Chapter 3155 Two Bloodlines
Chapter 3155 Two Bloodlines
Alex began studying the blood that was provided to him at a later time. It was difficult at first as everything that was before him was foreign to him. Each bloodline contained so many bloodline elements that it became hard to differentiate which ones were the ones he
needed and which ones he didn't.
The Black Tortoise's bloodline was far more confusing than the Azure Dragon's bloodline was, to the point that Alex began wondering if he could even go anywhere without some help.
The confusion continued for some time before he realized something very important.
The Black Tortoises had two entirely different bloodlines.
The understanding came as a shock to Alex. He asked both Xuan Luhei if that was true, but the two seemed confused by his finding. They couldn't understand how that could possibly be the case.
But Alex could see that was indeed the case.
"It's entirely different," Alex said, turning toward the two. "The snake's bloodline and the tortoise's bloodline are completely dissimilar."
"That can't be true," the snake said. "Our bloodline has to be similar. We are the exact same, including the techniques we get, except for our spirit roots."
"Your techniques may function the same, but they are inherently different. Just the fact that one uses Earth element and the other uses Water element determines that they are different. Not to mention, you are physically different too. One of you is a tortoise and the other one is a snake."
The tortoise stared at him with wide eyes. "But... we're brothers. We're connected. How can our bloodline be different when we're both Black Tortoise?"
"You are connected," Alex said. "And that's what makes you a Black Tortoise, but the bloodline itself is divided into two halves. And each one of you only contains the other half. I don't suppose either of you has a regular Earth or Water root along with your Supreme roots, do you?"
Both the beasts shook their heads.
"That more or less confirms it then. I will need to treat the two of you like different beasts for the time being. I don't know how that will play out when it comes to the connection you two have, but if it's something that even the ancestral pool fails to form sometimes, then I shouldn't be all too worried."
Alex continued studying, learning both the bloodlines at the same time.
It wasn't entirely right to say that the two beasts had completely different bloodlines. They shared some parts with each other, albeit not that much, which was still high compared to the near zero that most random beasts tended to share.
"They do descend from different Primordials too, Alex thought. 'The tortoise descends from the Dragon Turtle and the Yellow Dragon, while the snake descends from the Flood Dragon and the Flying Raindragon. The progenitors also shared no similarities in their bloodline until the Sun God made them similar!
That knowledge helped Alex understand the rest of his research a lot better.
The progenitors of the Black Tortoises were two beasts whose real names were lost to time, now referred only to by the name they gained after receiving their bloodline.
Xuan Heichen.
The snake half of Xuan Heichen sired three pairs of Black Tortoises, while the tortoise half sired two. That immediately gave the next generation five pairs of Black Tortoises to work with.
'Five pairs of bloodline, Alex thought as he understood just how much he would have to scour. He read the talisman that was provided to
him, which recorded which family line the blood came from.
Once he understood them better, he would be able to develop a much better comprehension of what the bloodline was.
Alex lost himself in work, searching through the bloodline. He regularly used the two beasts that were with him to better
understand the bloodline of either side.
Alex's focus was on the snake's bloodline, studying it with more care as it would be the one he would have to work on first. It took a lot of time before he could confidently say that he had understood everything he needed to about the snake's half of the bloodline.
Alex continued studying for some more time, just to make sure he wasn't jumping into things without making certain everything was in order, but he hadn't a reason to worry.
He had done every bit of research he needed to and was ready to
proceed.
It hadn't even been an entire month when Alex had learned everything. So now, all that was left was to concentrate the bloodline and feed it to Xuan Luhei.
So, Alex began concentrating the snake bloodline. He had been provided enough blood to fill up a small lake, and from that, Alex used his yet-to-fully-form bloodline transfer technique to teleport all the important bloodline elements from one pool of blood to another.
It was only after another month that Alex was finally done with all of the snake blood.
Once he was done, he rested for some time, cultivating to get back all the Qi he had lost in the past two months, and then called over Xuan
Lingkai.
The female tortoise arrived a few minutes later and walked in through the door on the floor. She looked at Alex with a strange expression on
her face. "It's only been two months, are you sure you're done?"
"For the first test, yes," Alex said, bringing out a large spatial vial. "Once we give it to senior Luhei here, we can test how things will
work out."
Lingkai nodded. "If you're confident, then we can start soon. I'll have to let the Matriarchs know of this first."
She brought out a talisman and sent over a quick message.
"Is that okay? We can disturb them after the results are out," Alex said.
"No, they will be watching over the entire process themselves. Should something go wrong, they alone will have the power to sort things out," Lingkai said, and Alex had to agree to that assessment. He turned toward the other two. "You two should get prepared as well. It's all experimental from here on forward."
