Chapter 793: Don’t You Dare Stop Me
Chapter 793: Don’t You Dare Stop Me
Alex was still on his way back to Everdawn City.
According to his estimates, it would take them one more day to return to the capital city of the Kingdom of Faelarun.
He looked calm on the surface, but deep inside, he felt quite anxious.
Fortunately, they had accomplished their mission without suffering too many casualties. Charles was now under control, with Nessia watching over him.
With him leading the army, everyone was in high spirits.
Dim Dim, who was perched on top of his head, was also humming a happy tune. Clearly, the little bun was in a good mood.
Suddenly, the Dim Sum God sensed a faint ripple of power on the horizon. Alex felt it too, making his body tense up.
“Dim Dim, are they here?” Alex asked.
He already knew the answer to his question. However, he needed his partner’s assurance just in case he was merely overthinking things.
“Dim.” Dim Dim nodded in a solemn tone.
The young man subconsciously gripped the reins of his hippogriff a little tighter before giving an order.
“Men, increase your pace!” Alex ordered. “The enemy has arrived, and they are headed for Everdawn City!”
Vaan, riding a short distance away from Alex, narrowed his eyes.
The enemy had arrived, yet they were still away from their battlefield.
Knowing that they needed to return to Everdawn City as soon as possible, Vaan quickly made a move.
“Alex, ride with me!” Vaan said. “Charles, Nessia, Fran, Latifa, and Evangeline can also ride with us on my chariot. With this, we will arrive faster than the main army.”
Alex didn’t even bat an eye as he agreed to Vaan’s proposal.
“Commander, we will go ahead of you,” Alex declared. “So, please, return to the city as fast as you can. We need to defend it with everything we have!”
“Yes, Your Majesty!” The Commander pressed his hand over his chest before bowing respectfully toward his king. “May fortune smile upon you, Your Majesty!”
Alex nodded before dismounting his hippogriff to ride on the chariot Vaan had summoned.
Renard and Fran carried the tied-up Charles into the chariot, while Evangeline, Latifa, and Nessia followed behind them.
Vaan used his powers to enlarge the chariot, allowing all of his friends to board it. The moment everyone was finally seated, the young man smiled fearlessly.
“Hold on tight,” Vaan advised. “We will be flying at full speed.”
His friends didn’t need to be told twice and acted as they were told.
Dim Dim bounced down onto Alex’s lap and held onto his clothes lest it get blown away when the chariot soared through the sky.
A minute later, Vaan’s “Hyaaaah!” spread across the surroundings.
The magnificent steeds pulling his carriage shot up through the air until they were high above the clouds.
‘Everyone, please be safe,’ Alex thought as he looked over the horizon.
Although he was hopeful, there was always a chance that those from Reverse Arcana would arrive at Everdawn City before them.

In a place no mortals could see, three people watched from the heavens…
“Tell me everything you know about what is happening down there,” the young man with short black hair and green eyes said to The Hermit, who had almost clashed with them after presuming they were dangerous beings who came from another world.
The Hermit frowned in response. He was not obligated to tell the guests who had forcefully entered their world anything. However, he changed his mind when he saw the young man’s companion.
A glance was enough to tell that the young lady was a divine being.
A Goddess whose powers covered the entire multiverse.
“This island serves as the location of a trial,” The Hermit explained. “And those children are the trial takers. By the way, who are you?”
“Who I am is not important,” the young man replied. “What is important is that you answer my questions. What is the condition for passing the trial?”
The Hermit was tempted to ignore the question, but the young lady accompanying his annoying guest smiled apologetically back at The Hermit.
“Don’t take his rudeness and straightforwardness to heart,” the young lady, who had long black hair and golden eyes, said. “He’s just worried about our daughter, as she is also taking the trial.”
“Your daughter?” The Hermit couldn’t help but be curious after hearing the Goddess’ reply. “Which one is your daughter?”
“Her.” The young lady pointed at one of the ladies inside the castle.
The Hermit looked at the Goddess, then at the person that she had pointed to. For a brief moment, a confused look appeared on the Deity’s face.
“Are you sure she’s your daughter?” The Hermit asked politely. “From what I can see, she was born into her current family.”
“It’s a bit complicated to explain.” The Goddess shook her head helplessly. “We can only assure you that she is indeed our daughter. You see, my husband wanted to see her, so we traveled across the stars to find her. To our surprise, she seems to be in some kind of trouble.”
“Well, trouble is putting it lightly,” The Hermit admitted. “I’m afraid they are currently facing a very dangerous situation.”
The Hermit then explained briefly to them about the invaders from Reverse Arcana, as well as the consequences of the invaders succeeding in their mission.
The two guests listened to his explanation silently without interruption.
When The Hermit was done, the young man narrowed his eyes.
“Just so you know, if my daughter is about to lose her life, I’m going in,” the young man said. “And don’t you dare stop me.”
His gaze was so intense that The Hermit subconsciously took a step back.
The Deity of Arcana could tell that the young man was serious. Even the Goddess right beside him seemed to agree with his words.
Clearly, the two of them were worried about their daughter.
The Hermit was sure that they would not care about the consequences and would interfere with the trial no matter what as long as they deemed that their daughter was in danger.
“I… understand,” The Hermit had no choice but to agree to the young man’s words, sensing that he might just cease to exist if he dared to stop him.
The Goddess lightly squeezed her husband’s hand, telling him to calm down a bit.
Zion Leventis, who also went by the name Thirteen, looked at the group of Reverse Arcana, as well as Alex’s group.
His gaze then locked onto the faces of the two young men, whom he believed to be the leaders of their respective factions.
He knew interfering with this world was a bad idea. But how could a father possibly watch from the side as his daughter died a second time under his watch?
