Chapter 3299 Seal
Chapter 3299 Seal
Alex could tell instinctively that there was something different about Whisker's Undying Physique technique than his own. It wasn't the overall result that he would gain from the technique, but rather how he would go about gaining the result.
Since his initial thought in choosing to help Whisker had been due to his lack of ability to cultivate all on his own, that fact had been the crutch in him creating this new technique. So when the energy accepted his will and did as he wanted, it was possible that the technique could only ever work on Whisker himself.
Unlike his own technique that could be passed along, Whisker was likely going to be the only one to ever hold that specific version of the Undying Physique.
That mattered little right now, so Alex pulled his attention away. There was still a chunk of energy outside that continued flowing into him, settling in his Dantian once again.
It was about enough energy for him to give someone else the Undying Physique, or perhaps something else if anything else came to his mind in time. Unfortunately, Alex couldn't dare accept this energy
anymore.
The moment it all entered him, the Sun God would be reborn in his Creations, and that was just not acceptable. So, using what little energy he had gathered, Alex did the thing he had wanted to from the start.
He sealed the Sun God.
The energy used to seal the Sun God was a pitiful amount, not even a tenth of what he had used to give Whisker his technique. And yet, it worked perfectly.
Since the power itself was the Sun God, in a way, the Sun God was just as pitifully weak as well. So, the little amount of energy he did
have was more than enough.
Strings of light formed around the Sun God in his Spiritual Sea, the strings forming matrices that began covering the cracked egg.
The Sun God said nothing while Alex sealed him away, either because he was far too weak to speak or because he saw no point in saying anything. He simply watched as the veil of light covered him entirely, sealing him away.
Alex breathed a sigh of relief the moment the Sun God was fully sealed. At the same time, he noticed that the energy that had been flowing into him was now trickling into him.
Only a small portion entered within him, while the bigger portion simply dissipated away. Alex tried to absorb it all in, but it was as if the energy was no longer linked to him, so he could not control it.
With the Sun God sealed away, Alex wondered if he had sealed away the link that formed between him and the Sun God as well.
Alex looked a little down. The amount of energy that had trickled in was nowhere near enough for him to do anything with it. As such, he left it be. If some emergency did occur in the future, then he would use it.
With that worry pushed away from his mind, Alex sat back down on the ground, his eyes closed once again. He continued his cultivation, returning to stability. As he cultivated, he realized that he wasn't fully sure if he had succeeded or not.
It was very well possible that the remaining energy would flood back into him the moment he stopped cultivating, and it would all be for naught. The Sun God would be reborn in that moment and he would die.
Thinking as much, Alex brought out the people within his Soul Space.
Pearl and Scarlet flew out onto the dirt ground, along with the older Alex and Emily, as well as both Midnight and Memory. If something did happen to him, he wanted these people to know what it was.
"Finally!" Scarlet said in surprise. "I was worried when you stopped contacting us."
"Is this the grave, brother?" Pearl asked, looking around.
The two humans were completely surprised by the sort of location they found themselves in and couldn't help but stare all around. Whisker rushed up the mountain, meeting with the group. Scarlet and Pearl were happy to see Whisker. They had learned he was safe, but they had finally met him after they had teleported to the Sun's Talon realm.
Before they could get distracted, however, Alex spoke up, detailing the situation.
"The Sun God tried to take over me," he told them. "If he succeeds, I will be dead forever. I am only alive thanks to my Unity, but I don't
know if it can last."
Pearl's eyes widened suddenly. "What?!"
Whisker panicked. "Brother, what are you-"
"Listen to me carefully," Alex said. "I have sealed the Sun God away. But that in no way guarantees that I have succeeded. I'm going to stop my cultivation now, and I will find out the truth soon. But... in case I have failed, I want you all to know that I love you all. Tell everyone else I love them too."
Alex's words were like a hammer to their skulls, completely wrecking them in that moment. Not a single one of them had realized how close
to dying he had been.
Before anyone else could say anything, Alex closed his eyes and
stopped cultivating.
Whisker watched with bated breath as the Qi surrounding Alex
stopped flowing toward him. At the same time, the other two felt their bond with Alex. There was no change within the bond, but that had been the case from the start.
They hadn't been able to tell if anything had happened to Alex at all.
And still, they could not.
Seeing Alex's eyes remain closed, they began to worry.
"Brother?" Pearl called out in a soft voice, moving a step closer.
As if responding to Pearl's words, Alex's eyes slowly opened. They
were dull at first before life sprang back into them. Slowly, a smile formed on his lips as he looked at them with a slightly embarrassed
look.
"Well... I might have been a little melodramatic about it."
