Chapter 3371 The Second Scar

Chapter 3371 The Second Scar

"Did you notice how all of their servants are beasts with Qilin bloodlines in them?" Alex asked Bai Jingshen once they were done with the tour and were shown the rooms they would be resting in.

Bai Jingshen nodded. "It's also not just beasts with Qilin bloodlines. It's ones that look like a Qilin too. Deer-like body, snake-like tail; I

wouldn't be surprised if they really were slaves."

"But why?" Pearl couldn't help but ask. "Are these the members of the old royal family?"

"Unlikely," Alex said. "It's more of a show of power, most likely. They want the world to know that they defeated the original Rulers of the Second Scar, and this is their proof."

Bai Jingshen nodded. "It is also possible that these beasts were dissidents when the monkeys took over," he said. "They might have done some sort of protest or went against the monkeys after the old rule was overthrown, so they were all captured and put to slaving away for the monkeys."

Alex grimaced slightly. "I don't like that in the slightest."

"Me either," Bai Jingshen said.

Alex thought for a long moment, remembering something someone had said while in conversation with Wu Tanglan back in the trial.

"I think Scarlet mentioned something about not everyone acknowledging the rule of these monkeys," he said. "She also mentioned something about a prophecy that claimed the old family would return. Maybe these beasts were enslaved so that the chances of the old family coming back to power would be low."

Bai Jingshen scoffed a little. "It would've been better to kill every descendant if you were that afraid," he said. "But maybe it's not fear. Maybe this is a way of mocking the prophecy and how absurd it really

is."

Alex shrugged. "Maybe."

There wasn't much else to do, so the group rested for a few hours. After some time, the Celestials came again, trying to start another long conversation. Alex indulged, but he quickly realized that this wasn't just a regular conversation. These beasts were trying to manipulate him into helping out their families when Alex did finally regain the full power of the Sun God.

Alex had absolutely no plan on helping them strengthen their rule, so he only gave some vague promises to help out where he could. Anything less than that would tell the monkeys that he had caught on to their manipulation, and any more wouldn't sit right with his own heart, as he didn't like outright lying when he promised something. The monkeys also wanted to learn more about Alex, where he had come from, where he was born. Alex answered them as truthfully as he could, without giving them the actual names of the places he had been to.

He told them that he was born in a lower realm with the Sun God's body and slowly developed it with time. He arrived at the Immortal realm once he became an Immortal, and from there, one thing led to another, which brought him to the Sun's Talon realm, where the trial awaited him.

Irontail and Peachbone were fascinated by how everything seemed to line up so properly. From the start, it seemed predetermined that Alex would become the Sun God. They saw this more as a fulfillment of prophecy than anything else.

Not a single one of them could ever understand how coincidental the entire thing was.

The gods didn't help them get where they were. They simply waited for someone to get to a place first before telling them where to go next. Had Alex never pushed his Celestial grade body to its maximum back in Hell, the Sun God would've never shown himself to Alex to tell him to head to the Sun's Talon realm.

The conversation ran long, going for over a day. At this point, there was less than a day remaining before the teleportation formation was to be ready. So, Alex and the rest made excuses to prepare before they left.

Alex wanted to visit the Second Scar before he was gone, so the Celestials obliged. After a few hours, they were ready to leave.

Alex's stay in the Whitehead Monkey's palace was a short one, shorter than any other stays he remembered. He should've stayed much longer, but he just didn't want to, and the excuse was valid enough that the monkeys couldn't complain either.

After an hour or so, they were on a Divine grade ship, flying to the west where the Second Scar lay.

One could see the Second Scar from far away, as it was another massive sea that lay in the middle of the continent. Even as they approached, it seemed to take just as long to get there.

Half an hour after they thought they had arrived, they finally arrived at the Second Scar sea.

Alex could sense the same strange energy coming from the sea as he had with the First Scar sea. He had come to guess what it was by now, and Ray had confirmed his thoughts after sensing the water that Ashenfog had given him.

The energy he sensed around the lake was the energy that came from what used to be the corpse of the Flood Dragon and Qilin in either of those seas. Just like the Flying Raindragon and the Midnight Phoenix, the two Primordials of this realm had also abandoned their physical bodies, turning it all back into energy.

Ray had guessed that it was the sudden conversion that was likely what had caused the massive gouge in the land that created the sea. As for why they had done that, he could not tell.

"Our death was guaranteed without God Qi, but that didn't mean that we had to kill ourselves so violently," Ray said. "I cannot fathom what

my two brethren had thought of when they decided this."

If a primordial didn't have any idea, then it was unlikely Alex could

ever land upon the answer himself.

But he did wonder if it was for the sake of the beasts living in this

realm.

Did they perhaps wish to give them the energy that was needed for their survival as quickly as they could?
