Chapter 1827: A Single Mist Warrior
Chapter 1827: A Single Mist Warrior
When Krador said that Adam would have to kill several thousand monsters to obtain the Glass Root, Adam grew wary.
No matter how strong and talented he was, he was a K4-Phantom and was deep within the Tarnished Lands. Most of the monsters here, especially those guarding something valuable, were quite strong, and Adam might have trouble defeating several thousand of them.
But as soon as he encountered the Mist Tigers, he immediately understood everything.
“I see. So there are so many of them because they are the mist itself?” Adam smirked as his aura trembled.
He expanded his aura as much as he could, while maintaining enough density to force the mist to recede.
Before, he couldn’t even see his fingertips, but now everything within a ten-meter radius was clear and distinct.
The Mist Tigers swirled around him in a wild vortex, dozens of yellow eyes staring intently at him with inner malice.
“Huh, looks like you guys don’t like that your mist turned out to be useless, do you?”
Sure, Laroza hadn’t told Adam he could use his aura this way, but it wasn’t hard to figure out on his own.
If his field of vision had been limited to one meter, or even less, he would inevitably have been injured, but now… Now the mist tigers didn’t stand a chance.
Clutch.
Adam clenched his fists tightly, his gaze piercing.
“Come on. You’re not going to wait for me to attack first, are you? There are at least several hundred of you! Be bolder!”
As powerful monsters, the Mist Tigers understood what Adam was saying, and his taunt worked.
“RARK!!!”
Several of the Mist Tigers roared as they pounced on him. Because of their unusual bodies, which were, in fact, mist and energy, they didn’t leap at him but launched themselves like cannonballs. As soon as their claws touched Adam, they would inflict a cut on him.
Sure, one or even ten cuts wouldn’t make Adam give up or even notice these wounds, but the Mist Tigers were banking on their numbers rather than their quality.
Sometimes, quantity actually outweighed quality. It all depended on just how great that quality really was.
BAM!
Adam’s fist slammed into the tiger’s head, and the impact rippled through its entire body, turning it into a puff of smoke.
Then, Adam spun around and sliced through two tigers with a single swipe of his palm.
He didn’t need his needle or other abilities against such opponents. As soon as Adam sensed their auras, he immediately realized he could handle them using only his fists and energy.
In fact, for Adam, this was good training.
Undoubtedly, he possessed powerful abilities, quite rare ones at that. However, in any fight, everything could boil down to a simple clash between strength and speed.
If his opponent were significantly faster and stronger, no abilities would save Adam.
“Huh, I’m doing pretty well, aren’t I?” Adam exclaimed inwardly, his eyes brimming with excitement.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
With every punch, he smashed one mist tiger after another, and even though there were more and more of them, Adam had no intention of stopping.
“If you want to win, you’ll need even more people!” Adam waved his arm, sending a mist tiger flying to the side. “Krador was right, you’ll have to bring thousands if you want to hurt me!”
Unfortunately for the Mist Tigers, their tactics didn’t work against Adam.
A single human, with only ten meters of space, was blocking and dodging all their attacks, while they couldn’t manage to do the same.
“Rgh…”
The mist tigers growled. They had no choice but to step up their game if they wanted to win.
“Agh?” Adam was confused as the countless attacks that had been coming for several minutes suddenly stopped.
At that very moment, a bright yellow light flashed from the side, cutting through the thick mist.
Peering through the gaps between his fingers, Adam smirked.
“Not bad, not bad at all. Did you think this would save you? Go ahead and try!”
All the mist tigers, one after another like waves, headed toward a single point. Every time they approached the yellow light, their bodies shuddered and shattered into streams of mist.
The mysterious figure hidden within the light was becoming larger and more distinct, while the mist around it was growing thinner.
Adam glanced to the side, looking at the trees at the foot of the hill that had previously been hidden from view. His field of vision had expanded from ten meters to twenty and continued to grow.
“Looks like there’s no point in wasting energy on the aura anymore,” Adam waved his hand, recalling the aura to himself.
He was right, as most of the mist had condensed into a single spot.
Step.
Adam took a step back, looking up.
“Damn, when a thousand monsters turn into one, it can’t be anything simple, right?”
The colossal tiger hovered over the rift, staring intently at Adam with its amber eyes. It was large enough to knock down a multi-story building with a single swipe of its paw, and its three tails, like whips, swayed from side to side behind it.
But Adam’s gaze was drawn to the tattoos on its body. They moved as proof that all the mist tigers were still alive. They were part of their main warrior.
“Do you think I can knock it out with a single punch?” Adam asked, looking at the colossal tiger.
The Silver Weaver, who was observing the situation from the inner space, simply shrugged.
‘Who knows? He’s gotten bigger, but his aura hasn’t become significantly stronger. I think in terms of power, it’s not much different, and-‘
Before the Silver Weaver could finish speaking, the colossal tiger opened its jaws as a dense beam of light shot out of its throat.
In the next moment, Adam’s eyes widened as the dense beam bore down on him.
Acting on instinct, Adam leaped aside as the beam swept over him, striking the nearest hill behind him.
BLAST!
A devastating explosion obliterated part of the hill, sending powerful gusts of wind and debris flying toward Adam.
The Silver Weaver waved his hand dismissively.
“Well, looks like I was wrong. Nothing terrible happened, right?”
Adam frowned, clenching his fists tightly.
“You… Maybe I should deal with you after this, tiger?”
“Huh, you can try, but first deal with that bastard.”
Adam glanced at the tiger.
“Yeah, you’re right.”
