Chapter 3104: Collapse
Chapter 3104: Collapse
The battle exploded across the ocean.
The infected Grand magus outnumbered them nearly three to one, surrounding the group from multiple directions as the waves beneath their feet churned violently from the constant clashes.
The two High Elf knights fought alongside them, their movements far more graceful than the brutal dwarven fighting style. Lightning repeatedly descended from the darkened sky, striking through groups of infected and leaving burning trails across the surface of the water.
The only advantage these dwarves had against the overwhelming infected forces was their ability to fight in tight battle formations. The dwarves in full plate armor served as the shield bearers, standing at the front and taking the brunt of the attacks, while the ranged fighters armed with high-grade crossbows fired from the back.
"Hold the formation!!"
In the center of the formation, the three master craftsmen were busy preparing something.
Each activated a bronze battle suit.
With a series of metallic clicks and grinding sounds, the prepared armor unfolded around their bodies, covering them from head to toe as formations embedded within the bronze began to glow. Their bodies expanded beneath the armor, transforming the three craftsmen into enormous bronze constructs that looked more like hulking golems than ordinary cultivators.
They charged into the enemy.
Their heavy fists smashed riders from their mounts, while thick bronze arms blocked attacks that would have crippled their ordinary bodies. However, even their carefully crafted battle suits could not change the reality of the battlefield.
The infected were simply too numerous.
The fighting lasted only a few minutes before the first casualties began to mount.
One of the dwarf elders noticed several infected Grand Magus breaking through the front line and immediately understood that the formation was about to collapse.
His body was already covered in wounds, and his breathing had become increasingly labored, but he knew there was no time left to hesitate. With his life force rapidly fading, the dwarf elder was forced to release the people he had been protecting within his inner domain.
The hidden hundres dwarves suddenly appeared on the battlefield, some still confused by the abrupt change in their surroundings. Many bravely charged into the infected horde, their weapons striking as they desperately tried to hold the enemy back.
But the difference in cultivation was simply too great.
These dwarven warriors were only at the Magus realm, and they had no place in a Grand Magus battle. Within seconds, the warriors were torn apart, their bodies scattered across the battlefield like flies caught in a storm.
The situation continued to deteriorate.
The dwarves were gradually forced backward, their tight formation becoming increasingly difficult to maintain as exhaustion weighed on every warrior.
Durnok and Bragnir did everything they could, but the two powerful dwarves were struggling to contain the five Three-Cosmos opponents.
Even Emery was beginning to struggle.
He remained locked in his duel with the infected Supreme, each collision between them creating massive shockwaves that spread across the sky and ocean. His body was already under immense strain from maintaining his transformations while simultaneously fighting an opponent at the Supreme level, and he knew that he could not maintain this intensity forever.
Then, through the corner of his Divine Sense, Emery noticed movement behind the formation.
Soltz.
The old man was still barely conscious, his face pale and his body unsteady after whatever had happened inside the Zero Black Crevice. Somehow, he had forced himself back onto his feet and was staggering toward the battlefield.
"Soltz!"
Emery’s attention shifted for an instant, two infected riders broke through the chaotic fighting and seized the old man from opposite sides.
One grabbed his left arm.
The other grabbed his right.
Both infected riders pulled with brutal force, their intention immediately obvious.
Soltz’s already weakened body was stretched between them, his feet barely touching the water as the two infected warriors prepared to tear him apart.
He was a heartbeat away from death.
Then something inside Soltz ignited.
His entire body suddenly convulsed.
Dark smoke erupted from beneath his skin, first in thin streams and then in thick waves that rapidly covered his body. The shadows crawled across his arms, neck, and face as though something ancient had awakened inside him.
The two infected riders froze.
Soltz’s pupils slowly darkened until his eyes became completely black.
His breathing changed.
The weakness that had filled his body moments earlier vanished, replaced by a terrifying stillness.
Then his lips curved upward.
It was a slow, unfamiliar smile.
A smile that did not belong to Soltz.
Suddenly, dozens of thin strands of darkness shot from his body and erupted into the sky. They moved too quickly for the surrounding Grand Magus to react, spreading outward like a gigantic spiderweb before snapping around their targets.
More than a dozen infected Grand Magus were caught instantly.
The black strands wrapped around their arms, legs, torsos, and necks, tightening with every struggle. Several attempted to break free, but the shadowy threads only sank deeper into their bodies, holding them suspended in the air like insects trapped inside an enormous web.
The battlefield seemed to pause for a moment.
Even the nearby dwarves stared in disbelief.
Soltz slowly lifted his head.
When he spoke, the voice that came from his mouth was unmistakably feminine.
"You vile creatures."
The voice carried an unfamiliar coldness, yet there was also a faint hint of amusement.
Then the strange smile widened.
"Die."
The shadow webs suddenly contracted.
Every strand tightened at once.
The infected Grand Magus barely had time to struggle before their bodies were pulled in opposite directions. Their corrupted flesh ruptured under the immense pressure, and the black webs tore through them with terrifying precision.
More than a dozen bodies were split apart simultaneously.
Blood and fragments of corrupted flesh scattered across the ocean, while the severed remains fell into the waves below.
For several heartbeats, no one seems to moved.
Then Soltz slowly turned his completely black eyes toward the battlefield, the unfamiliar smile still resting on his face.
