Chapter 3181 Soul Confluence

Chapter 3181 Soul Confluence

Alex wished in the period of silence that followed that he was the Sun God. If he had been the Sun God, this thing would've been so easy. The two beasts would've likely not been as difficult to talk to.

The living patriarchs very much respected the fact that he even had a chance that he could become the Sun God. But despite knowing that, the Progenitors had an entirely different interaction.

He knew they respected the Sun God. That much was obvious by the fact that they let him stay and talked to him. But beyond that, there was no special treatment, so Alex had to get the answers out of them through his own merit.

Being the Sun God would've made things so easy. But he wasn't, so this was the only way.

Either he would get his answers, or he would die.

'Surely they don't have enough strength to kill me, right?' Alex thought. "They have to conserve their energy after all. They won't spend it on-

A force sent Alex crashing into the obsidian wall before he could even blink his eyes. The crystalline wall shattered, and Alex remained embedded onto the wall. He blinked a few times, only then realizing what had happened.

He lifted himself out of the wall and fell onto the ground. He quickly examined himself, understanding only then that he was blasted away by the force of an Intent on him.

The force he was flung with was strong, but it was not at the level that could hurt him. However, if he had been just a regular Immortal Transcendent 1st realm cultivator, his situation might've been dire.

"My apologies," the tortoise spoke almost immediately. "My brother struggles to keep his aggression under control. Although, your words were quite rude."

Alex said nothing and approached the pool once more. Once he arrived, he finally spoke again. "If your anger has passed, senior, then I await your answer."

The snake said nothing.

Alex wondered how many of these silences were the result of the two beasts conversing among themselves, completely ignoring his presence. He could imagine them quarreling right now, one saying how they were disrespected, and the other trying to calm him down.

After some time passed, the tortoise spoke again.

"We force the soul of the evolving beasts to change."

Before Alex could say anything to that vague statement, the tortoise continued, elaborating further.

"The soul is the most difficult aspect of a beast's evolution. There is no method just yet to help their soul change as well as the beast does. As such, we have to push their soul to a point where it is in itself willing to change."

"By starting weak and rapidly increasing the amount of bloodline they improve each session as you saw, we force the body to change at such a pace that the soul cannot keep up. It tries to, becoming more flexible each session. The more you can keep going without the risk of the beast's immediate death, the more flexible the soul will become."

"Once it's as flexible as it can be, the soul can finally be pushed to make the change. And that's another matter entirely."

Alex listened intently now that the beast had begun answering his question.

"The first part is important, as the soul needs to be flexible. However, the second part is equally important as well."

"Just like the beast could not have improved its bloodline without gaining external bloodline, their soul cannot improve without gaining external aid from another soul as well."

The snake took over. "That is where we come in."

Alex turned toward the other statue, now focusing his attention on it.

"The technique we use is something that we continue to use from the time of the beasts. Before humans, the beasts had reached heights one couldn't imagine. Our forefathers, the ancestral Primordials, had developed a technique to help with improving a beast's bloodline, which is what we use."

"It is a technique each and every beast inherently knows in the depths of their core. If there is someone who contains your bloodline, but their soul does not match, you can use your soul to guide their soul to improve toward what you are."

Alex narrowed his eyes. "A form of Soul Resonance?"

"Something similar," the tortoise said. "Soul Resonance only occurs between clones. Soul Confluence is what the beasts have. We use our soul as the guideline and use our Divine sense to guide the soul of the evolving beast to come closer toward us. Since the bloodline they are attempting to reach is our own, it becomes very simple."

"That's it," the snake said. "That's what you came here for. If you want the young tiger to gain the Azure Dragon's bloodline, you will need Qing Tailong to help guide his soul toward his own, but because the difference is so vast, it likely won't work. The young beast will likely die if you were to try this."

Alex frowned. He did not like that idea at all. He bit his thumb, trying to think of some possibilities. His mind raced with ideas until he came to think of one thing.

"In the lower realm, was there another White Tiger soul that helped him evolve?" Alex asked.

"There most likely was," the tortoise said. "Our descendants are aware of what we have done for the sake of continuing the family's bloodline. Without us, they would have been rendered to nothing a long time ago."

Alex nodded slowly. He had more or less come to the understanding

of what it was that the matriarch had meant some days ago.

The Progenitors had given their lives for the sake of their descendants. They had stuck their souls into these statues to help their descendants improve their bloodline. Thousands of Black

Tortoises existed because of them.

None of that mattered to Alex in that moment, as he had latched onto

one point from a long time ago.

"How strong must the beast be to change someone else's soul?"
