Chapter 3144 Upcoming Test

Chapter 3144 Upcoming Test

"So, what you're saying is that you've managed to locate the physical manifestations of bloodline in one's blood, is that it?" the Black

Tortoise Matriarch asked.

Alex thought for a moment and nodded. "That is the gist of it."

"So, if I were to ask you to do the same for a Black Tortoise, could you do it?" she asked.

"Concentrate the bloodline? Yes. That's the easiest part," Alex said. "It's the soul that's the hard part."

The woman's eyes glinted with ideas. "How about this? Whether your idea of concentrating bloodline works or not, I want to put it to the test. Should it work, I will allow you to take a glance at how the ancestral pool works."

"And if it doesn't?"

The woman shrugged. "Then you save your brother from a whole heap of pain and death, don't you?" she asked. "Sounds like a win-win to me."

Alex considered that for a moment and nodded. At the very least, it did make sense.

"So you wish to test my idea," Alex said.

"Yes, but not right away. I will need to make some preparations first. That should take a few years. I'm sure you want to improve yourself at that time. Continue what you're doing and I'll come back to get you when you're all ready. Is that fine?"

Alex felt a deep happiness swell inside of him. He had a chance.

"Yes, matriarch. I'll wait with patience."

The woman nodded. "If that's all, then I'll return now. Make sure you are up to the task by the time I come. Do not get yourself killed."

"I couldn't even if I tried," Alex said with a wide smile. "Thank you, senior."

The woman gave a curt nod and in the next instance, her body vanished from the spot, having moved who knew how much distance in that instant.

Alex stood where he was for a long time, feeling the happiness spread from within him. It was really happening. He was going to see the ancestral pool.

There were only 4 such pools in the entire Land of the Blessed Sun. Alex could never ask the Azure Dragons as it was obvious they wouldn't help him.

He didn't feel right asking the Vermilion Bird Matriarch, especially because she mentioned entering closed cultivation after he had left.

And the White Tiger patriarch had more eyes on him than he would dare mention to others.

Any wrong move could get him pushed out of his seat, and someone else would become the patriarch. That beast couldn't even help Pearl, so the chances of him helping him-at least until he became the real Sun God-was absolutely nil.

'I'm lucky I got to meet her, Alex thought. 'I can visit the pool soon!

Soon was still years away, so Alex had plenty of time. Considering the time frame Celestials worked on, 'soon' could very well mean decades later.

'God, I hope that's not true,' Alex thought. 'Let it be no more than a decade!

He flew away from the hilltop, arriving back at the other hill where the dragons had been watching them. A strange look covered their faces the entire time, as though they had something to say, but they just couldn't find the words to speak.

"What?" Alex asked.

"That... was that really her?" Qing Fuojia asked.

"The Black Tortoise Matriarch!" Qing Yangxi said in a shocked

expression.

The others were similarly shocked all the way through.

"You... heard all of that?" Alex asked, worried that they may have

learned more than he wanted to. He should have known he was being

watched.

"Just the part about the fish in water and her name," one of the dragons said. "Was it really her?"

Alex looked at the dragon that spoke and saw no lies from what he could tell. If they had heard the rest, then they would know what he was purchasing all of their blood for.

"Yes, that was her," Alex said. "I only got the confirmation today as

well."

"How do you know her?"

"Why did she come fight you all the time?"

"Who are you exactly? Are you a Black Tortoise?"

"Your eyes aren't black though."

They barraged him with questions one after another, questions he

could not answer truthfully.

"My master is a human Celestial," Alex said in the end. "She wanted to

talk to me to learn more about my master."

A round of gasps sounded from the dragons.

"You are so strong, and you're still bonded to a human?" one of the

dragons asked.

"His master is a Celestial, so it makes sense," another one said.

Alex paused for a long moment. "What? No! My master, like my teacher. She teaches me the way of the sword."

"Oh! That 'master""

Alex gave a bewildered look. "Why would you consider any other type

of master?"

"Well, she is a human, so it's understandable," one of them said.

"How is that understandable? You do realize we don't go around bonding our own kind, do you?" Alex asked.

"That's why we said-wait, your own kind?" one of them asked.

"Yeah, us humans," Alex said, looking around.

The dragons gave a long blank stare. "You're... a human?"

Alex stared at them with a face that said he couldn't believe what was

happening. "Did you really think I was a beast this entire time? It's been 3 years, and you haven't seen me transform once."

"Neither has the hybrid, and you call him your brother," one of them said. "Wait, why is he your brother? You're not a White Tiger."

"Because we're bonded."

That brought up another round of surprise and questions. By the end

of it all, the dragons were very much shocked to find that they had been at the mercy of a human all this time. And Alex realized that all this time, he had been considered nothing more than a big bad beast. He shook his head in the end, letting them be by themselves, and

went on to find a quiet place where he could improve his bloodline transfer skill. He needed to be ready for when he saw the matriarch

next.
