Chapter 3534 Going Home
Chapter 3534 Going Home
The time for departure had come once again.
Alex stood outside the Beast God's palace with Bladedance by his side.
The Beast God and her people stood before them, all ready to say their goodbyes.
"You have helped me a great deal these past few decades, Soulmother. I shall repay you once I return to my people in a few years' time," Bladedance said.
"There's no need for it, senior," the Beast God said quickly, bowing. "It was an honor to host you and your disciple."
She then faced Alex. "I wish you luck in your journey, young man. May everything you do bear countless fruits."
"Thank you, senior."
Alex bowed deeply. He looked at everyone standing beside the Beast God and thanked them as well.
"Let us leave."
With those simple words from Bladedance, Alex left behind the people who had housed and protected him for the better part of his stay in this world.
He did not say it aloud, but he fully intended to show his gratitude through his actions in the future.
Bladedance and Alex teleported to the Jade Lotus Continent, where Alex finally brought out Battlesage, Hao Ya, and Whisker from his Soul Space.
As this was Hao Ya's first time out in the world since the day she was saved in Raingear City, she quickly greeted Bladedance with the utmost respect and then spent her time looking around at the fantastical places surrounding her.
The group then teleported to the Drunken Spirit Continent and reunited with the Wine God's people.
Pearl, Scarlet, and the older Alex and Emily had been waiting for them there the entire time.
The Wine God greeted them and explained the situation.
"The teleportation formation to the Sky God's palace is ready to be activated. They are merely waiting for your group's arrival," he said.
Bladedance gave a subtle nod. "No point in wasting time then. We should go right away."
"As you say, senior."
The Wine God and his people escorted Alex and the others to the western city of the Drunken Spirit Continent that led to the Sky God's palace.
Along the way, Wineshard pulled Alex aside for a moment and handed him something.
"Here is a little gift for you to share with your family later, young brother," the man said. "I cannot offer much else, so I hope you will accept this."
What Alex received was a storage bag. When he looked inside, he found several types of wine. This was the best the son of the Wine God could offer.
Alex accepted the gift with a warm smile and nodded. "Thank you, senior. You are kind."
He stored the bag away and, after a brief thought, brought something out and handed it to the prince.
Wineshard looked at the talisman with confusion. "What is this?" he asked.
"During the auction, you had to leave in a hurry, so you didn't get a chance to bid on it," Alex said. "You mentioned that you wished to
improve your alchemy skills, right? This pill-forming technique should help you."
Wineshard's eyes widened in surprise. "You got this? How? Was it the Sky God's soldier who bid on it?"
"No," Alex said. "It was my technique to begin with. Sister Hao Ya here was selling it in hopes of earning enough money to leave this world."
Wineshard turned to her. "I see. So this is that young lady," he said. "Is she family?"
"A close enough friend to be considered family," Alex explained. "More importantly, she is the disciple of the Sky God's outer disciple and a sworn sister of her Prime Disciple."
Those words drew even the Wine God's attention to Hao Ya.
"I wasn't aware we had such a person among us," the Wine God said with some surprise. "You should have asked us for help if you needed
it, young lady."
Hao Ya gave a small nod, unsure of what else to say.
They finally arrived at the city where the formation was located and
made their way toward it.
With the entire area surrounded by the Sky God's army, Hao Ya
couldn't help but remain vigilant.
Bladedance noticed this. "Let me know immediately if you recognize anyone who hurt you," she said.
Hao Ya nodded as she looked around. "I don't see any of them here."
"There likely weren't many to begin with," Alex said. "They were probably only stationed in the Eternal Isles."
Hao Ya believed that to be true as well.
The Wine God sent his people to announce Bladedance's arrival, and
soon the Sky God's soldiers began preparing the formation. The others who were waiting to leave were also notified.
It took a short while, but everything was eventually ready.
"Good luck on your journey, senior. I will pray that justice is brought to those who harmed you," the Wine God said with a bow.
"I will ensure it myself," Bladedance replied with a resolute nod.
The older Alex nudged Alex. "Am I the only one feeling nervous right now?" he asked. "I feel like my heart might either stop or beat out of my chest."
"I feel the same," Emily said.
Alex smiled faintly. "I cannot deny it. I feel the same way. As the saying
goes, home is where your people are. So in a way, after all these years, we're finally returning home."
The older Alex smiled. "You're right. We're going home. And I, for one,
can't wait."
Everyone else felt the same.
Alex took a deep breath to steady himself as the Sky God's people completed their preparations. Then, with a single command, the formation was activated.
The sky churned into a maelstrom of space, coming alive and
swallowing everyone present. Alex felt it surrounding him and understood it enough to know there were no issues. The final few fears he still held vanished in that moment.
And in a flash, Alex was teleported away to the Sky God's palace where the final missing pieces of his life awaited him.
