Chapter 353: Interrupted Escape
Chapter 353: Interrupted Escape
On the other side, Liora did not care about the thoughts of the mortals and the ordinary Clan Members.
Having survived the World Devourer ancestor’s attempt to take over her body, as well as the subsequent investigation of the two higher-level worlds, she was slightly relieved.
However, she knew that the danger had not passed just yet.
The two worlds did not care about her, indeed. As long as the aura of the World Devourer ancestor did not appear, they would not deliberately target her.
However, the fact that they didn’t target her did not mean that she was safe.
Looking at the two eyes flickering in the sky and the increasingly powerful aura of the Demon God, Liora guessed something.
"Analyzing the Demon Weapon World allows these eyes to exert more power and influence in this world."
"Once the two eyes complete their analysis, they will have the ability to directly descend onto this world. Perhaps, they can even take form.", she judged, knowing full well that at that time, the situation would be truly grave.
Even if the two higher-level worlds did not target anyone, this world would suffer a devastating impact. Even she would be affected, much less those weaker than her, and the ordinary people.
Liora made a quick decision. She raised her head and looked at the two fleeing Demon Sovereigns.
Having witnessed the sudden changes, the Hall Master and the Clan Head entangling him no longer had the will to fight.
Before everyone could react, they had already split up and made their escape.
Seeing their escaping figures, Liora’s eyes narrowed.
The space above her head split, and the projection of the Land of Nothingness appeared, as boundless power of Nothingness fell down and transformed into a revolving black hole.
Upon casting Eclipse, Liora controlled the sphere and threw it towards the Clan Head.
Then, staring at the Hall Master, she calmly reached out with her right hand.
Her palm traveled through space and arrived before the opponent, expanding in size and wrapping around him.
The Clan Head was shocked. His intuition warned him of a deadly threat, not much weaker than that emanating from the Demon God.
Spitting a mouthful of blood, the Clan Head let it drop onto his Demon Weapon.
Then, he swung it towards the outstretched hand.
The opponent’s Demon Weapon possessed the form of a spear.
A black flame flickered along its tip as it struck at the giant hand, wanting to open a hole and use it to escape.
Unfortunately, something shocking soon happened.
As the tip touched the hand, a thunderous clang echoed in the Clan Head’s ears.
A large amount of force poured into his right hand and raged into his body, as the flames around the spear went out and he was forced to step back.
On the other hand, Liora’s hand was completely intact.
Not only did it not suffer any damage, but it instead seemed to have become even stronger.
Before the Clan Head could react, her palm clenched with him at its center.
A painful shout soon echoed as the Clan Head disappeared.
The eerie sound of bones breaking apart spread throughout the battlefield, as drops of blood dripped down Liora’s palm.
A moment later, Liora’s arm retreated and turned back to normal.
Similarly, a sphere made of Nothingness appeared beside her, bringing a mangled corpse with it.
Not long after she had advanced, Liora had already slain two Greater Devil-level creatures.
And the most terrifying thing was that she did it with utmost ease. Even Greater Devils who had spent tens of thousands of years in this stage were not as powerful as her!
Liora did not celebrate, though.
Glancing at the remains of the two Greater Devils, her eyes narrowed for a moment before a small formation was arranged in front of her.
Then, she stuffed the two corpses inside.
The formation quickly transformed into a gluttonous beast.
The Devil Runes flashed violently, and the Demon Sovereigns’ essence was devoured in an instant.
The next moment, the formation activated on its own.
A translucent light appeared at its center and began to spread, soon covering the entirety of the Demon Weapon World.
Expectation flashed in Liora’s eyes, as well as faint worry.
But very soon, when the light reached this world’s end, that expectation was shattered.
"Where is she?"
"Did Alpha fall into a demi-plane? Or has she ’ascended’ to the two higher-level worlds?", Liora couldn’t help but whisper, knowing that the detection formation she had arranged had failed to find this subordinate of hers.
Most likely, Alpha was no longer in this world. She may have already entered one of the worlds surrounding this.
Liora frowned.
However, she did not give up just yet.
Turning her head towards the Demon God’s battlefield, she reached out and grabbed the remains of the fallen Clan Heads.
The Demon God did not stop her.
He seemed to have completely lost his mind, acting as a machine created solely for slaughter.
Soon, several Demon Sovereign corpses appeared beside Liora and were hurriedly tossed into the formation.
The light at its center grew even more brilliant.
It penetrated deeper into this world, scanning over the deeper layers of space.
But just like before, Alpha was still nowhere to be found.
Liora really wanted to give it another try, but by now, she no longer had the chance.
The two eyes above her head had covered almost the entirety of the sky.
A human-like intelligence flashed within them, as countless runes were arranged around their pupils, seemingly representing the essence of the world.
Liora understood that she didn’t have any more time upon seeing this.
The two higher-level worlds had completed their analysis and were about to really descend!
Sensing the warnings of her intuition and listening to the overlapping murmurs ringing within her ears, she no longer hesitated.
Her consciousness dove into her space ring and took a miniature formation out.
The moment it appeared, Liora was about to activate it and return to the Demon World!
However, before her demonic energy could pour into the Devil Runes, her movements paused for a brief moment.
A scream filled with hatred reached her ears and, as she turned her head, Liora discovered that it came from Mayven.
Or rather, it came from what little remained of this once-powerful Demon Sovereign.
