Chapter 728: It’s Not About What Others Want. It’s About What You Want [Part 1]
Chapter 728: It’s Not About What Others Want. It’s About What You Want [Part 1]
Alex had never danced this much in his life as he did in the party.
After dancing one song with Fran, his other lovers took turns to pair up with him one by one. Naturally, this included Latifa’s Alters.
An hour later, Alex escorted a satisfied Lulu back to the table before heading to the refreshment area to get something to drink.
Dim Dim was also there with Eiko. The two adorable kids were trying out the different fruit juices to see which one they liked best.
The Dim Sum God was quite popular in his human form. Surprisingly, it was not only the ladies from their club who asked to dance with Dim Dim. Some other students, who found him very cute, asked to dance with him as well.
By now, Dim Dim had already danced with a dozen girls aside from Eiko, with more than half of them being Alex’s lovers.
Eiko was very supportive in letting her best friends dance with the ladies. Though, whenever a guy asked her to dance with them, she would reject them politely.
Those who were persistent would suddenly be shot in the butt with one of Cupid’s arrows, which would make them forget any desire of dancing with Eiko.
Of course, no one could see Cupid and these arrows. Well, except for Alex.
The young man even hoped that aside from the short memory loss, the pitiful guys wouldn’t suffer any other side-effects from getting hit by an arrow that belonged to the God of Love.
Then again, Cupid didn’t even feel any guilt in shooting these young men.
Why?
That was because he firmly believed that getting hit by his arrows was more merciful than getting hit by Eiko’s blast bombs, which could easily destroy the royal palace holding the ball right now.
Lily also reminded Alex that Dim Dim’s transformation would fade away by midnight, so they needed to take the little bun away before the magic they cast on him lost its effects.
However, just as Alex was about to return to his seat, Aeris suddenly appeared before him as if she had been waiting for that moment.
“Alex, would you like to dance with me?” Aeris asked. “You’re not going to say no, right?”
At first, the young man thought that the elven princess was joking. He knew that Aeris didn’t like him and even warned Lapiz not to go near him.
“What are you planning?” Alex asked in a doubtful tone. “I am not in the mood for jokes, Your Highness.”
“What do you mean?” Aeris asked. “I’m just asking you for a dance. Are you thinking of turning down my invitation? The invitation of a princess?”
At that moment, the young man felt like he was in a tricky situation. There must be a reason why Aeris wished to dance with him. Yet, a glance was enough to tell him that she had no intention of saying what it was.
‘Perhaps she will tell me about it as we dance,’ Alex mused. ‘Still, I feel like this is a bad idea.’
It was at that moment that he imagined some multiple choices that would usually appear on special events where you were actively planning to pursue a route of one of the heroines.
——————
Choice A: Accept her invitation (Possible Death Flag)
Choice B: Reject her invitation politely (Possible Death Flag)
Choice C: Say you are taking a break from dancing (Possible Death Flag)
Choice D: Tell her that you would rather dance with Lapiz than her (100% Bad End)
——————
Alex casually swatted the imaginary options away because none of them looked appealing.
The first three choices all seemed to lead to death flags, while the last one practically had a giant “Game Over” sign hanging over it.
Truth be told, he didn’t want to accept Aeris’ invitation. However, seeing that the elven princess had no intention of taking no for an answer, he eventually decided to take a leap of faith.
After bracing himself internally, the young man smiled and offered his hand to the princess.
“It would be my honor, Your Highness,” Alex said with a smile.
Aeris returned his smile in return, and reached out to hold his hand.
Those who didn’t know the complicated relationship between the two would only think that Alex had shamelessly asked the princess to dance with him despite already having many lovers.
He failed to notice that Lapiz was looking at this scene from a distance with a frown on her face.
‘Why is my sister dancing with Alex?’ Lapiz thought. ‘I thought she hated him.’
Earlier, Aeris told Lapiz that no matter what happened, she was not allowed to dance with Alex.
Not wanting to defy her sister, Lapiz reluctantly agreed to her order.
But now, seeing her sister dance with the young man, whom she didn’t like and also didn’t like her back, made Lapiz wonder why her perfect sister chose to dance with Alex.
Was it only done to spite her?
Was it a warning?
Or was there any other meaning that she didn’t know about?
While these thoughts were swirling inside her head, someone had approached her from the side.
“Excuse me. I’m sorry if I’m being a busybody, but I noticed that you’ve been looking at Alex since earlier.”
Lapiz turned around to look at the person that spoke to her.
A petite young lady with long blonde hair and green eyes smiled back at her.
“Do I know you?” Lapiz asked.
“No,” Efa replied. “However, I know you. Alex told me about you.”
“He did?”
“Yes. He said that you are one of the ladies that he likes very much.”
“W-Wha?!”
Lapiz was taken aback by words of the young lady, whom she had never met before.
She wasn’t aware that even before Alex stepped foot in the academy, the young man had already confided in Efa, telling her about the ladies who held a place in his heart.
The imperfect elven princess who had an inferiority complex was one of them.
“My name is Efa,” Efa introduced herself to the bewildered young lady. “This might be the first time we are talking face to face like this, but I just want you to know that I am on your side.”
“On my side?” Lapiz blinked.
“Yes.” Efa nodded. “Now, tell me something. Do you wish to dance with Alex?”
“I-I can’t dance with him,” Lapiz replied sadly.
“And why can’t you dance with him?”
“It’s because my sister told me not to dance with him.”
Efa glanced at Alex and Aeris, who just arrived at the dance floor. Then, as if on cue, Aeris glanced in the direction where her sister was, only to see Efa looking in her direction.
Aeris didn’t recognize Efa. Though, looking at her expression, she was certain that Lapiz had seen her invite Alex to the dance floor.
Efa smiled at Aeris before shifting her attention back to Lapiz.
The young lady then moved closer to whisper something to the elven princess’s ear.
A moment later, Lapiz’s face started to redden as she listened to Efa’s words, which had sparked a small flame inside her chest.
