Endless Leveling Done Right!

Chapter 634: Do You Remember Our Deal?

Chapter 634: Do You Remember Our Deal?

< Level Up! >

The Crimson Mantis finally died after getting smacked by Dim Dim’s wooden sandal for the umpteenth time.

Alex picked up the loot, then went back to check if Astrea was fine.

Chuck had already handed healing potions to the injured, so their states were stable for the time being.

However, many were still seriously injured. Even if they were no longer bleeding, they needed to receive proper healing from high-ranking clerics or priests as soon as possible.

"Are you alright, Astrea?" Alex asked the young lady, who was sitting on a tree log beside her brother.

"Yes, I’m fine," Astrea replied. "Thank you for saving me earlier, Alex."

Cassian frowned after hearing the two teenagers call each other by their first name. If he wasn’t injured, he might have confronted Alex, aggressively interrogating him as to why he was acting like he and Astrea were close friends.

Also, the young man had saved his sister from dying. He decided to hold back his questions for now.

Out of the twelve parties that were exploring the dungeon, only eight remained.

However, those remaining parties all had several severely injured people, which made returning to the surface on their own a bit hard. Not only did they need to carry and support their friends, they also had to pay attention to the dungeon monsters that would attack them.

One wrong move, and their return trip to the upper floors would wipe out at least half if not whole of their parties.

"What should we do, Alex?" Chuck asked. "There are too many injured people. I’m afraid it’s impossible for them to return to the surface on their own."

Alex glanced at everyone and agreed with Chuck’s observation.

These people needed to return to the surface, and they needed their help.

"Renard..." Alex said. But before he could finish whatever he was going to say, the young man gave his reply.

"I’ll follow your decision," Renard interjected.

After discussing it with everyone, a plan was made.

The uninjured Adventurers will help support or carry the injured ones back to the surface.

Alex, Chuck, and Renard would then guard the vanguard, the middle, and the rear of the formation against dungeon monsters they would encounter along the way.

Renard was in charge of the vanguard, Chuck in the middle, and Alex on the rear.

To ensure everyone’s safety, he asked Dim Dim to stay with Chuck. The little bun could support him just in case the injured people, who would be placed at the center of the formation, were attacked.

Since there were a lot of people involved, the speed of their journey was slow. Still, they were able to traverse the upper floors safely with everyone’s help.

Cassian ordered Captain Jonas and their cleric to support Renard as their vanguard. He also ordered the spear knight to help protect the middle of the formation alongside Chuck and Dim Dim.

Alex had no problem dealing with those trying to attack them from the rear since he could check his map for any enemies headed in his direction.

"Let’s all take a break," Alex said after they safely crossed the 10th Floor of the Dungeon.

They had been traveling for nearly half a day, and everyone was already tired. They chose the location right beside the gates of the Boss Room to rest.

There was only one path that led to their temporary camp, so it was easier to defend.

Dim Dim made his rounds and handed bamboo steamers filled with food to the Adventurers. It even gave them all a can of Cola Cola each, helping them recover their strength.

Meanwhile, Alex decided to schedule the night watch so everyone could sleep properly.

The first watch would be Renard, followed by Chuck, then Alex. Each of them would stay up for four hours before being replaced by their companions.

Captain Jonas proposed to be included in the night watch, but Alex told him to rest properly instead. That way, he could support them once they started moving again.

Recalling the teenager’s performance earlier, he had to admit that they really had what it took to protect them. Because of this, the Captain decided to follow Alex’s advice and slept to recover his strength.

A few minutes later, he was snoring like most of the adventurers who had eaten Dim Dim’s dim sums, which helped increase their stamina, health, and mana regeneration.

The night watch went smoothly. Although a few stray monsters wandered in their location, Renard and Chuck were able to deal with them properly during their duty.

"Your turn," Chuck woke up Alex. "Finally. I can sleep."

Chuck was very tired. Although he was strong, his body wasn’t as fit as Alex and Renard, who specialized in close combat.

He was a mage, so his stamina wasn’t up to par. Because of this, he decided to start exercising everyday once they’re back to the academy.

The young man only realized what he lacked after spending a long time inside the dungeon.

Alex woke up right away and went to his post.

He was still a bit tired, but he believed he could handle the return trip that would start once everyone finally woke up in a few hours.

Suddenly, he sensed someone walking in his direction. It was none other than Astrea, who woke up earlier than the rest.

"It feels like ages since we last talked to each other, Alex," Astrea said. "Can I sit here?"

"You can," Alex replied, happy to have company during his watch. Especially when it was one of his Four Queens.

"What happened during your previous trip?" Astrea asked. "Did you get some treasure?"

"Yes," Alex nodded. "I got six treasure chests from the Whispering Valley. I saved them for you."

"Great!" Astrea did a fist pump. "I love opening treasure chests! Do you remember our deal?"

"Yes, you get to pick one treasure that you like among the chests that you opened," Alex answered.

"It’s great that you remember. So where are these chests?" Astrea looked excited, hoping that Alex would show her the treasure chests already.

The young man smiled faintly and finally took out the six treasure chests from his storage ring, which made Astrea’s eyes sparkle in excitement.
