Chapter 664: I-It’s Not What You Think!

"You snitch." Evangeline glanced at Eleanora, who was walking back with her to the academy.

"I’m sorry, My Lady," Eleanora replied. "It’s my job to give your father regular reports about your life in the academy."

Evangeline felt helpless, understanding this was one of the conditions she agreed to. Otherwise, her father wouldn’t have allowed her to enroll in Frieden Academy.

Still, she held a grudge toward Eleanora for painting Alex as a womanizer in her reports to her father.

"You should be careful, Eleanora," Evangeline said. "Alex holds grudges. He will definitely get back at you at a later time."

"I’m not afraid of him." Eleanora raised her chin arrogantly.

"How about Dim Dim?" Evangeline asked out of curiosity.

"Why should I be afraid of Dim Dim?" Eleanora blinked. "That little bun is harmless unless provoked."

That was true. Dim Dim wasn’t someone who’d go out of its way to harm people. On the contrary, it was very kind and caring. Truth be told, Eleanora occasionally thought that Alex didn’t deserve Dim Dim.

If the little bun were her companion, she would treat it well and squish those chubby cheeks everyday!

Somewhere in the academy, a little bun suddenly sneezed.

"Then again, I didn’t expect Master to back off after seeing that old caretaker," Eleanora said. "Is he really that strong?"

Evangeline faintly smiled in response. She didn’t feel like telling Eleanora that her "Uncle" Luthor had actually killed a Paragon in the past.

If not for the fact that her father had confirmed it, she wouldn’t believe it as well.

Once the two arrived at the academy, they headed straight to the clock tower. Evangeline said that she wanted to see if Alex was there.

Usually, the young man would either stay in the clock tower to have dinner with Latifa or go to the farm to have dinner with Fran.

Evangeline also wished to invite Alex to dinner. However, she didn’t know how to cook. She was afraid of feeding him bad food, which might lower his impression of her.

When they arrived at the clock tower, they saw that all the usual members were present.

Vaan, Princess Xenia, Chuck, Nessia, Charles, as well as Lapiz, were all around.

However, Alex and Dim Dim weren’t there.

Just as she thought of that, the teleportation circle behind her came to life.

Alex and Dim Dim had arrived after having an afternoon snack with Luthor in his small cottage.

Without even caring that many people were around, Evangeline walked up to him and hugged him tightly.

Truth be told, during the time when she and Alex were kidnapped by her father, she was already feeling anxious for him.

It was no secret that her father didn’t like Alex. Although she believed her father wouldn’t really kill him, he could still hurt him in ways that wouldn’t leave any marks or scars.

Her father was physically strong, one of the many advantages of being a Vampire Lord, but his true specialty lay on Mind and Spiritual attacks.

She didn’t know what kind of seal her father had placed on Alex. However, she had a suspicion that it was this seal that made Alex forget about their childhood together.

Alex could feel the slight trembling of Evangeline’s shoulder, so he hugged her back tightly in return and even kissed her forehead, to which Vaan whistled.

Lapiz blushed at the sight, still not used to witnessing people openly showing their affection like this.

Whenever she was in the clubroom, she would see Alex spend time with Lavinia, Latifa, and Evangeline.

Although she was a maiden and was still ignorant of the ways of love, she was starting to become conscious of the lovey-dovey couples around her.

Nessia and Charles.

Chuck, Princess Xenia, and Mary.

For some reason, Chuck was now openly showing his affection to the princess, but only inside the clubroom.

Sometimes, they would cuddle on the couch, which surprised the members at the beginning. Of course, after seeing it multiple times, they have grown immune to it.

After all, they were engaged to each other. Such a scene wasn’t too surprising.

Charles and Nessia’s display of affection was the most subtle but perhaps the most interesting of all.

Sometimes, they would just look at each other and smile, as if they had shared a secret message that only the two of them knew about.

When Alex showed his affection to Latifa, he would sometimes brush her fluffy tail for her.

Truth be told, Lapiz was also very tempted to touch Latifa’s tail because it looked so fluffy. However, since it was impolite to do so, she simply imagined herself fluffing her tail inside her mind.

"Be careful of Alex Stratos. He is a bad influence."

Those were the words her sister had mentioned to her a while ago before she went to the clubroom after her classes ended.

Lapiz could understand why her sister was wary about Alex.

But whenever she saw how affectionate he was with his lovers and how they reciprocated his affection... she would often wonder what it would be like to be on the receiving end of that affection.

Suddenly, the young lady’s face reddened. For some reason, she imagined Alex hugging her and kissing her forehead like he did Evangeline.

When her eyes met Vaan’s, who was seated across from her, the redness on her face became a shade redder because her friend gave her a cheeky grin.

"I-It’s not what you think!" Lapiz mouthed slowly so that Vaan could read her lips.

Vaan replied by mouthing, "I didn’t say anything."

When Lapiz’s gaze shifted back to Alex, she saw him lightly patting Evangeline’s back while whispering something to her.

Evangeline nodded lightly. After that, the two of them left the clock tower together.

According to Evangeline, her father had already left the city after doing his business there.

Alex then proposed that the two of them should go take a stroll in the city and have a romantic dinner together.

Since this was exactly what Evangeline wanted, she happily accepted Alex’s request, leaving Lapiz behind, whose imagination was starting to run wild inside her head.
