Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3524 Information from the Talisman

Chapter 3524 Information from the Talisman

"An elder fell for you?" Alex asked, quite surprised.

Xue Yu'er let out a deep sigh. "Yes. And he wasn't just any elder, but one of the big ones working in the contribution halls. I had to see him every time I needed to perform a mission," she said.

Alex nodded slowly. He could understand her frustration.

"At first, nothing really happened. I merely ignored his advances and tried to hint that I didn't want to get together with him. However, after enough was enough, I told him I would never get together with him even if it was a matter of life and death. That was when my life became hell."

"I had sworn an oath, so I couldn't leave the sect so easily. As a new Immortal, it was impossible for me to gather 1000 Divine spirit stones, so all I could do was stay in my own courtyard and diligently cultivate. However, with my lack of contribution points, I got only the worst courtyards, and my cultivation speed fell quite sharply."

Alex wondered what he could have done in her situation. He had enough talent to make his way out of such a situation, but if he was in her spot, he would likely have suffered the same.

"Did the other elders not listen to your complaints?" Alex asked.

"They did, but there was nothing they could do," Xue Yu'er said. "After all, the only thing he had done openly was confessing his feelings for me. Everything else was within the realm of reasonable doubt. Still, I'm sure the other elders knew. They just didn't care about an outer disciple."

"As time went on, other disciples started targeting me openly, disturbing my missions, or just harassing me verbally. I could do nothing but try to continue my life in the sect as peacefully as I could."

"That continued for many, many years. Centuries and then millennia.

Finally, after 3 and a half thousand years of ascending, I reached the Immortal Origin realm. That was my first major step in making it out of that sect."

She looked away, as if thinking of the past. "At Immortal Origin realms, disciples of the sect were finally allowed to take missions outside of the sect. Since that meant I could get out there, I took it immediately." "I would be out of the sect for months at a time, staying no more than the minimum amount of time one had to before taking the next mission. I was finally free from the harassment. Or so I thought," she said, her eyes narrowing. "A woman joined my mission, whom I didn't suspect at first. We completed the mission normally, and I even became friends with her. However, on the way back, she attacked me."

Alex raised an eyebrow. "I don't suppose I have to ask about the outcome."

Xue Yu'er chuckled. "That bitch underestimated me, just like everyone does. After all, who expects the woman that's being harassed for her entire life in the sect to possess a Battle Power of 4, right?"

Alex nodded. "You killed her?"

"I'm not cruel, but I'm not kind either. She attacked me, so I killed her. I had to dispose of her body, and as I did, I finally remembered the technique."

"Since she was dead anyway, she had no use for her spirit root. It also happened to be an Earth spirit root, which was quite useful for me, so I took it," she said.

Alex narrowed his eyes a little. "Why was an Earth spirit root useful for you?" he asked.

The woman shrugged. "That's what the talisman said. Because I had strong Water, Yin, and Wood roots previously, I needed an Earth spirit root that wasn't too strong so it wouldn't ruin my cultivation speed." "What talisman?" Alex asked.

"The one where it was all recorded," she said.

Alex frowned. "Nothing such was ever written in the talisman I got."

The woman paused for a moment. "Was what you showed me all you got?" she asked.

Alex nodded.

"That's incomplete though," she said. "What you have is just an explanation of how to do the transfer. There's an entirely different bundle of information that speaks on the collection of spirit roots and what order they should be gained in, based on what you have."

Alex's mouth fell wide open. He hadn't the faintest clue there was such a thing. "And Earth spirit roots were what you needed at that time?"

She nodded. "It had to be a weak Earth or Metal root so it wouldn't weaken the Water and Yin roots too much. It would've been better if it was Metal first, but Earth wasn't a bad one either. It just had to be before Fire and Yang, since those were the antithesis to my original roots."

Alex nodded slowly, learning a great deal in that moment even though she hadn't said much.

"Please, continue."

The woman shrugged. "There's not much else to say. Once I got the spirit roots, I cultivated and found my cultivation speed to grow faster. Nothing else was noticeably improved, but I could tell there

were positive changes."

"So, I looked forward to getting more spirit roots. Nothing much came of my wants for another few thousand years. And then, the sect I was in succumbed to infighting. The sect master died, and two elders' factions went to war to decide who had the opportunity to become the next sect master."

"The battle lasted no more than 2 days, but many died in that time. It

gave me the perfect opportunity to harvest the spirit roots I needed, and I gained the other 3."

"Luckily, the abhorrent elder also died during that time, so I now had all 7 roots and a free path to success. I grafted the spirit roots onto myself, and that improved my cultivation speed by another level. Not only that, I ended up with a higher Battle Power than what I initially

had."

"Then, around the time I heard of the gods setting up the new tournament, I had made it high into the ranks and thus was finally able to leave the sect."
