Chapter 821: Fate Has Other Plans For Him

Last night, Alex drank more than usual.

Although he only drank champagne, he downed about seven to eight glasses throughout the night.

Meanwhile, his friends drank less than and returned to the dorms before curfew.

Dim Dim also drank three glasses of that bubbly drink. However, that was more than enough to turn the little bun into a giggling ball, prompting the ladies to team up and prevent it from drinking more.

In the end, Fran decided to take Dim Dim back to the farm and have it rest with Daisy and the other beasts in the shed.

Fran and her brother, Finn, had made a small comfortable bed for Dim Dim to sleep whenever it wished to have a sleepover with its friends.

It hung on the wall, right beside Daisy’s pen, allowing the little bun to sleep comfortably at night.

After his friends left, Alex drank a few more glasses before calling it a night.

He couldn’t remember much of what happened after that, aside from being led to the bed and having his clothes removed by Lavinia.

When he woke up, he immediately felt his body feeling sluggish and his mouth feeling dry.

A few minutes later, when his mind was finally working a little better, he was finally able to see his current situation.

He was currently sandwiched between Evangeline and Latifa.

And for some reason, Lavinia’s head was resting on his stomach as well.

‘No wonder I felt heavy,’ Alex thought as he looked at his lovers, who were all naked just like him.

He couldn’t remember if they had done anything last night. His memories were blurry, and no matter how hard he tried to recall last night’s events, it only made his headache grow more intense, so he stopped.

‘I’ll never drink more than three glasses of champagne again,’ Alex thought. ‘How will I be able to go to class later with this headache?’

As if hearing his inner thoughts, he saw someone materialize right above his body with a faint smile on her face.

Although Latifa’s Alters, with the exception of Lulu, looked very much like her, Alex was able to tell them apart based on the expressions on their faces.

Latifa had this sleepy vibe to her even though she was fully awake.

Lumi had this fierce gaze, as if she was itching for a fight all the time.

Lotte, on the other hand, looked very calm, and would often show a faint smile whenever she looked at Alex.

And based on the expression she had right now, Alex was certain that the Alter hovering above him was none other than Lotte.

While still floating in the air, she reached out to cup his face before using her healing ability to get rid of his hangover.

Her hands felt cool and refreshing, making Alex sigh as the heaviness in his body and the pain in his head slowly disappeared.

When everything almost faded away, Lotte’s head moved closer to him, prompting Alex to subconsciously close his eyes.

A few seconds later, a pair of soft lips pressed over his own.

The kiss only lasted for three seconds, followed by three soft pecks.

When it was over, Lotte turned invisible and disappeared from his sight.

Perhaps unwilling to let Alex see her embarrassment, she decided to hide before he opened his eyes.

‘It’s very rare for Lotte to be this bold,’ Alex thought. ‘Perhaps what happened in Hy-Brasil made her this way.’

While no one wanted to admit it, the fact that some of them now thought differently after returning from the Trial of the Hermit was as real as it could get.

They all saw their shortcomings, as well as how helpless they were when facing someone stronger than them.

This was the first time that they had truly experienced what it was like to fight someone that was leagues above their current rank.

Even so, none of them planned to make an excuse like, “losing is normal because they are stronger than me.”

They thought differently.

After experiencing that feeling of helplessness, the desire to become stronger now burned brighter inside their hearts.

Now that his body and mind felt a lot better, the young man could better appreciate the scenery in front of him.

Since it seemed like none of the ladies planned to wake up for the time being, Alex enjoyed the feeling of being wrapped up in their softness and warmth.

Suddenly, another Alter materialized in front of him.

But after seeing her, Alex’s body stiffened.

The young lady looked at Alex shyly and cupped her own face. He could even see the blush that was creeping from her neck up to her cheeks.

Soon, her entire face turned red as she looked at Alex’s current situation.

“Lala…” Alex said softly. “Is that you?”

Lala panicked a bit before turning invisible as Lotte did a while ago.

It was then that he remembered that the original Lala was a shy child who was very different from the playfulness of Reverse Lala.

However, there was no doubt in his mind that he wasn’t seeing things. Latifa had managed to rank up once more. The proof of that was none other than Lala manifesting before him.

It was then that Alex remembered the necklace tied around one of Reverse Latifa’s tails.

The fact that she had eight tails during their battle meant that all of her Alters were merged with her at that time.

Of course, that didn’t necessarily mean that they were dead.

In fact, even now, Latifa’s current Alters could merge with her so that she could fight with full strength.

But for some reason, Alex felt that Latifa’s circumstances were different from Reverse Latifa’s.

In the end, a soft sigh escaped his lips.

He had yet to accumulate enough power to contend with Reverse Alex, let alone confront Reverse Latifa.

Frankly, between Reverse Alex and Reverse Latifa, he believed the latter was stronger if they fought with the intention to kill.

That was how powerful a Rank 8 Latifa was.

She could buff herself and debuff her enemies.

‘If Reverse Latifa had the intention to harm us, all of us combined wouldn’t have stood a chance,’ Alex thought as he gazed at his sleeping lover beside him.

He really didn’t know the circumstances in Reverse Arcana. But the power he gained as a reward allowed him to travel to different worlds.

Alex was certain that if this skill received an upgrade, he would be able to travel to Earth if he wished.

But right now, the only place he could go to directly was Reverse Arcana.

The young man had no intention of going to that world, so he didn’t plan to use this skill anytime soon.

However, he didn’t know that Fate had other plans for him.

For the time being, Alex was unaware that the past of his real identity was starting to catch up to him.

And when that time came, he would be forced to make a choice.

A choice that would change the way he looked at the world, which had been good to him… until that moment arrived.
