar.
"I can help you," Soltz said.
The female voice that came from his mouth made Bragnir freeze.
"But you must swear that you will carry this body to safety."
Bragnir stared at him in shock.
For several seconds, the dwarf lord could only look at Soltz, unable to process what he was hearing.
"Who... what are you?"
The possessed Soltz frowned impatiently.
"Foolish dwarf... I can’t hold it for long!" Her voice became sharper. "Do you swear or not?"
Bragnir hesitated for only a moment.
"Yes... yes, I swear!"
"You better be...!"
Before Bragnir could say anything else, two of the infected Three-Cosmos cultivators closed in.
Their powerful auras swept across the battlefield as they approached from opposite directions, weapons already raised. Their attacks were aimed directly at Soltz and Bragnir, clearly intending to tear both of them apart before they could react.
Then Soltz suddenly threw his head back.
A shrill scream erupted from his mouth.
The sound was unlike anything Bragnir had ever heard.
It was not merely loud. It carried a strange spiritual force that spread across the entire battlefield, piercing directly into the minds and souls of every nearby cultivator.
All infected Grand Magus suddenly froze.
The two Three-Cosmos cultivators approaching Soltz faltered for an instant, their bodies momentarily locking in place as the terrifying scream washed over them.
But the weaker infected suffered far worse.
Across the battlefield, dozens of infected Magus Realm cultivators suddenly clutched their heads.
Their bodies convulsed violently.
Then—
BOOM!
One after another, their heads exploded.
Blood and corrupted flesh scattered through the air as the shrill scream continued to reverberate across the battlefield, silencing the surrounding chaos for a brief but terrifying moment.
Then,
Dark smoke burst outward, rapidly spreading across the entire area until everything within its reach was swallowed by absolute darkness.
For several moments, Emery could see nothing.
The battlefield, the ocean, even the overwhelming presence of the infected Supreme all disappeared beneath the pitch-black veil. The darkness was so complete that even Divine Sense struggled to penetrate it.
Then something moved within the shadows.
Dark webs shot through the darkness, their strands twisting around the surviving dwarven Grand Magus and the High Elves. Before anyone could react, the webs tightened and began pulling them away, dragging their bodies away.
Emery’s high comprehension of the Law of Shadow and space allowed him to quicky see through the strange phenomenon.
He immediately recognized the source.
The possessed Soltz was pulling the survivors away.
Not toward the shore.
But deeper into the ocean.
Emery narrowed his eyes, unable to understand what her intentions were. He could not stop her either. The darkness was too dense, and the distance between them was increasing rapidly.
For now, however, Emery could only accept that escaping toward the ocean was probably the best option for them.
He quickly took advantage of the opportunity.
Without wasting another moment, Emery turned and followed.
It took the infected Supreme only a few seconds to react.
The terrifying aura erupted behind Emery as the Wildwrath Tyrant finally broke through the darkness and immediately gave chase. The remaining infected Grand Magi soon followed, their figures emerging from the dissipating shadows one after another.
Another pursuit began.
Emery pushed his speed to the limit, but he still could not completely break free from the Supreme’s pursuit. Every time he managed to create some distance, the overwhelming presence behind him closed the gap again.
With no other choice, Emery released his Khaos Legion, deliberately intercepting the infected supreme, to buy him a few precious seconds.
Ahead of him, Emery could see the possessed Soltz moving rapidly through the darkness.
Dark webs extended from Soltz’s body, connecting him to the thirty-two survivors he had taken with him. Their bodies were dragged through the air like puppets suspended from invisible strings, completely under the woman’s control.
Emery’s expression darkened.
He could not simply ignore what was happening.
Once again, he accessed his Khaos Domain.
His consciousness reached toward the Khaos seeds within Soltz’s body, attempting to establish a connection with him.
This time, however, he received an immediate response.
"Don’t you dare think about it... or I’ll kill all these dwarves."
The cold female voice entered Emery’s mind without warning.
There was almost no emotion in it, yet the threat was unmistakably clear.
Emery immediately stopped the intrusion.
His eyes narrowed as he continued flying.
"Who are you... and what are you doing?!!"
Then the woman’s voice replied.
"Huh... don’t you see? I’m saving you all from demise."
Emery’s expression became even more suspicious.
He could not believe her words.
Soul possession was an extremely dangerous process. Taking control of another person’s body, was not something that could simply happen without consequences.
"What happened to the body’s owner?"
Once again, the female voice spoke.
"I have no reason to answer you. Just worry about yourself."
As soon as the words left her mouth, Emery sensed the infected Supreme closing in, moving like a stampeding horde.
