Endless Evolution: Last Star

Chapter 1818: Aura Armor

Chapter 1818: Aura Armor

The Tooth Lake wasn’t supposed to be a difficult challenge for Adam from the start. The main difficulty for Adam was that he had never encountered anything like this before. He didn’t know that static objects could also have an aura, let alone one so powerful.

But once he figured it all out, overcoming the lake’s pressure was no trouble at all.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Adam’s aura continued to work at full strength while the lake’s surface trembled. Now that he wasn’t letting the lake’s aura press down on him, he was no longer gasping for air and could stay at the bottom for several hours without any trouble, without taking a single breath.

Additionally, Adam could use his energy to create an air pocket for himself, which he did.

“Not bad, not bad at all.” Laroza clicked her tongue, studying Adam’s aura.

She knew Adam would manage. Maybe not on the first try, as had happened, but she mentally decided he’d need a maximum of three attempts.

“His aura is much more powerful than I expected. After all, Aiden isn’t helping him for no reason. However, it’s still not enough for the Gray Sea.” Laroza narrowed her eyes, waiting for Adam’s next move.

A few moments later, Adam smiled, preparing to expand his aura, but the Tooth Lake wasn’t going to give in so easily.

TREMBLE!

Suddenly, the pressure grew significantly stronger, causing Adam’s eyes to widen in disbelief.

‘Agh? Didn’t I block its aura?!’ Adam exclaimed inwardly.

In no time, the purple flame burst through his white one, seeking to surround him once more. If that happened, Adam would return to the state he had been in earlier and lose the ability to breathe.

Adam’s eyes darted from side to side, trying to figure out what he had done wrong.

‘Is my aura too weak? No, that can’t be! I’m several stages higher than this lake!’

However, for some reason, the Tooth Lake’s aura managed to breach his own.

Before the purple flames could reach Adam, his pupils dilated, and his fingertips twitched.

‘Right, it’s all about quantity, the sheer volume of this enormous lake. It simply concentrated its aura at certain points, and my aura couldn’t withstand it, just like spears piercing through fabric!’

Clutch!

Adam clenched his fist as he realized what he needed to do, eliciting a satisfied smirk from Laroza.

In a heartbeat, his aura, which had been covering the center of the lake, trembled and sharply narrowed, retreating toward him.

But Adam didn’t dispel his aura. He condensed it until it became a dense white veil enveloping his body. It wasn’t rigid armor or a suit, but rather a flowing robe that shimmered with his power.

THUD!

The purple flames crashed down on him, but all Adam did was lift his gaze as his eyes flashed with a satisfied fire.

“Not bad, huh? My aura against yours. No matter how much aura you have, it’s still nowhere near my level. Even if this lake were five times bigger, it still wouldn’t be enough!”

Adam was right.

The monsters that had previously wanted to attack him, and, like him, had learned to resist the lake’s aura, watched from the sidelines while their massive bodies trembled.

They easily handled the constant pressure from the lake, but were afraid to approach Adam.

Still, that wasn’t enough for Adam.

He couldn’t feel at ease while Tooth Lake continued to attack him. Sure, even after a hundred attempts, Tooth Lake wouldn’t achieve anything, but the attacks would continue, after all, the lake was enormous.

“Looks like I have to show you that you don’t stand a chance, don’t I?” Adam’s gaze darkened as he spread his arms wide. “Alright, I’ll do it. At the Gray Sea, I’ll have to face something far more serious, so it’s better to check everything out now.”

Laroza raised an eyebrow.

“Hmm? What is he planning to do?”

She had expected that once Adam created armor from his aura, he would make his way out of Tooth Lake. Laroza was ready to praise him and give him his next task, but Adam decided to change her plans.

“Oh… I see…” Laroza’s voice grew quieter as she slowly smiled. “Good idea, but do you have enough strength to do that right now?”

Her gaze settled on Adam’s white robe, woven from his aura.

“You used up all your aura to create a barrier around yourself. However, you’ll need just as much strength to attack. You have big ambitions, but you’ll need to practice a little and—”

Before Laroza could finish, something caused her expression to freeze.

A black flame engulfed Adam’s palm, his aura every bit as powerful as the white one.

“Alright, I’ll do it all in a single strike.” Adam’s eyes filled with determination as he swung his arms.

CLAP!

His palms slammed together as his entire dark aura burst forth in a single blast, rippling across the lake in countless black rings like waves.

The monsters closed their eyes, and the weaker ones fled even farther away, while the purple flame was forced to retreat, fleeing from Adam’s aura.

When the black rings reached the shore, the tremors gradually ceased as Adam lowered his hands.

The purple flames were still visible in the distance. He hadn’t destroyed the Tooth Lake’s aura, and he wouldn’t have had the strength to do so anyway.

But now the Tooth Lake was no longer trying to attack him. Like any monster, or rather, like an artifact, the Tooth Lake realized that Adam was too strong.

Adam nodded and turned around. His intense gaze fell on a group of monsters in the distance. It was a warning, after which he created an energy platform beneath himself and leaped high into the air.

His white robe disintegrated into particles. He no longer needed his aura as soon as he found himself in front of Laroza, who was waiting for him in the same spot.

“Judging by your satisfied smile, I did well, right?”

Laroza nodded.

“Yeah, everything went even better than I expected. Now it’s time for the second, no, the third round.”

“Agh?”

Her hand fell on his shoulder.

“Bring me an azure tooth. One will be enough.”

Adam’s eyebrow began to twitch.

“That’s not all??!!!”
