Endless Leveling Done Right!

Chapter 709: Let’s Look Forward To A Wonderful Performance

Chapter 709: Let’s Look Forward To A Wonderful Performance

Just like the previous tournament, the musical competition was also held at the Coliseum of Everdawn.

The waiting rooms away from the audience’s eyes bustled with a flurry of activities.

“Have you seen my hairpin?”

“No. If you still can’t find it, you can just use mine.”

“Thank you!”

The candidates were all busy dressing up, doing their hair, and applying makeup to look their best before their turn on stage.

The stars of the show, the Singing King and the Singing Queen, had their own rooms, where they could make their own preparations before it was their turn to sing.

“Well, how do I look?” Alex asked his lovers, who were inside the room with him.

“You look great,” Latifa replied. “Very charming. Like a prince.”

Evangeline smiled faintly. She was the only one among them who knew that Alex was a literal prince.

She didn’t know why Alex wanted to keep this a secret from the others, but the reason didn’t matter. Since that was what he wanted, she would respect his decision.

Also, it made her secretly happy. That meant she knew a very important secret Alex wouldn’t tell anyone.

Lotte volunteered to be Alex’s hairstylist today, and she gave him the same hair that made everyone lose their minds back in the academy.

The young man also wore princely clothes. Anyone who saw him would, without a doubt, think of him as a prince without a crown.

“Well then. For the final touch…” Latifa said before standing on tiptoe to kiss Alex’s cheek.

She wasn’t wearing any lipstick. If anything, she only kissed Alex for good luck.

His other lovers did the same, wishing him good luck at the contest.

“We will be cheering for you in the stands,” Lavinia stated after she finished kissing him. “Make sure you win, okay?”

“Of course, I’ll win,” Alex replied with confidence. “I’ll dedicate my song to all of you.”

The ladies then bade him goodbye one by one. Suddenly, Lumi and Lulu passed through the walls and hurriedly gave Alex a kiss on the cheek for good luck before leaving the same way they entered.

Lotte blinked once, then twice, before she, too, moved to kiss Alex’s cheek before following behind her sisters.

The young man lightly touched his cheeks, which had been kissed by his lovers, before smiling faintly.

He truly felt blessed to have such wonderful women in his life, and he couldn’t ask for anything more.

Dim Dim was currently with Chuck, helping him save some good seats for their club members.

Although there was a section in the audience stands dedicated to the staff and students of Frieden Academy, their group preferred to be seated as near to the stage as possible to get the best view of the tournament.

Outside Alex’s room…

Professor Arienna had come in with her assistant, Heather.

As the head of the Musical Department, the Professor used her authority to find out where his room was.

When the Professor told Heather that their mission was to knock Alex unconscious to have Cassian take his place for the singing competition, the Assistant Professor immediately thought that her senior had gone mad!

“B-But why?” Heather asked. “Won’t that lower our chances of winning?”

“Calm down,” Professor Arienna replied. “Alex will still participate in the Battle Choir. He just won’t participate in the Singing King competition.”

“Like I said, why?” Heather insisted. “Give me a good reason, Professor.”

“You don’t need to know.” Professor Arienna frowned. “Just do as I say. If we don’t do this, then Frieden Academy’s reputation will suffer greatly. Both of us will face a cut to our salaries. Do you want that to happen?”

Heather immediately hesitated after hearing that her salary would be affected if she didn’t help the Professor knock Alex unconscious.

“I know what you’re thinking, but this is truly for the greater good,” Professor Arienna said in a serious tone. “This is for the greater good.”

“U-Understood.” Heather had no choice but to reluctantly agree. Professor Arienna looked so serious that she had been persuaded to trust her senior.

She felt like she was committing a terrible crime. A crime that might haunt her for life.

‘I’ll just apologize to Alex later,’ Heather thought.

Since Professor Arienna had arranged Alex’s room to be in the most isolated area within the coliseum, she wasn’t worried about anyone stumbling upon them.

But just as she and Heather were about to knock on the door, they suddenly felt drowsy.

A moment later, both women collapsed. However, a purple mist caught them before they collapsed to the ground, breaking their fall.

‘It seems that I’m not the only one who wants to sabotage you, Alex,’ Lady Evarisse mused. ‘To think that even your own Professor would want to prevent you from singing. However, I can’t let her do that. You need to sing and be humiliated in front of everyone.’

The Fox Lady wanted to break Alex socially so that he wouldn’t have time to think about her daughter anymore.

Now that a favorable disguise had presented itself to her, she decided to change into Professor Arienna’s appearance. That way, Alex would suspect his Professor instead of her after the incident was over.

After carefully hiding the two Professors in another empty room, Lady Evarisse finally knocked on Alex’s door.

“Professor Arienna?” Alex wasn’t that surprised to see the Professor visiting him before the singing competition. “Have you come to check on me?”

“That’s right, Alex,” Lady Evarisse, who had taken Professor Arienna’s form, replied with a smile. “How are you feeling? Do you think you can win today’s competition?”

“My victory is assured, Professor.” Alex patted his chest with confidence. “I won’t let you down.”

Lady Evarisse looked at the handsome young man. For a brief moment, she thought he might not necessarily be a bad partner for her daughter.

However, this thought only lasted for a few seconds before she tossed it to the side.

‘You might have the looks, but I still don’t like you,’ Lady Evarisse thought before entering the room. “Alex, I brought you a special potion that will help enhance the power of your voice when you sing later.”

“Thank you, Professor.” Alex smiled after receiving the potion. “But isn’t this considered cheating? A potion that enhances voices is not permitted, right?”

“Of course not,” Lady Evarisse replied. “Don’t worry, and just drink it. It also has a calming effect to make you feel less nervous.”

“But I’m not feeling nervous though?”

“Just drink it up, brat.”

“Um?”

“I-I mean, just drink it, please?” Lady Evarisse pressed her hands together in a pleading pose.

Seeing that the Music Professor was being so earnest, Alex decided to do as he was told and drank the potion.

The smile on Lady Evarisse’s lips grew wider after the young man handed her the empty potion bottle.

“Thank you, Professor,” Alex said. “I do feel better now.”

“You’re welcome.” Lady Evarisse patted the young man’s shoulder. “Good luck in the competition later. I am rooting for you!”

After bidding her goodbye, Lady Evarisse walked down the hallway with the evilest grin a villainess could ever muster.

“Enjoy your last performance, Alex,” Lady Evarisse muttered. “This will be your last curtain call.”

An evil chuckle escaped her lips before she transformed into a purple mist that dispersed right away.

A minute later, she reappeared beside Professor Matilda, who was waiting for her.

“Is it done?” Professor Matilda asked.

“Yes,” Lady Evarisse replied. “I watched him drink the potion down to the last drop.”

“Good.” Professor Matilda nodded. “Now, let’s look forward to a wonderful performance.”

The two women smiled evilly before giggling at the same time.

Both were already looking forward to Alex’s downfall, as well as the chaos that would follow suit.
