Chapter 3316 Yang Heat
Chapter 3316 Yang Heat
It wasn't long before Pearl settled in the courtyard and was free enough to go through the various items he had received.
One of those items was a copy of the Provenance Duality: Evolution technique, which Alex had asked him to try and learn as soon as he could.
The haste was more so to check if it could work or not, rather than to actually learn it.
Pearl sat alone in his room and read through the technique. The technique was so incredible that he almost wanted to eat a Second-Chance pill to redo his cultivation in order to learn it.
However, as he read it all, he slowly understood a limitation of the technique before he even started using it.
The technique could only evolve something so much. If something was already its greatest version, then evolution couldn't happen.
In Pearl's case, if his Blood Essence was from a weaker White Tiger, then maybe the technique would help it become stronger. But because it was as strong as the Progenitor's blood essence, this technique would not help.
In the case of his second Creation, Godkiller's Physique, because the aura he was absorbing belonged to Bai Jingshen and not the actual Godkiller, the highest version it could reach was Bai Jingshen's physique, and not the original one.
In the case of his third Creation, the Guardian Tiger, this would come in handy if he failed to convert the entire Guardian Tiger as the Creation and only ended up with the arm, for example. If not, then once again, this would be useless.
In the final case of the Flying Raindragon's beast core, the way a beast core functioned as someone's Creation made it pretty much impossible to fail forming the Creation, and there was no way to
evolve it.
Going through his four Creations, Pearl came to the realization that the technique was useless to anyone who was either talented enough to absorb the greatest version of the Creation's aura available, or when the Creation itself had no variation.
On the small chance that Pearl did completely misunderstand the technique, he attempted to learn it. However, from the intense mental pain that came when using it and the way his Origin threatened to blow itself up should he continue, it was apparent that this technique was not meant to be learned by anyone in the Immortal Transcendent realm.
Which made sense.
The Origin could only be affected when it was still swirling around with energy, malleable with any technique that came toward it. When it finally firmed up was when someone was ready to break through to the Immortal Transcendent realm. As such, this was an impossible task for him.
After confirming at least three times that it was impossible for him to learn the technique, Pearl finally gave up on it and moved on to other things.
The Blood Essence, the beast core, and the Guardian Tiger's arms were things he could absorb whenever he wanted to. The only thing that he needed to worry about was Godslayer's physique.
So, in order to absorb that, Pearl began his daily session with Bai Jingshen.
Considering Alex had told him that it would take him a decade before he left this realm, he had that much time to absorb everything he could from Bai Jingshen.
In a decade's time, he wanted to have one of his Origins filled completely.
As time went on, Alex found it easier and easier to understand the intricacies of Yang Heat. It was one of the few types of combination daos, where it was both a part of the Dao of Fire and the Dao of Yang. Having known both daos helped Alex immensely in cutting down the amount of time required to learn this one.
The Grand Tranquility Pill had stopped affecting him some time ago, and his mind felt a lot duller than before, but still, Alex had understood enough that the remaining portions were not that difficult.
Slowly, he solved through one mystery after another, tearing down the layers of veils behind which the dao hid itself. With every layer he stripped away, the dao became clearer and clearer.
And once it became abundantly clear, with no more than a few layers remaining, the heavens arrived to give him the final push.
Instead of peeling back those layers, the heavens tore through them, showing him the dao.
The worldly laws descended upon Alex even in the middle of the Talon, where lava and smog covered everything.
Alex closed his eyes, calmly taking in the new information he was provided. Once he was done, the worldly laws disappeared back into the heavens, leaving behind Alex with clear and lucid eyes.
He had learned yet another dao.
The Dao of Yang Heat.
Despite having a body that aligned so well with Yang aura, this was
only the second Yang Dao he had learned.
Yang and Yin were far more complex than the regular elements and daos, thus learning them was also equally difficult. Alex would be very much surprised if there was another person out there who had learned more than two Yang Daos that hadn't spent his entire life doing so.
Alex played around with the Dao of Yang Heat, feeling how much more oppressive it was than regular heat. He began wondering if he could perhaps add it to his True Immolation Strike, but that would have to wait for some time later when he was free.
For now, he had to try and see how much he could learn from the Sun Fire before him.
Having learned the Yang Heat dao, the Sun Fire suddenly became so much easier to understand. He was no longer trudging through his understanding of the flame, but rather swiftly moving through it. It might not even take him a decade to learn it completely at the rate he was going. Far less if he used the Grand Tranquility Pill. Unfortunately, he didn't have that sort of time, as he also now had to start working toward the Void and the Heavenly Clouds.
