Chapter 727: My Gut Instinct Is Telling Me That He Secretly Has A Crush On You

Alex could feel the countless stares locked onto his body.

Currently, the young man was surrounded by not one, not two, but seven beautiful ladies.

Alex was currently hugging Fran, who was seated on his lap. Then, on his left and right side were Lavinia and Latifa.

Evangeline sat beside Lavinia, while Lumi and Lotte sat beside Latifa.

As for Lulu?

She stood up and hugged Alex from behind, making sure that all the guys could see how close they were.

Even Princess Xenia, Chuck, and Mary, who had all arrived a few minutes later, decided to sit at a different table because they didn’t want to sit anywhere near Alex right now.

With that, they moved toward Renard, Nessia, and Charles’ table, which was two tables away from their club president that was currently being treated as public enemy number one.

The young man also noticed Aeris sneaking subtle glances at him as she moved around the event hall.

Whenever their gazes met, the elven princess glared at him as if Alex owed her a debt he hadn’t paid for many years.

Lapiz had also returned to their family’s table. Though, just like Aeris, she couldn’t help but sneak glances at Alex’s table from time to time.

She already knew that Alex had a relationship with her club members. However, this sight truly made her understand the number of ladies that shared Alex’s heart.

Suddenly, a melody started to play in the background.

From the corner of his eyes, Alex saw Lily and Cupid pushing Eiko and Dim Dim towards the dance floor.

Since Cupid had already given Dim Dim and Eiko the “Dance Skill,” the two of them would be able to dance without problems.

Usually, when the music started playing, people would all gather at the dance floor. But this time, no one stood up.

Instead, they all simply looked at the two adorable kids that walked toward the center of the ballroom and started to dance with each other soon after.

It was as if they didn’t want to ruin this moment for the two of them, so they simply watched as they danced together.

“I didn’t know Dimitri was such a good dancer,” Lavinia said with a smile. “Maybe I should ask him to dance with me later. You won’t mind right, Alex?”

“I won’t,” Alex replied. “But don’t force him, okay? Dimitri is very social, but he is with his best friend right now.”

“That cute girl is his best friend?” Lotte asked. “Are they perhaps childhood sweethearts?”

“…Childhood sweethearts might be pushing it.” Alex smiled wryly.

While he knew that Dim Dim and Eiko were best friends, he was certain that they weren’t childhood sweethearts.

A few minutes later, the dance finally ended.

Soon, a thunderous applause spread across the ballroom as Dim Dim and Eiko bowed to each other.

“Bravo!” Princess Xenia clapped her hands before reaching out to hold Chuck’s hand. “I’ll be dancing first, Mary.”

“Yes, Your Highness.” Mary bowed. “I’ll dance with him next.”

Chuck could only smile faintly as he led his fiancee to the dance floor. Soon, more people followed them.

It was then that Alex thought of something.

“Fran, do you want to dance?” Alex asked.

“I don’t know how to dance.” Fran lowered her head in response, feeling embarrassed that she didn’t try to learn dancing.

“Don’t worry. I have a plan,” Alex replied. “Do you trust me?”

“Un. I trust you.”

“Good. Then, let’s go.”

Taking her hand, Alex led his lover to the dance floor.

Once there, Fran felt a little anxious because she truly never learned how to dance. It was then when Alex lowered his head to whisper something in her ear.

“Eh?!” Fran looked at Alex in disbelief. “Are you serious?”

“Very,” Alex replied with a mischievous smile. “You are very good when it comes to balance, right?”

“Yes.” Fran nodded. “But do you think this will really work?”

“It will.” Alex replied. “Trust me.”

One of the skills the young man had learned in the past was the skill, Multi-task.

This allowed him to control his shields remotely while he was fighting with someone.

And now, he planned to use the same skill to help Fran dance.

With that, Alex summoned two small shields under Fran’s feet, which slowly hovered two inches above the ground.

Finally, the music started to play, and soon, everyone started to dance.

Alex’s right hand supported his partner’s waist, while his other hand held her hand.

At first, Fran still felt anxious. But a minute after they started dancing, she was even starting to enjoy the feeling of “dancing” in this manner.

In the eyes of others, she looked like an experienced dancer because she was able to move gracefully in sync with Alex.

However, those with discerning eyes noticed that Fran’s feet weren’t actually touching the floor.

Lulu was the first one to notice, sharing this piece of information with everyone else on their table.

Since they heard Fran say that she didn’t know how to dance, they were quite curious as to how she suddenly became good at dancing.

Though, after Lulu explained what was happening, they finally understood the trick Alex used to make the young lady look like a professional dancer.

When the music finally ended, Alex and Fran bowed to each other before heading back to their table.

“Switch!” Lavinia didn’t hesitate to stand up so that she could dance with Alex next.

Meanwhile, Dimitri found himself surrounded by Latifa’s Alters, who all wished to dance with him.

“Dance with them,” Eiko said with a smile. “They are your friends, right?”

“Yes.” Dimitri nodded.

“Then go ahead. I’ll wait for you.”

“Un!”

After that short exchange, Lotte led Dimitri to the dance floor, while Eiko moved toward the buffet area.

On the other hand, Lily and Cupid hurried after the fairy princess, who might suddenly revert to her slime form if no one was watching over her.

Somewhere in the event hall…

“Are you sure you want to dance with him?” Cassian frowned. “That might not be a good idea right now, Astrea.”

“Why?” Astrea asked.

“Because people might think that you’re also one of his women,” Cassian replied. “That might ruin your marriage prospects, you know?”

“It will?”

“… Why do you look happy? I know that you’re sick and tired of those arranged meetings that are set by Father, but if he hears about this, he will definitely not like it.”

Astrea frowned. “I think you’re just being biased. Alex is a good person. He didn’t even confess to me like the other boys in the academy, so why are you so wary of him?”

“My gut instinct is telling me that he secretly has a crush on you,” Cassian answered.

“Well, your gut instinct may be wrong this time, brother,” Astrea replied. “I don’t think Alex likes me the same way he does his lovers.”

“Hah? Why would he not like you? You’re beautiful, kind, hardworking, good with children, a great singer, a talented mage, a klutz, and the only person I know who can trip over absolutely nothing. Ah! I forgot to add the fact that you’re the only person I know who can get lost inside her own residence.”

Astrea’s face immediately turned red. “Brother!”

“What?” Cassian asked. “Everything I said was true.”

“Did you really have to mention that last part!”

“You got lost three times.”

“The hallways look similar!” Astrea protested. “And our house is so big. Why does it have to be that big?”

Cassian ignored her protest. “You also accidentally fed Father’s expensive tea leaves to the rabbits.”

“I thought they were vegetables!” Astrea averted her gaze. “It was an accident!”

“You apologized to the rabbits afterward instead of apologizing to Father.”

“That’s because they didn’t like it!”

Several nobles nearby who overheard the conversation struggled to hold back their laughter.

“You know what? Fine.” Cassian sighed. “You’re already an adult. If you want to dance with him, then go ahead. Just don’t say that I didn’t warn you.”

“Thanks! I love you, Brother!” Astrea hugged Cassian in return, who sighed a second time before patting her back. “Just make sure you don’t trip on the dance floor. Then again, feel free to step on Alex’s foot. He deserves it.”

“…”

“What?”

“Nothing!” Astrea pouted.

She didn’t believe that she would trip or step on Alex’s foot because she was actually very good when it came to dancing.

Unfortunately for Alex, he would soon realize that dancing with Astrea was not a lucky event, but instead a daunting challenge on its own.
