Chapter 815: A Breakfast To Remember
Chapter 815: A Breakfast To Remember
After a quick shower, Alex dressed himself properly and let himself be guided to the dining area, where the King and Queen were waiting.
“Please sit, Alex,” King Aerindir said with a smile.
Alex obediently followed the King’s gesture, but froze for a moment when he realized which seat Aerindir had pointed at.
It was the seat directly to the King’s left.
He hadn’t expected to be seated beside the King of Faelarun himself.
“What’s wrong?” Queen Elaris asked in a teasing tone. “Please be seated so breakfast can be served.”
“Y-Yes, Your Majesty.” Alex walked almost robotically to his chair and sat there stiffly.
Aeris, who was seated right beside her mother, smiled faintly after seeing how nervous Alex was.
“Serve the food,” King Aerindir ordered.
As soon as the order was given, the maids moved with practiced grace, filling the table with the best dishes that the King had asked of them to prepare for breakfast.
While the food was being served, the King glanced at his daughter and asked her a question.
“Where is your sister?” King Aerindir asked. “Is she still asleep?”
Aeris didn’t reply right away. She sent a mischievous glance in Alex’s direction as if she were implying something. But before the King could connect the dots, the perfect heroine gave her reply.
“I went to her room earlier and noticed that she was still asleep,” Aeris answered. “But I managed to wake her up. I’m sure she will join us soon enough.”
She didn’t lie.
After visiting Alex’s room, she headed to her sister’s room and simply told her to take a shower and use her healing wind to remove the small bruises that were visible on her body.
Lapiz didn’t even try to hide the marks that Alex had left behind and simply obeyed her sister.
She went to the bathroom to take a shower and used her healing abilities to remove the evidence that could be seen, leaving only those that could be hidden by her clothes.
The princess wanted those marks to remain, for it made her feel like she truly belonged to Alex now.
“She must still be exhausted from her ordeal of saving your mother.” King Aerindir sighed. “Maybe you should have let her rest for a little longer.”
“Yes… she must be quite exhausted right now,” Aeris agreed. “Isn’t that right, Alex?”
The young man almost choked on the bread he was eating after Aeris had deflected the topic in his direction.
He even started thumping his chest as he forced the food down his throat before drinking the glass of fruit juice by his side.
“Eat slowly, Alex,” Queen Elaris said kindly. “There’s plenty of food to eat. No need to rush things.”
“Y-Yes, Moth—errrr, Your Majesty,” Alex almost said mother, which made Aeris cover her lips with her hand to hide her smile.
King Aerindir then took a sausage to his plate as he asked Alex a question.
“Alex, I heard that you and my daughters have shared intimate moments in Hy-Brasil,” King Aerindir said before slicing through the sausage on his plate, cutting it in half. “Is that right?”
“Y-Yes, Your Majesty.” Alex gulped as his gaze locked onto the sausage that was cut right in the middle.
“I see.” King Aerindir nodded. “Everyone, please leave the dining table.”
The head butler, head maid, and the other maids all bowed respectfully before leaving the dining area.
Clearly, King Aerindir wished to talk about something not meant for them to hear.
When he was certain that no one could eavesdrop into their conversation, the King continued the words he wished to say.
“Well then. This makes things simpler, no?” King Aerindir smiled. “Do you plan to take responsibility and marry my daughters?”
“Y-Yes.” Alex knew that if he gave him a different reply, the sausage that was on the King’s plate would become his future.
Suddenly, the King laughed while Queen Elaris giggled.
“Honey, you’re so mean,” Queen Elaris said after she finished laughing. “You scared Alex.”
“Hahaha!” King Aerindir continued laughing for a few more seconds before he patted Alex on the shoulder. “It’s good to know that you are man enough to take responsibility. It seems that my daughters have chosen someone with a backbone. Right, Aeris?”
“Yes, Father,” Aeris replied. “While I still think that he is a bit lacking, there is no one more suitable than him to become our husband in this generation.”
Suddenly, they heard the sound of footsteps in the hallway that led to the dining area.
A moment later, Lapiz walked inside the room and hurriedly sat down.
She didn’t sit beside her sister. Instead, she sat beside Alex.
The beautiful elven princess even planted a kiss on his cheek before filling up her plate with food.
Alex froze in place, his brain short-circuiting in that instant.
“Oh my…” Queen Elaris looked at her daughter, surprised at how bold she had become.
Since she had been trapped in the island of Hy-Brasil, she wasn’t aware that Lapiz had this kind of boldness in the past.
She was shy, reserved, and never did things that brought attention to her.
However, King Aerindir had seen her grow up.
This was why he was very shocked to see Lapiz kiss someone on the cheek right in front of him.
“L-Lapiz…” King Aerindir called out to his daughter.
“Good morning, Father,” Lapiz replied with a bright smile. “What is it?”
“Um… good morning to you too,” King Aerindir replied. “You look very bright today. Did something good happen?”
“Yes.” Lapiz nodded. “Something good did happen.”
“Oh? Care to tell us what it is?”
“Sorry, but it’s a secret!”
Lapiz even playfully placed a finger over her lips as she playfully winked at her father.
This time, even Aeris couldn’t help but blink in shock. Her sister had never acted like this before.
This was her first time seeing her sister be this playful and confident since the day she was born.
“Oh? Now you’re keeping secrets from me, huh?” King Aerindir grinned. “My daughter has really grown. I’m sure that you’ll become a fine woman someday.”
Aeris smiled faintly.
She had already become a woman last night.
The young lady had also experienced and done things that would have made her father’s face turn pale from shock.
Thankfully, her father didn’t know any of that yet.
Otherwise, breakfast would probably either end with someone getting his sausage cut in half, or end with it turning into a bloodbath after the King learned that the young man seated beside him had already eaten up his daughter last night… right under his very nose.
