Chapter 2062: The Three of Them
Chapter 2062: The Three of Them
Step. Step. Step.
At a leisurely pace, Silvana and Gladius approached Relana’s atelier, and he opened the door for her, bowing deeply like a butler.
Then again, given how Silvana looked right now, if a regular person had seen them, that’s exactly what he would have thought.
As soon as she stepped inside, everyone turned toward her, and Adam’s eyes sparkled before a faint smile appeared on his face.
For some reason, he was glad that Silvana had chosen this particular style.
Gladius stepped forward, remaining half in the shadows. His gaze fell on Ron, who was sitting carefree and continuing to eat his cookies. For someone who loved sweets so much, he looked way too good.
“Oh, Ron, what a joy to see you here,” Gladius said, perhaps even sincerely. “You usually don’t like to leave your home or Relana’s inner space.”
Ron turned and shrugged nonchalantly.
“Relana was fighting Adam Vinter, and he managed to give her a good fight. You can’t miss something like that.”
“Ahem.” Relana coughed. “I think Silvana deserves our attention more than my fight right now.”
Gladius and Ron waved their hands at the same time.
“Of course.”
Then, Silvana took another step forward, looking at Adam, who couldn’t take his eyes off her.
She wasn’t wearing a luxurious dress or a long mantle, robe, or anything like that. On the contrary, she looked like a warrior ready to fight, yet always remaining on Adam’s side.
Like him, she wore a jacket, a purple one, shorter than his, ending just above her waist. Part of it was made of purple fabric, while the middle was covered in dark-violet scales shimmering in the lamplight.
Underneath the jacket was a waterfall-like blouse that followed the curves of her body, but because of its texture, it appeared loose and held within it a large number of monster threads brimming with energy.
On her upper body, she wore sleek, business-style pants in purple, ending in dark shoes with low, sturdy heels.
Unlike Adam, who had three accessories at once: his scarf, his gloves, and his belt, Silvana had only one: a ring with a silver cross.
The distinct aura emanating from this ring was enough to make it clear that it was no ordinary ring, but an artifact, a gift from Gladius.
“What do you think?” Silvana asked confidently, though her voice faltered once, showing that his opinion mattered to her.
Adam nodded deeply.
“Good, very good. So, purple and gray? I take it the color suggestion was Gladius’s idea, right?”
Silvana shook her head.
“No, I made that choice, though Gladius did ask me about it.”
Then, Adam’s eyes grew deeper as his aura quivered.
A purple flame with a gray hue appeared in his hand. It was the Ancient Energy in its purest form.
“I like it. It’s better than the gloomy and lonely Dark Energy. Did our tailors manage to complete their task?”
Silvana smiled.
“Yes, I think so.”
Suddenly, Adam walked over to Silvana and touched her chin, lifting her gaze.
“Excuse me, but I think we need a little time alone.”
Before Gladius, Relana, or Ron could stop them, an energy pulse emanated from Adam, causing their bodies to tremble.
His leap wasn’t as fast as Gladius’s or Kamora’s, but it was a respectable speed for a K4-Phantom.
Also, Adam couldn’t get too far away, as Gladius immediately sensed them about a hundred meters away.
“Well, well, looks like they have something to talk about, don’t they?” Gladius stepped forward, keeping his hands behind his back.
Suddenly, the atmosphere changed. Even Ron’s expression grew more serious.
“And? When were you going to tell us about this?” Relana asked.
Gladius leaned against a wooden beam, his arms crossed over his chest.
“About what? Or are you saying this is the first time you’ve heard of Adam Vinter? Everyone knows about him, especially since Aiden took an interest in this guy.”
Gladius waved his hand dismissively.
“Also, you can’t deny all of Adam’s victories and the speed at which he’s progressing. Even without Aiden, all the key people at the Citadel would have found out about him sooner or later.”
Ron and Relana exchanged glances, that wasn’t what they’d asked about. Ron knew everything about Adam, or that’s what he’d thought before.
“He’s a candidate.” Ron’s eyes grew deeper. “The one even Aiden has acknowledged. Now, Frida has invited him to the Radiant Branch, where he’ll meet all the strongest people at the Citadel in person, at least most of them.”
They knew that at the Citadel, there were a few people who didn’t attend the Radiant Branch, even though they were invited every time. On the one hand, Relana and Kamora were among those people, since they usually declined.
Relana stared intently at Gladius.
“Do you think Frida figured it out? If I figured it out after just one fight with Adam, she had even more of a chance to do so.”
In response, Gladius shook his head.
“No. That’s out of the question. Frida just wants Adam to become part of one of the factions. He’ll reach the Second Circle soon, which means he has to finally decide where he belongs.”
“And?” Ron’s expression grew colder. “What are we going to do about this? Do you want Adam to join the Azure Lotus or the Dark Order? Damien has helped him countless times.”
Gladius shook his head again.
“I can guess what you’re thinking, but Adam will turn them all down. He loves his freedom and making his own decisions. Ironically, that’s exactly why he’s the best candidate. Either way, even if you’ve figured out what this is about, I can’t tell you any more about it yet.”
Relana looked down as something in her eyes changed.
“What about Aiden? What does he think about this?”
Gladius grew serious, which was rare for him.
“He thinks it’s a real chance. Besides Adam, there are other candidates, but considering his rapid progress, power level, ability, and determination, he’s the best of them all.”
“I see.”
Relana nodded, clenching her fists tightly.
“In that case, let’s hope for the best – for the entire Citadel.”
