Endless Leveling Done Right!

Chapter 790: Astrea’s Resolve [Part 2]

Chapter 790: Astrea’s Resolve [Part 2]

A few minutes later, he put the finished talismans down on the table.

“All of them are well made,” Chuck said as he looked at Astrea with admiration. “I hate to admit it, but they’re even better than the ones I made. I didn’t know you were this talented, Astrea.”

Hearing the young man’s praise finally made Astrea breathe ‌a sigh of relief. She then placed her hands on her hips and raised her chin with arrogance.

“There’s nothing I can’t do if I put my heart and mind into it,” Astrea declared in response.

Chuck chuckled at her words. He could somewhat imagine Dim Dim suddenly appearing on top of Astrea’s head and raising its body while saying “Ahem!”

In his mind, both the young lady and the little bun looked as if they were asking to be praised more.

Unfortunately, Chuck had no time to praise the two. Three hundred and fifty talismans were still waiting to be made, so he needed to return to work.

Suddenly, they heard the rustling of clothes on the other couch in the room.

At that moment, Lapiz stirred from her sleep. She was woken up by Chuck and Astrea’s banter. Though, just like the young man, the moment she noticed that the sky outside the window was already dark, she started to panic.

It was a good thing that Chuck perfectly understood what Lapiz was feeling at the moment, beginning his explanation.

“I see…” Lapiz patted her chest in relief. “I almost had a heart attack.”

“You’re still young.” Astrea blinked back. “Why would you get a heart attack?”

Chuck and Lapiz glanced at each other in response before exchanging wry smiles.

“Let’s get back to work,” Chuck said, changing the subject.

“That’s right.” Lapiz agreed.

Then, as if waiting for that moment, they heard a knock on the door, forcing the three to look in its direction.

“Come in,” Chuck said.

Soon, the door opened, revealing a beautiful elf. She was none other than Aeris, who had just finished double-checking the magical array meant to defend the capital city of Faelarun.

“I’ve come to help in the talisman creation,” Aeris said.

“Good!” Chuck nodded. “If the four of us work together, we will be able to finish before midnight.”

Behind Aeris, another beautiful lady entered the room.

“I know that all of you are working hard, so please have dinner first,” Queen Elaris, Aeris and Lapiz’s mother, said with a smile.

Although she wasn’t currently the Elven Queen, but the Head Maid of the Royal Family instead, the way she carried herself was fitting for someone who belonged to the royal family.

A loud rumbling sound reached everyone’s ears in response, which made them look in Chuck’s direction.

He had been working very hard creating talismans all this time that he had forgotten to eat his lunch earlier.

And now that the sky had darkened, the brunt of his hunger finally hit him.

“Eat first,” Elaris stated, her words not accepting any form of opposition. “How can you defend the capital if you’re hungry? The sooner you finish eating, the sooner you will be able to resume working.”

Her reasoning was flawless, and no one in the room dared to oppose her.

Elaris then clapped her hands, and soon, the door was opened wide.

Within seconds, several maids entered the room, pushing food carts filled with trays of food before setting them up on the unoccupied table inside the room.

The delicious smell made Astrea move towards the table as she sat without being invited.

When she awakened her draconic lineage, her appetite had also increased, making her eat three times more than usual.

Chuck, Lapiz, Aeris, and Eleanora also sat around the table and began to eat the food that was prepared for them.

No one spoke after that.

After all, they were too busy eating.

Elaris watched them eat with a satisfied look on her face. She knew how hard everyone had been working, and this was the only way she could help them all.

When everyone finished their meals, they returned to talisman creation.

They knew that every second, every minute, and every hour was precious. Now that they were full and well-rested, they had to finish everything before the invaders arrived.

‘Don’t worry, Alex,’ Astrea thought as she finished another talisman. ‘We will make it in time. So, please. Come back safely.’

Outside the Royal Palace…

Lavinia looked at the star-filled sky while standing on the ramparts of the city.

Her brother, Cairo, and the swordswoman, Elaine, were also there, looking at the sky.

Cairo had a solemn expression on his face after Aeris told him that the strength of their enemies would be Rank 7 and above.

After traveling around and facing some fruitful encounters, Cairo had managed to raise his rank to Rank 6.

He had joined Alex on this mission to ensure that his disciple and his sister were safe from harm.

Despite their opponents being stronger than them, Cairo couldn’t help but admire his disciple and his friends.

‘Even though they already know that their enemies will be more powerful than them, they’ve still decided to stand their ground instead of running away,’ Cairo thought. ‘It seems that I still have much to learn from my sister and my disciple.’

The future Heaven’s Sword then had a moment of enlightenment.

Cairo understood that there would come a time when he would have to face someone more powerful than him in battle.

He would have to fight a battle where his chances of winning were nearly non-existent.

Yet, he knew that the moment he overcame this challenge, his swordsmanship would reach a height that would allow him to face opponents stronger than him in the future.

The more he thought of this, the more he looked forward to facing the invaders that would cross over to their world.

At that moment, Elaine looked at her lover, who seemed fired up to face strong opponents. After spending time with Cairo, she learned to love his quiet strength that didn’t allow injustice to pass by.

During their travels, they helped many people in need. Yet, Cairo remained humble, not letting his heroic deeds get to his head.

He remained grounded, looking at the world like a warrior wanting to make it a better place.

Though that wasn’t the only thing Elaine liked about Cairo.

His other “sword” also brought her joy whenever they embraced each other at night. Although he wasn’t an expert in lovemaking, he was sincere and genuinely cared about her.

On top of that, Cairo was also a fast learner. He quickly learned how to make Elaine feel good, and his technique grew more refined every time they faced each other on the battlefield under the sheets.

‘I hope we can all return safely to the real world,’ Elaine thought before remembering Alex’s words, which made her body stiffen. ‘Wait… did I just set up a death flag?’

She blinked once, then twice, before pressing her hands together. Elaine then prayed to whichever God could hear her.

‘Please forget what I said,’ Elaine prayed desperately. ‘Please erase the flag that I said without thinking!’

In the past, she wouldn’t have cared about such words. However, during the short time that she had spent with Alex, the young man would always chastise her not to set up flags.

Though whether a God heard her desperate plea or not, Elaine would never know.
