Chapter 1088: Triss Louher
Chapter 1088: Triss Louher
"You…!" She gritted her teeth in anger. "Don't you know who I am?!"
"Do I need to know who you are to come here and eat?" Rudy asked casually.
"You are being rude."
"You are disturbing me while I am having a meal, and yet… you call me rude?" Rudy raised his brow. "Where are your manners?"
"...!" Triss' anger rose as time passed.
"Do you lack common sense?"
Triss couldn't hold her anger any longer and dashed at Rudy at the speed unable to be comprehended by a normal human.
Rudy was sipping the soup, but the next second, the table was shattered into pieces. And Triss appeared, completely baffled.
She couldn't believe that someone had managed to evade her speed attack while drinking soup. She had fought thousands of monsters and countless battles, and she knew when to strike an opponent.
'That kid clearly wasn't paying attention! How did he see my attack?!' she asked herself with a panicked look on her face.
Although it may have seemed like Triss was attacking Rudy, she wasn't. Her intention was to hit the table from the start, so even if Rudy hadn't dodged the attack, he should have been fine.
Of course, Rudy was aware of that. The only reason he evaded Triss' attack was to show her that he was 'faster' than her.
"Attacking unarmed and innocent civilians is against the law. Is that how a top hero should act?"
The frown from Triss' face vanished when she saw Rudy casually enjoying his soup while sitting on the table far away in the corner.
"So you do know who I am," she uttered.
"Of course. Who wouldn't know the second most beautiful girl in the entire world?" Rudy chuckled. "By the way, I don't consider you the second most beautiful girl. You are not even top 10 on my list, although I haven't met that many girls…. Wait, why did I cast you out of the top 10, then?"
Rudy rubbed the back of his head with a confused look on his face.
'As I am getting more and more aware of the disparity in my memories, my sense of perception is getting all crazy.'
SIGH!
Triss let out a sigh and joined Rudy for the dinner. She clapped her hands and fries appeared in front of her.
"How did you do that?" Rudy asked as he took a few fries from Triss' plate.
Triss watched him eat her fries and nodded. "I get it now. You are intentionally trying to make me angry. What's your goal?"
"Nothing. But I am curious as to why I was disturbed and attacked."
Triss looked at Rudy and squinted her eyes. "Are you asking because you truly aren't aware, or are you simply trying to provoke me more?"
"I don't remember offending anyone. I came here and ate."
Triss stared at Rudy for a few seconds, seemingly trying to get him to admit his wrongdoings. But after realizing Rudy was oblivious to what he had done, she chose to explain herself.
"This restaurant and the surrounding buildings come under a regulation that prohibits the entry of an awakened civilian. Your presence here is considered against the law. You could be punished and your hero license can be suspended for a specific time period."
"Oh, I wasn't aware of that. I won't ask for the reason for such a stupid rule, but you— as the owner of this place— yourself are awakened. Do you consider money as more important?"
"According to the latest statistics, only around 30% of the world's population is awakened. That number will gradually decrease over time and in a few decades, everything will become as how it used to be before the apocalypse began."
Triss sprinkled salt over her fries and began mixing them as she continued speaking.
"I was a businesswoman even before I became awakened. Now that the world is at peace, I am going back to where I was."
Triss Louher was the youngest self-made billionaire at the young age of 21.
"Do you…" Rudy paused for a moment before continuing, "Do you not consider the possibility of another apocalypse?"
"New heroes will be born. History can attest that the newer generation has always been better than the old ones. It just takes time to be perfect."
Rudy drank the last sip of his soup and wiped his lips and hands with the tissue.
"So you are retiring."
After a brief silence, Triss responded, "Yes."
'Hmm~ Well, that's one way to get out of the ongoing fiasco at the hero organization. But I highly doubt the organization will let the retired hero have a peaceful life. She must have a plan to get out of the mess.'
Triss looked at the time and said, "I will have to inform the authorities about this incident. I will try to fill good words about you."
"What if you just say that I am not awakened, but a normal civilian?"
"You ate our entire menu. There is no way a normal civilian can do that!"
"You are free to do what you want to do. I will disappear as soon as you let me out of your sight. The officials will spend their entire life looking for me, but they will never be able to find me."
"That's where I, the fastest person in the world, will step in. I am legally obliged to help the officials. It's nothing personal. There are rules and regulations everywhere and I have to follow them to run my business. Even if you are innocent here, you can't expect me to take a bullet for you." Triss shrugged her shoulders with a composed look on her face.
"I have already proved that I am faster than you."
"You…!"
"It's true."
"There is no one who can beat me in terms of speed and strength! I am the fastest and the strongest hero!"
Triss Louher was indeed the fastest and the strongest hero, except for Rudy. The only reason she was the fifth ranking hero was because she didn't have any other skill except speed and strength.
She couldn't use magic. She was the fastest and strongest when it came to raw power.
"I can beat you… no, I will beat you. If I do, give me what I want."
Curious, Triss couldn't help but ask, "What do you want?"
Rudy looked into Triss' eyes with a serious look on his face and said, "If I beat you… let me fuck you."
