Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 303: Kindness

Chapter 303: Kindness

"How cowardly..."

Liora did not know that Adrian regarded her as his sworn enemy.

Seeing him turn around and escape without fighting back, she couldn’t help but shake her head.

This was the strongest person she had met so far in this world, and she had been secretly excited for the battle between them.

However, when she saw him act like this, she knew that she would not get what she wished for.

"If that’s the case... Then I can only ask you to die.", Liora whispered, her words difficult to make out.

The moment her words fell, though, her hand blurred and clutched the saber on her waist.

The Warrior’s energy, Qi and Blood, operated, flowing into her hand and pouring right into the saber.

The Blood Blade Technique, a masterpiece created after many years of exploration, which had been further improved by the system, was used for the first time.

The saber’s surface was dyed with a crimson glow as Qi and Blood filled it and caused it to tremble violently.

Because of her strength, Liora sensed another type of energy leave her body.

The more of it flowed out, the weaker she became, as if her very lifeforce was being sucked away by an invisible being.

As a result, though, the saber’s edge shone even more brilliantly.

Invisible strands of power rushed out and struck the surroundings, causing the earth beneath her feet to crack.

At the same time, the many ordinary swords scattered across the platform cracked, unable to withstand the invisible impact.

The saber’s weight seemed to have increased many times, and Liora found it difficult to hold it still.

This was because, not only had the saber’s weight and power increased, but she had also become significantly weaker during this process.

Liora only paused for a brief moment when she felt this unbearable sensation, though.

The next second, she recovered.

After glancing at the saber in her hand momentarily, she shifted her focus to the fleeing Adrian, and she struck.

With an upward swing of her hand, she waved the saber towards the opponent.

In that moment, the originally powerful saber seemed to have quieted down. It grew ordinary, like the many mortal weapons around it.

Yet, in the distance, the pupils of Adrian shrank.

He recognized that move, and it was also the reason why he didn’t dare to fight against Liora.

However, when he recalled the distance between the two of them and analyzed the situation, he couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"This strike will seriously injure me at most."

"Having used the Blood Blade Technique, this damned woman will soon become defenseless.", he judged as his eyes shone brightly.

"Perhaps this is my opportunity. If all the Elders of the sect arrive and cooperate with me, we will surely be able to get rid of this woman today!"

Just as Adrian was hatching various plans and imagining his great revenge, the unassuming blow finally arrived.

One moment, his eyes were gleaming with excitement, and the next, they turned completely lifeless.

The next second, countless tiny wounds formed all over his body, as his body was quickly broken apart.

Masters had long become different from ordinary people. Thus, as Adrian’s body was severed, blood began to rain down.

It washed over the mountain, and the Heavenly Sword Sect in particular, hitting the disciples’ rooftops and dyeing them crimson.

Such a sight was impossible to ignore. Coupled with the Sect Leader’s earlier shout, several grand auras soon emerged from the sect.

Each of them represented an Elder. Their actions were very swift. Within a second, they had appeared beside Liora and subconsciously surrounded her.

They didn’t rush to attack. Instead, they solemnly inspected her, as if wanting to find her identity and her reason for coming here.

"A lone person dares to invade the Heavenly Sword Sect?"

"Even the Seven Great Sects would not dare to do so. Who gave them the courage?", several of them doubted.

Most of these Masters were old men and women who seldom left the Heavenly Sword Sect.

Only one among them frequently involved themselves with the sect’s affairs, and she instantly recognized Liora.

It was a mystery what method she used to achieve this, but she began communicating with the other Masters telepathically.

Instantly, the Masters’ expressions grew increasingly solemn.

But at the same time, a trace of relief flashed in their eyes.

"Blood Blade Technique? A skill that harms oneself in order to perform a single, earthshattering strike? No wonder she was able to injure the Sect Leader."

"If I’m not wrong, the Sect Leader must have fled, planning to recuperate from his injuries."

While these people were communicating, Liora was also sizing them up.

Immediately, she couldn’t help but shake her head with disappointment.

"A mere Heavenly Sword Sect has more than a dozen Masters. That’s more than the Blood Devil Sect has at the moment."

"Sure enough, without me, the Blood Devil Sect would barely be a top-tier sect, much less the strongest one in the Northern Lands."

Liora understood that this was only natural, a result of the short time since its establishment. Still, knowing that her many years of efforts in this world had almost been meaningless, she inexplicably felt a little disappointed.

Fortunately, she soon recovered. Raising her head and looking at the motionless Masters surrounding her, she ignored their oppressive auras and spoke up:

"I’ll give you all the chance. Cut your own heads off, and I will consider leaving your corpse intact.", she said, feeling particularly kind today.

Yet, her words infuriated the many Masters.

They had already learned that the Blood Blade Technique had severe drawbacks. Every time it was used, the user would fall into a weakened state.

In their opinion, Liora was now powerless to resist, acting tough in order to bluff them.

Thinking of this, they didn’t communicate any further, nor did they respond to Liora’s taunt.

They all unsheathed their weapons and attacked in unison, not holding back in the slightest.

Facing their siege, Liora was not surprised. She was just speaking nonsense, and never expected that these people would really surrender.

Still, on the surface, she let out a deep, sorrowful sigh, as if saddened by the decision.

Secretly, the demonic energy inside her body split apart and was diluted, transforming into Qi and Blood and refilling the empty "tank".

Sensing herself filled with power once again, she raised the saber and waved it around.

Under the stunned expressions of the many Masters, several crimson lights soon filled their vision.

Before long, fearful screams echoed throughout the mountain.

The bloody rain that had just stopped resumed once again, this time even deeper in color.

It was a terrifying, yet equally beautiful sight for everyone who happened to see it.

Author’s Notes: By the way, don’t be fooled by the cultivation-looking theme so far. This is still a western world and the main power system will be introduced in the next few Chapters.

I just felt that it would be nice to introduce the world this way.
