Chapter 674: I’ll Give You What You Want

After he was kicked out of the Mistral Weave Forest, Alex stayed at its entrance and waited for Dim Dim and Latifa’s return.

A part of him felt anxious that Evarisse might really ask her daughter to stop seeing him due to the incident that happened between them.

Back then, Alex didn’t even know if his Divine Skill would work against the Rank 8 Celestial Fox.

He only thought that since he had nothing to lose, then he might as well use the strongest skill in his arsenal.

If anything, it was an all or nothing move. And to his surprise, it was actually super effective!

After one whole hour, Dim Dim, Latifa, and her Alters finally emerged from the forest.

"Dim!"

The little bun happily landed on Alex’s head and did a dabbing pose, as if it was the most normal thing to do.

"Welcome back, Dim Dim."

"Dim Dim~"

The young man then turned to Latifa, who reached out to hug him.

"What happened to your mother?" Alex asked.

"I should be the one asking you that question," Latifa replied. "What happened to you and my mother earlier? For some reason, she told me to be very careful whenever I’m around you because you are a walking calamity."

"A walking calamity?" Alex blinked. "Me?"

"Yes," Lumi replied. "When we tried to ask her what she meant by that, she just held her head with a pained expression. It was as if remembering what you had done to her was enough to make her suffer."

"So... did she give us her blessing?" Alex inquired.

"What do you think?" Lulu asked back in a teasing tone.

"So, she didn’t?" Alex looked at Lulu with a solemn expression.

"She said she will put her decision on hold for now," Lulu replied. "I’ve never seen our mother that troubled before. Whatever you did to her definitely left a lasting impression."

"We tried to ask Dim Dim what had happened between you two, but it said that it had gone into energy-saving mode when it happened, so it knew nothing," Lotte commented. "What is energy-saving mode anyway?"

Alex sighed and decided to tell Latifa and her Alters what really happened earlier. He told them how Evarisse had first asked him to run around the academy naked in exchange to have her blessing.

When Latifa heard this, she became speechless. She couldn’t believe that her mother had asked Alex such an unreasonable request that could have expelled him from the academy!

"You didn’t do it, right?" Latifa asked anxiously. "Tell me you didn’t."

"I didn’t do it." Alex shook his head. "Don’t worry."

Latifa and the Alters all sighed in relief after that.

When they had been imprisoned in the block of ice, time seemed to have stopped for them. One moment they were listening to Evarisse, the next, she was already collapsed on the ground, twitching like a dying insect.

Alex also told them that he had used one of his skills called "Voice of the End" against their mother, which resulted in the scene they saw when they were freed from her control.

"Whatever that Voice of the End is, it is truly powerful," Lulu commented. "If it can do that much harm to a Rank 8 Celestial Fox, no one is safe from that skill."

Dim Dim nodded, agreeing with Lulu’s statement. There were some things in the world that should never be seen or heard. Alex’s singing was one of them.

A few minutes later, everyone decided to return to the clock tower.

Since Evarisse had postponed her verdict as to whether Alex could continue dating her daughter, the young man decided to brainstorm how to make peace with his future mother-in-law.

But right now, he couldn’t think of any gift or way to fix their relationship. After all, Evarisse had given him an unreasonable request, which could have harmed him in ways no physical injury could ever do.

’I guess I’ll ask Sir Luthor how to handle this later,’ Alex thought.

He had no intention of meeting Evarisse on his own. The next time he visited Latifa’s mother, he would be bringing his guardian with him to prevent any mishaps targeted at his life.

When they arrived at their destination, they saw Charles giving Nessia a foot massage.

The young lady’s face was beet-red while she did her best to stop the muffled giggles escaping from her lips.

Charles was gently kneading the sole of her foot, which made her feel ticklish.

Unlike Alex who didn’t hesitate to show PDA with his lovers, Charles and Nessia only acted like a couple in private and in the clubroom.

Whenever they were outside, the most they did was hold hands. Nothing else.

"I was wondering why the clubroom was empty when we arrived," Nessia said after she asked Charles to stop massaging her foot for a moment. "Where did you all go?"

It was very rare for Latifa to leave the clubroom, so Nessia was curious where everyone had gone earlier.

"I went to meet Latifa’s mother," Alex replied.

"I see..." Nessia smirked. "And how did it go? Did she like you?"

Actually, Charles planned to come with Nessia to visit her parents during their summer break.

He planned to tell them that he was dating their daughter with the intention of marrying her after they graduated from the academy.

Of course, Nessia felt touched when she heard this proposal from Charles, so she agreed to take him back to her hometown to meet her parents.

She believed that since Charles was an honest and hardworking person, her parents would like him and give them their blessing.

This was why she was curious how Alex’s meeting with Latifa’s mother had turned out.

"I think I have made an impression on her," Alex replied using a safe answer.

Latifa and her Alters could only look at him with amusement because what he said wasn’t wrong.

He did leave a lasting impression on Evarisse. However, whether it was a good first impression or not was still up for debate.

"Oh right, Alex. I just remembered something," Nessia said. "Lapiz’s older sister, Aeris, was looking for you earlier. I told her you’re out, so she left a message for you."

"And what did she say?" Alex asked with genuine curiosity.

He had asked the perfect Heroine a very unreasonable request in exchange for important information about Hy-Brasil.

Alex was confident that Aeris would refuse his offer. Yet, what Nessia told him was the opposite.

"She said ’I’ll give you what you want’," Nessia replied.

For a moment, Alex thought he misheard his friend. But after he asked her to repeat Aeris’ message once more, the young man finally realized that Aeris had really agreed to his condition.

Of course, Alex didn’t plan to believe this unless he talked to Aeris face to face.

Little did he know that he would meet her soon and that she wouldn’t be coming on her own.
