Chapter 819: A Warm Welcome
Chapter 819: A Warm Welcome
“Dim Dim!” Alex spread his arms wide as soon as he saw the little bun hopping toward him as fast as it could.
“Dim Dim!” Dim Dim shouted before jumping into Alex’s arms.
The young man easily caught his partner and then hugged the living sh*t out of it.
The Dim Sum God didn’t mind. After all, it had missed Alex very much. If anything, it was beyond glad that he had finally returned to the academy.
“Have you eaten dinner?” Alex asked.
“Dim!” Dim Dim nodded. “Dim Dim!”
“Oh, you ate Fran’s cooking? I bet it tastes good.”
“Dim!”
The young man smiled faintly. He, too, wished to see Fran. Dim Dim could sense where Alex was as long as he wasn’t too far from it.
That was why he had hurried to the gate to welcome him back.
Aeris, Lapiz, Princess Xenia, and Mary couldn’t help but smile after seeing this touching reunion.
They returned to the academy right after the airship landed, so they had yet to eat anything. The reason for this was simple.
Alex said that they should head to the clubroom and let Lotte and Mary cook them dinner.
Since they all knew that Lotte and Mary’s cooking was delicious, no one opposed this idea.
Even Aeris seemed quite interested in visiting the clubroom where Alex and her sister were staying during their days in the academy.
The little bun happily crawled on top of the young man’s head as it started humming happily.
The tune was rather familiar. It was the pirate song that Dim Dim’s best friend, Eiko, liked to sing whenever they were together.
Hearing this familiar tune, Alex finally felt like he had once again returned to the academy. Their experience in Hy-Brasil was probably the most dangerous experience that they had faced so far.
If not for Alex surrendering himself completely to the effect of the Synchronization Rate, allowing King Aetherion to take control of his body, their ending would have been a tragic one.
They were hopelessly outmatched in every way. He could not see a chance of victory at all.
Sure, his gamble had paid off, but Alex felt helpless.
Truly helpless.
Even now, Reverse Alex’s words still haunted him.
“You will never be able to protect anyone with a shield!”
He said those words with such firmness that Alex could feel the anger and pain behind them.
“What are you thinking?” Aeris noticed that Alex’s expression had turned serious all of a sudden.
“N-Nothing,” Alex replied. “I was just thinking about what we will have for dinner.”
“You think about dinner with that kind of expression?” Aeris looked genuinely amused. “It’s like you’re about to butcher someone and serve them as steak.”
“H-Haha. What are you talking about?” Alex couldn’t help but think that Aeris was a very observant person.
He noticed that ever since she started to get close to him, the elven princess was paying close attention to his every action and expression.
It wasn’t to the extent that Aeris was able to read him like a book. But with her sharp intuition, it was very easy for her to know if Alex was brooding over something or not.
“Alex, if you are feeling troubled, feel free to talk to me about it,” Lapiz said as she reached out to hold his hand. “I’m here for you.”
“Thank you, Lapiz.” Alex gave her hand a light squeeze, making sure that she understood how much her words meant to him.
As for Aeris, she maintained a meter of distance from the young man, which actually surprised him.
On the way to the academy, she had clung to his arms, attracting the envious gaze of every man they passed by on the streets. They even looked at Alex as if they wanted to punch his face.
But now that they were in the academy, she made sure to keep her distance as if to make sure that the image she had built for many years wouldn’t crumble overnight.
Still, Alex knew that the moment she and Aeris were inside a room with just the two of them, she would ravage his lips and mark him as her man.
“You girls go to the clubroom first,” Alex said. “I’ll just drop by the farm and the dormitory real quick to tell the others that we have returned.”
“Understood.” Princess Xenia nodded. “I’ll also tell Latifa that you’re back.”
“Thank you,” Alex replied.
He then headed to Fran’s farm because it was the closest. When he knocked on the door and called out to Fran, the door opened in mere seconds.
Fran hugged Alex tightly and buried her head on his chest.
“I’m back, Fran,” Alex said, hugging her tightly. “I missed you.”
“Welcome back,” Fran replied. “I missed you too.”
The two stayed like that for a full minute before Fran reluctantly pulled back.
Alex then lowered his head, and soon, they exchanged a kiss on the lips.
Finn, who just happened to pass by them at that moment, told the two that they shouldn’t kiss outside where they could be seen and to go get a room.
Alex and Fran exchanged knowing smiles with each other in response. Finn had already accepted their relationship, so he no longer treated Alex like dirt.
The handsome dwarf also had his hands full with his three beautiful dryad lovers. And frankly, he had no complaints.
Well, he might have a complaint, but it would sound like a humble brag.
Recently, he’d been struggling every night due to his lovers teaming up to milk him dry.
If not for the potions and pills they crafted to increase Finn’s stamina and vitality, the dwarf would not have been able to satisfy all three of them at once.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” Alex said softly, kissing Fran on her right cheek. “I’ll head to the dormitory to inform the others before heading to the clubroom to have dinner.”
“You still haven’t eaten?” Fran asked.
“Not yet.” Alex shook his head.
“Good.” Fran smiled. “I still have some leftovers from dinner. I’ll bring it to the clubroom.”
“Thank you.” Alex smirked. “I missed your home cooking.”
After reluctantly saying goodbye and kissing Fran three more times, Alex finally headed to the dormitory to look for Lavinia and Evangeline.
Fortunately, the two of them were in the common room of the dormitory when he arrived.
Without even batting an eye, the two kissed Alex in front of everyone, making his dorm mates curse him internally.
Alex didn’t know whether he should laugh or cry at their reaction.
If they found out that he was also engaged to Lapiz and Aeris, then wouldn’t all the men in the academy drown him in spit?
Setting these thoughts aside, Alex walked hand in hand with Lavinia and Evangeline as they headed to the clubroom, where they would have dinner together with the others to celebrate his return to the academy.
