Chapter 302: Sworn Enemy
Chapter 302: Sworn Enemy
Liora did not stay around and waste any more time.
After taking a walk around the city and checking this world’s atmosphere, she didn’t stay any longer but hurriedly left. She understood that she would not get any valuable information here.
The time she had spent in the city was not completely wasted, though.
The casual atmosphere and the seemingly rule-based order calmed down her tense nerves.
Unknowingly, the aura carried by someone who had lived in the Demon World was slowly expelled from her body.
Soaring into the sky, Liora’s figure soon disappeared into the horizon. This time, her movements were no longer as careless.
Her demonic energy surged, and a pale domain covered her body, concealing her presence and making it impossible to detect her.
At the same time, her casual expression disappeared, replaced by a calm and collected look.
Having taken such measures, although she passed right above the human cities and demon habitats, no one discovered her.
Even the few Master-level demons ignored her completely, as if she had transformed into something intangible.
Therefore, the rest of Liora’s journey was uneventful. With a clear goal in mind, she flew in a straight line.
Before long, she once again fell to the ground, with the pale domain erasing the impact of her descent.
What greeted her this time was not the high walls of a city, but a rocky mountain with steep hills.
From afar, the mountain looked like a sword pointing towards the sky, with its base being the handle and the peak being the sword’s edge.
A string of letters was engraved onto the mountain, visible even from far away.
"Heavenly Sword Sect.", the letters read, making Liora’s destination abundantly clear.
That’s right.
From the very start, Liora had not been prepared to wait for the Blood Devil Sect’s members to arrive.
Instead, after she ordered Rose to prepare, she left the sect on her own and arrived here.
"Those people are only needed to deal with the battle’s aftermath."
"Bringing them with me will not bring me any help. If anything, they might hold me back instead, and make the next action more troublesome.", Liora thought as she made her way up the mountain.
Her demonic energy flared, and the Silent Domain was further reinforced, erasing any traces of her existence and turning her invisible in other people’s senses.
Following the strongest aura detected by her consciousness, Liora slowly ascended onto the mountain, soon arriving at the famous Heavenly Sword Sect.
This sect was nothing special.
It was divided into different areas, where the disciples and the Elders lived, while the Sect Leader resided in the forbidden area near the mountain’s peak.
Not surprisingly, Liora’s goal was the place where the Sect Leader stayed.
With no one able to detect her presence, including the Masters of the sect, she soon arrived at the forbidden area.
It was the peak of the mountain, yet it looked nothing like what one would expect.
The peak seemed to have been severed by a giant sword, leaving a flat platform that resembled a plain.
Although it was early morning and the sun shone brightly, Liora felt a couple of shadows writhe beside her.
At the same time, a sharp aura brushed against her face, causing her skin to tingle and her hair to stand up.
It was only when she waved her hand that everything vanished. Then, ignoring the bizarreness of this place, Liora stepped forward.
The platform was not broad.
It was less than a hundred meters in size.
Yet, Liora noticed hundreds of swords nailed on the ground, as if the mountain itself was serving as their sheath.
A wooden hut stood not far away, a building that one would only find in the poorest of mortal villages.
Still, Liora could sense that the strongest aura in the sect came from that building.
"According to the information collected by Rose, the Sect Leader of the Heavenly Sword Sect is Adrian, an old man at the peak of the Master realm."
"Because of his strength and influence, he holds a very important position in the Warrior Alliance.", Liora dug through her memories as she consciously stepped around the swords.
She did not stop to observe them. She had already seen that these objects were ordinary, the ones that only an ordinary mortal would use.
Even a Little Devil would not stop to take a second glance at them, much less her.
Just when Liora was careful, planning to assassinate the enemy Sect Leader without anyone noticing, though, a faint movement came from within the hut.
"Who?!", a thunderous, angry shout came from within, as the wooden door opened wide and an elderly man flew out.
Holding a silver sword in his right hand that reflected the sun’s orange glow, and wearing a long white robe, the man possessed the demeanor that one would expect in one of those powerful, hidden hermits.
And appearances were not deceiving.
The moment Adrian stepped out of the hut, an oppressive aura washed over the entire mountain.
The ordinary swords on the platform trembled, seemingly resonating with him, and even the clouds in the sky above seemed to part.
"Who dares to step onto the forbidden area?", the Sect Leader calmly questioned, scanning his surroundings with an aloof gaze.
Soon, his eyes fell onto Liora.
He opened his mouth and was about to denounce her when his movements suddenly froze.
Liora’s unique appearance overlapped with a person he had met a few years ago, a person whom he hated and feared at the same time.
The red hair, the red eyes, and the indifferent look as she stared at him were all the same. Adrian would never be mistaken.
This was his sworn enemy! The person whom he had vowed to take revenge upon and return the humiliation!
The Sect Leader of the Blood Devil Sect!
A trace of fury flashed in his eyes as his hand looked ready to strike.
The next moment, though, he turned around and fled.
Although he was facing someone whom he had regarded as an enemy, he did not dare to strike. Instead, he escaped.
His body floated in the air as he descended down the mountain, shouting at the top of his lungs:
"Elders, assemble! Someone has invaded the sect!"
