Chapter 3143 A Request

Chapter 3143 A Request

Xuan Qukuang was rather curious upon hearing that Alex did immediately have something to ask. It was more than just the request itself that she was curious about, but also more so what sort of

request he would want to make now that they had gained a level of familiarity with each other.

Would he exploit it right away? Or would he still have some reservations?

"If it is at all possible, I would like to see the ancestral bloodline pool your family has," Alex said.

All thoughts the matriarch could've had beforehand vanished right away when she heard that. Such a request was so far from norm that she had to spend a few seconds to be sure that he was serious in the first place.

Her eyes narrowed. "You want to see our... bloodline pool?" she asked.

"Yes," Alex said, before pausing for a moment. "You do have it, don't you? I'm actually not sure if all the heavenly beasts have one or not. I only know that the White Tigers and the Azure Dragons have one."

"No, we do all have it," she confirmed.

"Ah! That's good. That is my request," Alex said. "But then again, I don't know much of the norm surrounding beast families and maybe I can't visit your bloodline pool. If I can't, I would at least like to ask for general information on how they work in the first place. If you still can't do that, then that's fine as well. I will just ask the White Tiger patriarch later on."

The Black Tortoise matriarch watched Alex for a long moment, trying to discern how she felt about his request.

The request itself was so absurd that it went beyond just exploiting their newfound friendship. It would be no different than meeting with a sect master for the first time and asking them what treasures they

had hidden away in their secret treasury.

It was more than just absurd. It was daring.

And somehow, it still worked. Well, at least it didn't make her angry.

"Before I decide on anything, let me first ask why you want to visit our ancestral pool," she asked. "As you said yourself, it's not a place just anyone is allowed to visit."

Alex hesitated for a moment, wondering how much of the truth he should be speaking here, but considering that he was asking for something so big, he should at least try and prove that he did in fact need it.

Alex pointed to the side, far in the distance where Pearl remained hidden inside a formation, cultivating.

"Can you see him there? The White Tiger," Alex asked.

The woman turned for a moment and nodded. "You mean the one born of the tigers and dragons, do you not?" she asked. "His news has reached me. You two are friends, I believe."

"More than friends," Alex explained. "We're brothers, bonded together."

The matriarch's eyes widened slightly. "Bonded?" she asked. "No, that shouldn't be possible. No human can bond a Heavenly beast when their bloodline is so strong."

"I can," Alex said. "That's another evidence in the ever-growing proof that I have the capacity to become the Sun God. I'm bonded to a Vermilion Bird too, but that's beside the point."

The matriarch stared at him with no minor hints of awe. "And you call him your brother?"

"We formed the bond when I was 18. We've been together since then. He's family, so yes, he's my brother," Alex said. "But let's skip past that. He's born of two families, but he only carries the bloodline of one. His Azure Dragon bloodline was sacrificed in the past in order to save

him. Otherwise, he would've had both bloodlines."

The matriarch was clearly surprised now. The reports had mentioned him having one bloodline stronger than the other, but she had never expected that he was born with both bloodlines.

"So, what point are you getting to?" she asked.

Alex's body grew straighter, a determined look appearing on his face. "I'm going to return him his Azure Dragon bloodline."

The Black Tortoise matriarch spent a long few seconds trying to grasp the severity of what Alex had just said.

"What?" she asked after a long time, her words laced with shock. "That's not possible. His bloodline is too weak. If he enters the ancestral pool as he is, he will undoubtedly die."

"I know," Alex said. "That's why I never plan on sending him there. Instead, I am going to help him improve his bloodline all on my own."

The woman stared at him. "How can you- the blood. You've been gathering Azure Dragon blood all this time. Is that what you've been doing? Preparing for this?"

"Yes," Alex said. "And I'm close. I'm very close. I... I just need some more knowledge. Some inspiration even. I can give him the blood, but if I don't change his soul somehow, it won't help with his evolution. I need to understand how it is that the ancestral pool helps improve

their soul."

Desperation filled Alex's voice as he said his words. He had come so close, his bloodline transfer technique being able to help with everything else. However, the final hurdle was a giant cliff that he could not oversee himself jumping past.

There was not a single idea in his head as to how he could possibly help alter Pearl's soul in exactly the same way as an Azure Dragon's would. Try as he might, even studying the Azure Dragons and their soul itself hadn't revealed that truth to Alex just yet.

Xuan Qukuang didn't say anything right away. A look of deep thought crossed her face as she considered what Alex said for a long time. "How confident are you that you can improve someone's bloodline itself?" she asked. "Not the soul, just the blood."

Alex looked up. "I can't say much for now, but I have definitely learned how to concentrate the bloodline for any given blood. And one thing I've confirmed from the dragons is that the stronger the bloodline is, the more concentrated it is inside of their blood."
