Chapter 2142: Soul Gear For Amethyst

Chapter 2142: Soul Gear For Amethyst

-----

"My Soul? That sounds crazy, how could that even work- Woah?!" she was surprised as she just managed to do what I said. "It’s working! My Soul is equipping things!"

"I told you so," I smiled. "Soul Gear is a purely ethereal equipment, they cannot form completely physical forms outside of your soul, so your soul automatically "equips" the Soul Gear pieces by default."

"Amazing! With this I can do anything!" Amethyst smiled confidently, getting cocky again.

"No you can’t," I said, quickly waking her up from her stupid delusions. "You will have to be as careful as before either way. This Soul Gear is nowhere near as good as the one I have made for myself or my family, we’ll upgrade it over time. So get ready, we’ll continue moving. You must plan how to face your foes as well, I don’t want any more reckless charges, understood?"

"Ugh... fineeee..." she groaned, crossing her arms. "You’re always nagging me... so annoying."

"What did you say young lady?" I asked angrily.

"N-Nothing! I said nothing!" she said, walking faster to get away from my fatherly wrath.

We continued our adventure through the Soul Sanctuary without further ado. Reaching the second largest area, we faced alligator-shaped green and blue colored soul crystal beasts. They were quite fierce and had a large lake to swim around, but Amethyst used her magic to catch them from afar without risking her life like before.

I believe she was learning quite quickly, as I quickly stored the corpses and moved on to the next part, finding a forest of crystals, which she was quite amazed about. She ended up eating a few of the trees and their crystal fruits, while I stored a few more for later. I specially took a lot of these mysterious Crystal Soul Fruits, which, after taking a bite, turned out to be actually very sweet, and yet as hard as crystals, a strange combination.

The next series of areas were filled with a variety of creatures, usually of stronger elemental affinities showed in the color of their crystals, such as red crystal soul beasts wielding primarily fire, green wielding winds, blue wielding either ice or water, or both, and brown wielding earth and sand. As we moved deeper, we ultimately started facing stronger, larger ones.

Occasionally, we found chimera-type beasts, fusions of various beasts at once, which were formidable challenges for Amethyst, her Soul Gear was upgraded with each battle, as I gave her a sense of progression which incentivized her to move forward even if she was growing tired.

Thanks to her upgraded Soul Geart, she was able to beat the Chimeras one by one, struggling against the first few, but rapidly becoming better and better against the later... until we finally reached the summit of the mountain after many hours of battling without end. Going deeper would mean going beneath the mountain.

"It’s a good place to camp for now, I bet you’re exhausted."

"I am... ugh..."

"Alright, let me cook something and then we eat, and you’ll rest until tomorrow, where we’ll resume our training."

"How many days will I stay in here? Aren’t you worried about your family?"

"Don’t worry, I am with them right now as well, they’re training in a different way than yours, as they had already come to the Draconic Record Realm to train their Souls before."

"O-Oh, right, you can divide your body, huh?"

"I am not doing that in here though, I am simply present as a Soul Avatar, by imbuing a part of my consciousness into my soul while I visit this place, while I am also in my divine realm."

"Hoh... that’s amazing... Will I be able to do that with my soul?"

"It shouldn’t be too hard by now, tomorrow I’ll teach you several techniques. I guess we can take a break that day while you learn them."

"Eeh? Do we have to?"

"You do! It’ll be the only way for you to beat Umbral; you need to not only get your soul as strong as possible, you need to master the usage of your soul."

"Ugh... okay..."

"Amethyst, just be grateful! Drake is going out of his way to help you so much... You should at least try to be nicer, you know? There’s nobody else in this world that would go so far for you!" Jord suddenly complained to Amethyst over her attitude towards me.

"E-Eh? I mean... I know... Uhh..." Amethyst became flustered, without knowing what to say.

"It’s fine, Jord, I don’t mind her," I laughed. "I quite like her attitude. She’s strong-willed. I like strong-willed people."

"H-Huh?" Amethyst suddenly blushed a little as she looked at me. "W-What does that even mean?! I see, you’re a pervert! Aiming at young female dragons, you’re seriously a degenerate!"

"What?! You’re misunderstanding something!" I complained, as Amethyst suddenly started throwing rocks at me while screaming and acting embarrassed. "Hey stop it! Don’t hurt the cook!"

She really got annoying out of nowhere... I don’t know what she thought about what I said, but I wasn’t flirting with her.

Whatever the case, once the food was done she calmed down and ate everything, reverting to a ten-year-old child or something, because she couldn’t think of anything but food.

"Yeah, yeah, eat everything brat, you’ll need it if you want to beat that monster."

"Don’t call me brat! Nom, nom, nom..."

"Hah, brat."

"Grrr!"

She grabbed one of the empty plates and threw it at my face.

CRASH!

"Hey, what the hell was that?! Where are your manners?! I’m not making any more food for you if you keep behaving like that! And you say you’re older than me when you act like a child?!" I screamed angrily.

"Amethyst! Don’t be rude!" Jord said angrily.

"Uuugghh...! Let me eat in peace," she groaned, taking a huge bite from a large piece of roasted meat. "He started it by calling me a brat... twice!"

"Whatever, this girl is just impossible sometimes," I sighed. "Once you’re done, go to sleep."

"That’s what I plan to do!" she said.
