Chapter 306: Ouroboros Clan
Chapter 306: Ouroboros Clan
Not far away from the Heavenly Sword Sect, a small village had developed unknowingly, mostly occupied by the disciples’ families who did not want to be away from their children.
Being close to a famous righteous sect with several Masters at the helm, the village’s safety was guaranteed.
Or at the very least, this was what everyone thought in the past.
But now, a group of unwelcome guests had broken the place’s tranquility.
In a cave near the village, two parties were constantly clashing against each other, and the mere aftermath of their fight affected their surroundings.
One of the two warring parties was the team that had just recently arrived in the Northern Lands.
The group of young men and women surrounded their opponent, some of them engaging in close combat while others struck from afar.
The methods they used to attack were inexplicable and would have made any Warrior doubt their life.
But compared to their opponent, the methods used by these people looked ordinary.
Just outside the dark cave, a woman stood with half of her body outside and the other half shrouded in darkness.
Her skin was pale, as if it were made out of paper, while she wore a long white dress that perfectly highlighted her curves.
Her long black hair flowed behind her back, and some of it fell on her forehead, while her curved eyebrows and shining black eyes made her particularly captivating.
Unfortunately, no one had the time, nor the will to appreciate her beauty.
Faced with the blows of the people besieging her, the woman’s face had grown into a twisted grimace.
Her black hair had seemingly transformed into tentacles that shot out on their own, fighting against the incoming attacks and sending the young people flying.
Though she was alone, she was able to contend with the group of young people and slowly get an advantage.
When the protector standing at the back of the group saw these people fail to deal with a mere Evil Spirit, he couldn’t help but shake his head in disappointment.
However, considering that this was the first time these people left the clan and they were inexperienced, he decided to take action and help them.
With a move of his mind, a black serpent emerged from his body and fired at the ferocious woman.
She did not have the time to resist.
As the serpent’s maw opened wide, it swallowed her completely. Once the protector’s energy disappeared, the serpent and the woman also vanished with it.
However, no one let their guard down. The next moment, a small white light flashed at the place where the woman had just died.
It twisted eerily and quickly, and in the blink of an eye, took a material form.
The ferocious woman reappeared.
Her body was intact, and none of the earlier injuries could be seen, as if the previous scene had been a dream.
Yet, as the fight resumed, something strange became apparent.
The woman, who previously held an absolute advantage, was now quickly suppressed.
Before long, a giant mace was smashed onto her head, sending blood and brain matter flying.
But just like before, a light flashed, and the woman quickly recovered.
The protector watched calmly as the group of young people killed the woman repeatedly, each time with a newfound ease.
He gave instructions from time to time and pointed out their mistakes, giving those people advice on how to deal with Evil Spirits.
He only stopped when the Evil Spirit had fallen to the Blood Awakening realm, as he no longer needed to pay much attention.
However, just when he was about to prepare to deal with the aftermath, the protector’s eyes suddenly grew sharp.
He lifted his head and stared towards the empty sky with a stern expression.
"Who?!", his thunderous voice turned into sonic waves, startling both the young people and the ferocious Evil Spirit.
But the man paid no heed. His expression grew increasingly cautious as he waited for the unexpected guest to show themselves.
--
Hearing the man’s shout, Liora was slightly surprised.
She was far away from the battle’s location at the moment, and the pale domain covered her figure.
In her opinion, there should be no way for anyone to discover her arrival.
However, she soon recovered, not mulling over it for long.
Staring at the Evil Spirit that was continuously being revived and then at the man, whose strength was equivalent to a Grandmaster but who didn’t possess any Qi and Blood, her eyes flickered.
Though she was found out, she didn’t rush to attack.
Confirming that the man had indeed sensed her and was not merely bluffing her, she stopped hiding herself and stepped forward.
With a flicker, she landed on the ground, appearing before the protector and the group of young people.
The latter was shocked to see her, but the protector’s expression remained unchanged.
He sized up Liora, and feeling a clear sense of threat coming from her, he opened his mouth and questioned:
"Which Clan do you belong to? Why have you invaded the Ouroboros Clan’s territory?"
"Are you planning to go to war with our Clan?", he asked a set of questions, each one more pointed than the previous one.
Hearing them, Liora remained calm on the surface, but was filled with confusion inwardly.
Clans. Ouroboros Clan. Territories.
These were all unfamiliar terms, things she had never come into contact with before. However, she didn’t dare to ask.
She knew that she had finally come into contact with another side of this world, perhaps a side hidden from the Warriors she had met before.
With a calm expression, she stared at the middle-aged man and planned to extract more information from him.
However, just then, the protector suddenly moved.
His aura surged, revealing his power equivalent to a Grandmaster, and two black serpents materialized, besieging her from both directions.
Their maws opened wide, revealing a potent poison inside, as they looked ready to devour her.
