Chapter 2061: Two Outfits
Chapter 2061: Two Outfits
Originally, Adam and Silvana went to meet with Farla so Adam could tell her how his mission had gone.
Then, they ended up at Relana’s atelier, where they were supposed to choose outfits for the upcoming Radiant Branch, but things didn’t quite go according to plan.
However, for Silvana and Adam, this turned out to be a positive turn of events. Each of them grew stronger and learned more about their world.
Adam discovered who Relana really was, while Silvana saw the Lost Moon and the Lost Sun – two External Artifacts of the First Ring.
But they still had to get what they came here for, their outfits for the Radiant Branch.
The Radiant Branch wasn’t just an important event where men were expected to wear expensive tuxedos and women long, luxurious dresses.
Sure, many would choose exactly that kind of outfit, but many Phantoms, and especially nobles, wouldn’t settle for a simple tuxedo.
Thus, Adam and Silvana were no exception, and they wanted something special for themselves as well.
Tap.
The man with long green hair and blue eyes cast an appraising glance at Adam, who was standing in front of a large mirror in Relana’s atelier.
“What do you think, Adam? I’d say this is a success.” The man smiled, nonchalantly popping a chocolate cookie into his mouth.
Adam glanced at Ron, who was actually Relana’s Operator.
Their meeting was unexpected, as Ron had simply decided to show up while Relana was sewing Adam’s outfit.
He was quite tall, had sharp features, and carried a perpetually sly aura, something similar to what Gladius possessed, but in Ron’s case, it wasn’t something sinister or dangerous; rather, it felt like a desire to get up to some mischief.
He was wearing simple black pants, a matching vest, and a white shirt underneath it. He didn’t need anything flashy in his wardrobe, his vibrant hair was more than enough.
It was Ron who had healed him, and when he appeared beside Relana, he did it again to speed up Adam’s recovery.
Now, Adam was practically back to his peak, at least physically, since his energy reserves hadn’t yet reached 100%.
Adam adjusted his collar and nodded deeply.
“Yes. It took longer than I thought, but you’re right. I’m happy with the result.”
Relana stood to the side with a calm expression. She didn’t show it, but Adam’s opinion mattered to her. Not only because her attitude toward him had changed after their fight, but also because she rarely made special outfits for anyone.
As she had said earlier, the main color of Adam’s outfit was gray; he wore gray on top and bottom. On the bottom were straight, wide-leg pants, devoid of any patterns or bulky details. This was the clean part of his outfit.
The pants ended above gray, storm-like boots. Their shade was slightly darker, which made them stand out against the pants; the laces were black, as were the metal inserts running from the bottom up to the ankles at equal intervals.
On his upper body, the very bottom layer was a simple gray top, covered by a loose, collarless shirt.
Over the shirt was the piece of clothing that Relana had spent the most time on. It was a long jacket that fell below Adam’s waist but did not reach coat length. Relana designed the collar so that it could rest on Adam’s shoulders, covering only his neck, or the collar could be fully raised to become high enough to cover the lower part of his face.
The jacket had long sleeves and a light, scaly pattern that carried over to it from the material Relana had used. She had used not only fabric but also monster hides, since she wanted Adam to wear this outfit not only for a single event but on the battlefield as well. The jacket didn’t have the usual buttons; instead, it had black iron rivets.
Naturally, every piece of the outfit was full of monster threads, allowing Adam to repair his outfit using his energy, provided it wasn’t too badly damaged.
But there was something else added to his jacket: a long scarf wrapped once around his neck. It wasn’t just needed to complete the look or keep him warm, it’s unlikely that a K4-Phantom like Adam would have any trouble with that.
This scarf contained the largest amount of monster threads, which meant that when the time came, it could be used as a consumable for other parts or even for Adam’s energy reserves. Though, considering how much energy Adam had, it’s unlikely this scarf would make much of a difference.
In any case, Adam liked the way this scarf felt to the touch.
To complete his outfit, Relana picked out a wide belt with a magnetic clasp for him, as well as a pair of gloves with black fingertips.
Clasp. Clasp.
Adam clenched and unclenched his fist, feeling just how sturdy his gloves were, while no part of his outfit restricted his movements in any way.
Crunch.
Ron ate another cookie as, instead of Adam’s outfit, he looked at something else – Adam’s aura.
“Not bad, not bad at all. What had happened between them in the training hall wasn’t just a random outburst of rage. No, that power had stayed with him forever, and it seemed his Operator was capable as well.’
Relana knew a lot about Adam, but that was nothing compared to what Ron knew about him and Silvana. After all, that was his job.
Also, he was curious to see how their battle would end, and considering that Relana had revealed her knight number, he wasn’t disappointed.
Adam turned to Relana.
“Anything to say? Maybe some detail doesn’t suit me?” Adam asked.
Relana shook her head, maintaining her cold composure.
“No. Everything is as it should be. You’re free-spirited but not as relaxed as Kaerno, and your outfit isn’t too formal either.”
She glanced toward the entrance to her atelier.
“We just have to wait for your partner, and then you’ll both be ready for the Radiant Branch.”
